My favorite part is the Japanese companies and drivers, while competitive and fierce, we’re always friendly with eachother. There weren’t any cutthroat shenanigans.
that exact thing is why i love the 24 Hours of Lemons racing series. junk cars running a 24 hour endurance race. the paddock is FULL of teams helping other teams keep their terrible cars on the track the whole weekend. it's incredibly fun, and people who arent filthy rich can participate, since the beginning value of the car cannot exceed 500 dollars!
HOW DOES THIS NOT HAVE 1 MILLION VIEWS? Fantastic video on my favourite motorsport. I too am also awaiting Suzuki's return in the S15 eager to see a new time bracket achieved. Thank you for this!
For anyone who was wondering the all time record at Tsukuba is a 44.088 set in 2015. It wasn't a time attack record but instead it was a Super Formula lap time set by Kamui Kobayashi (The same person who set the 3:14.791 time at Le Mans)
Had a chance to be in the same team with Tarzan Yamada in Super Taikyu. Was amazed that he could take a nap when it was not his stint. He was calm like it was just another day in life.
We need more content like this on youtube, as much as I love drifting I'm tired of hearing the same old story and time attack needs to be explored more.
This is one of my favorite videos. Partially for the Under spotlight, partially for the well done & informative script, partially for overall being very well done & engaging throughout. Thanks for creating this.
ooooohhh this finally explains all those weird one off tuner cars in Gran Turismo! It's so cool to see the stories behind those cars, as a kid playing GT2-6 I never knew what the Mines skylines or that crazy red evo with a million horsepower were, and I suspect many of the other tuner cars (Amuse GT1 Turbo?) were built for similar purposes
29:34 It was a tyre delamination that occurred. While it was something that occurred to other teams (Tilton and RP968) those happened after a couple of push laps that caused their tyres to overload. Part of the reason Under Suzuki's tyres failed unexpectedly was that it was a set of old tyres that, if I remember correctly, were meant as a display set, not for actual race use. Also this is a very good round up of Time Attack. Thank you for making it. I'm personally hoping in the future UK Time Attack can bring back the insane Pro Class cars that feature in other areas of the world. With the debut of Gobstopper 3 hopefully in 2022, we'll see a resurgence in the UK.
I remember being at wtac in 2019 and seeing some of the tyres on the pro/pro-am cars being removed in the pits with large chunks of tread ripped up and flapping about. I mentioned this to a friend that year and then this happened.
this is video format is what i wanted from the car community where just from others don't do for us they just make it tiktok length while this the amount i want for the clips part to being. Thanks to this video i will tune in the WTAC
This was such a pleasure to watch seeing all these cars in video games and all over the internet through the years and now to know their story what made them so iconic and dominent made me really happy and inspired. Thank you so much for making this!
Yes please for stories from the tuners and the cars. For example S2000 why it‘s so good at time attack with little effort or how the GR Yaris performs and if it has potential to be the fastest.
@@HuntersMoon Definitely, I always thought time attack cars looked like they did now, with them being barely stock extreme aero machines, but I would have never imagined for it to not only have had such a comparatively short history but also such a dense and evolving culture in that timeframe. I guess I'm gonna plan to tune in on whatever events I can find. It looks awesome.
As someone not familiar with the scene, fair play to HKS. A group of professional engineers with unlimited budget to push the boundaries is how new technology is developed. And from the past trends you can see how this eventually trickles down to the other teams. The TRB is like getting a glimpse into the future.
I never thought I would get through this whole video because my little lack of giving a care of time attack but you seem to have keep it entertaining. Good job on all your video’s. I am enjoying your whole video catalog well done.
This was your first video according to the dates posted!! You started out solid and are getting even better. I will be sure to like and subscribe. Good media
It's obvious that there's some inspiration from summoningsalt here, so i think the best praise i can give is that this video matches that quality too. It's probably been said before, but this video is as good as many other "history of"s with millions of views. Very informative and concise without being boring at all.
All this reminds me of Initial D, just a bunch of blokes that love cars wanting to see who's got the best car and driver skill without huge sponsorships.
I watched a few of your videos now and especially after this last one I just had to Subscribe videos are very well. Put together and very informative. I couldn't appreciate it anymore than I do now. Thank you very much.
I love how you use the music to give that lost feeling of some sort of sentiment for a time past, even though I never lived it, it makes me miss it lol
Know you probably heard this many many times but your video was so good I couldn't help myself wanting to say what an amazing job you did. I can tell you put in a tons of research that me nor anyone will probably ever know but damn you did so much information and so well put together, you deserve to feel proud about making this.

All i can say is thank you for making this video.Time attack is my favorite motorsport along with hillclimb, rally and slalom and Tomohiko Suzuki and Yoshiki Ando are my absolute all-time favorite time attack racers and true legends.Suzuki's S15,Tilton's Evo 9,Yoshiki's Evo 9,Top Fuel Voltex S2000 and MCA S13 are my all-time favorite time attack cars. Some stuff i didn't know about Suzuki are nicely explained in this video as well.Beautiful documentary and great job.

I've seen many videos of racing in Japan but damn this video goes above and beyond. It's amazing and keep creating very informative but entertaining videos.
Awesome vid dude! Seeing those early 2000's time attack cars really brought me back! I still have all the magazines from back then that I read about them in
This channel deserves more views! this video alone just gives me hope that the tuner culture will live on even when electric cars start to dominate the tracks. Nothing like a revving engine that burns fuel and pushing more power by adjusting many elements around the powertrain. I really dont think I'll personally get into electric car racing, theres something about a combustion engine and the sound of loud exhaust passing by!
Absolutely love this content It's perfect to listen to at work and I'm craving more Please keep up the astronomical quality of your videos and have an amazing day
What a great video, you single handidly explained several of the special cars of the very early Forza Motorsport titles 1 and 2, where I as a little child got the Mine's R34 or the red HKS Evo8 and always wondered since then what was so special about these cars. Now, more than ten years later, you gave me the answers. Thank you very much for that. You motivate me to plug in the old Xbox or the 360 again and try out these time attack cars at Tsukuba. Seeing the drastic developments of the RWD Silvia from Under Suzuki was very fascinating. Good luck with your Silvia build in the future.

Great to see WTAC included here. I’ve been to almost every event since 2011 and have been waiting for Under’s first win since about as long. Those few year in the early-to-mid 2010s were something special, and it’s crazy to see how far and how quickly his S15 developed.
