You really had a ton of airtime on Dutch TV since you were running most of the time in Haven Hailu's pack! But I was wondering the entire time, what is that square thing dangling at the back of your neck?
QoD: Ran the Rotterdam Marathon as well. Loved it and got an 8 minute PB of 3:23:30! 55 years old and have already set 10 mile, half marathon and now marathon PB’s already this year!
@@MontyB97 I’m just following a 100k plan (I have a race at the end of May) but did the first 8 weeks of the plan at marathon pace. Looking forward to finishing the plan at a more sensible pace now 😀 And doing S&C to avoid injuries!
QD I also ran the Rotterdam marathon yesterday. It's my first marathon but my second marathon training. The first time I was 17, but I got a severe brain injury which kept me from excercising. I got huge headaches from any form of intensive excercise which lasted for years. Slowly but surely the headaches started to disappear. So last October I ran the half marathon of Amsterdam and now at age 25 I finally ran the distance that has been on my bucketlist for the last 8 years. I did need to readjust my goal because I was working through an achilles injury this trainingblock, but with a time of 03:42:13 I am very proud of my first marathon. Thank you for the inspiration, and I'll turn the doorknob again soon!
On Sunday I ran a half-marathon in 1:48:52. At the age of 62 and with two years of hamstring problems behind me I am so happy with the time. The best thing is that, even at my age, I am confident I can improve on the time and best of all I can have a blast doing it. I have been a runner for 39 years and I'm not stopping now.
Seth, wow man. Idk why but hearing all of these people cheering for you and yelling "QUICK FEET! PUMP ARMS! BUTTER THAT BREAD!" It got me and sent a couple tears down my face. How incredible is it that running and this vlog can bring so many people together? It's a beautiful thing my brother. In a world that has so much going on, this genuinely warms my heart. Congrats on the PB Seth!
Seth correct me if I’m wrong but I think you were top American in the race!! Huge congrats! I discovered the importance of breakfast before a race this weekend! Didn’t have anything to eat before my half marathon Saturday and it hit me at mile 8, just crashed and had no energy despite taking gels. Live and learn! Congrats on the PR!!
I ran Rotterdam this weekend as well (saw you Seth on Friday). Started slow with first 1/2 marathon in 1:45. Second 1/2 marathon in 1:39… felt amazing! Super happy with that. All the best Seth. Great you came to our city to race. Hope you enjoyed it!
QD: first of I just want to say massive congrats Seth on a new PB. My flight was delayed to the Netherlands from Ireland so I missed the group run in Rotterdam but I had the pleasure of sharing the streets with you in Rotterdam on Sunday. My first Marathon and I achieved a life long goal of going sub 3 with a time of 2.58.43, and honestly Seth a large part achieving this was down to watching your videos over the past few years and how it has fundamentally changed my perception of what it means to be a runner and importantly how to train. Keep buttering that bread and thanks for inspiring us all. DGR strong.
well done man , I live in Brighton and have done the Brighton marathon , great day for it yesterday , a little breeze but still a great day for it , congrats
Congratulations both, I tanked my first attempt and finished 5hrs 27min. But am I’m running the same marathon here in Denver again next month and hope to run the whole way, and not hit the wall at mile 18…
@@bwsinfonia13 Well done! I just did my first in London last October and I'm a slow runner (5h31) but my view is that I can only speed up. Also with HM I found it took me about 3 to work out how to pace it and all so I am sure that the more you do them, the more you'll balance it right. Dont let that take away from the fact that you actual RUN A MARATHON!!
The best thing this channel has given me is an appreciation for what is possible through training. My 1km PB is 3:22 and Seth can run almost that fast for a whole marathon! It keeps me turning the doorknob knowing how much improvement is still on the table.
Congrats Seth on your race - well done, hope you enjoyed yourself. I also ran a PR 3:32 by 9 minutes at the Carmel Marathon IN, placed 3rd in my age group - 63yr young. Think I missed estimating your finish time but it was fun trying.
Your fourth road marathon and you run a 2:22…WOW!!!!! Marathons that you run overseas are tricky. I just feel like poo when I travel overseas… you had an outstanding race !!! Cheers and safe travels home !!!
Oooh man , what a nice raceday was this 👌🥇. You did so f***ing great. Respect bro 👌. I ran my 10th marathon yesterday with you and went first time sub3 2:58:09 @ age 44. It felt like breaking 2 kipchoge style for me 😆. Enjoy the victory and keep up the good work bro 💪.

10 AM start is normal in the Netherlands, I don't understand these early morning starts in the dark. Rotterdam was my first marathon: 4:25:55 was my time. Coming from an injury and Covid, I'm happy with that at 53 years old.
What a run ! Small paths, big bridges, city streets, tunnels, office streets, past landmarks, world class athletes, and walking around on hiways after the run ! Amazing video !
Great job Seth; great job DGR! I love the scene where you are walking away from the camera with your newfound jacket and it reads USA on the back (19:52). I found it very symbolic and inspiring
QD: My 'long run' went well yesterday. Started at 8:50 per mile and finished at 7:54 per mile. My route included a nice 220ft of elevation to add to the mix aswell. The sun sun making an appearance put the cherry on the cake!

Had my first half marathon of the year this past Saturday, and It was a struggle for sure. It was cold, windy, & sometimes snowy. Hit mile 8 and got a MASSIVE migraine, then mile 11 and almost dropped out due to the pain. Huge shout out to my mother who kept me going til the end. She is the reason I was able to push through and finish. It wasn't a PR by any means, but I finished. I consider that a win given the circumstances for sure.

Amazing running, congratulations. I did my first half marathon in 1:48 this weekend (was aiming for sub 2hrs so very happy). It was nice following along with your peak and taper!
QD: My race was more then i could wish for. Perfect weather in Rotterdam! Came from a 3.19 PB, aiming for a 3.10 this year....ending up with a 3.05.17! Took it as a 20mile run and a 10k race! Worked out well, stick to the game plan as the butter sticks to the bread! Sub 3 hour here i come! DGR💪 ps. Amazing to see you running in real life, we passed each other at the 30isch k point(for you 39 something i guess).
Congratulations Seth, as I am from Amsterdam I am glad you chose the Rotterdam Marathon....I ran it twice (2014 & 2019) ....the crowds alongside makes this easily the best race in the Netherlands. Again congratulations !!!!!
QD: Long run was today and it was great! My running journey has been sporadic the past 3-4 years but this year my goal was consistency and I’m showing up everyday! I finally feel like a runner and when I’m not running I’m thinking about running! Let’s go!
Thank you for sharing this (Alex, fab job! thank you!!). I found it really moving to watch this raw footage. I just loved watching you run; I was completely entranced by your leg movement and how little you are on the ground. Although the race is long finished, I was cheering you and the other runners on. I'm just recovering from covid at the moment and am only managing to run about 10 minutes; it's really frustrating. Trying to be kind to myself. I just wanted to say that you and this video have totally motivated me to keep at it and get back to it. Also, after seeing the jacket yesterday, I felt honoured to see the actual meeting 🙂
QD: My long run yesterday was good. I did 19 km for my first run in my brand new Kinvara 13's. All I can say is 'smooth as freshly churned butter'. Congrats on the Marathon PR Seth. Amazing job. If you were surprised to see a pack of media focused on a runner who finished about 51 minutes after you, that was former Bayern Munich and Dutch National Team star Arjen Robben. I learned this morning that he did his first Marathon yesterday and finished in 3:13:57. Kind of cool.

Q.D. I race the 1/4 Marathon in Rotterdam. I am happy I could handle to finish with a pace of 3'44"/km!It was a special racing weekend . I'm living in Rotterdam for 7 years and I always had my wife and my little one waiting for me at the finish line. This year, unfortunately they were not there cause we decided to return to Portugal and get back to near by our family but due working schedules I still have to stay. Joining the group DGR group run and see you smashing a PR just made my day really happier and helped me to forget a bit how I miss my family! Thanks for being an inspiration! 💪

QOD - Had a terribel race. It was my first half marathon and it went really bad. At the 10km mark, I basically hit a wall. It was a tough up and down course and did not perform well. As soon as I hit that wall, I was reminded of your NYC marathon. That gave me hope to finish. My first half marathon - 2:10:20. July 31st I will try again and will succeed!!
QD: 8 mile long run in preparation for the Indy Mini Marathon (1/2 marathon) on May 7th. It was rough with freezing rain and 15mph winds leaving my face red and sore afterwards. I have 1 more long run in my training plan before the big race day, trying to set a PR of sub 1:50:00. Thank you for keeping me motivated throughout my training!!
very Ironic I had my marathon same day as yours I also had a horrific nights sleep. The weirdest night terrors so real it was unnerving. But had a great race broke the 3 hr barrier at 2:58.49 at age 46 I just started running in 2019 you have been an inspiration to me through my journey. thanks for all the information you put out and honestly your attitude towards running and family just uplifts me.

I am in week 7 of 10 of a marathon training block (sub 3h intent) an did my 2nd test run. GREETINGS FROM SALZBURG/AUSTRIA!!!
Seth, your running success is great to watch, congrats on a great race, but what is more amazing is seeing how you have impacted people across the globe with this channel. That is the real achievement, congrats.
I was on my last really long run of 33 km during your marathon Seth. I have my own marathon in 2 weeks. When I was 2:18 in I checked Rotterdam in my phone and saw that you finished a few minutes later.Well done!
Absolutely love your unedited race videos. Warmed my heart watching this today, and finding the USA jacket was so funny. Well done on your PR Seth. Very well deserved.
He had the voice of „oh You’re coming home with me“ and i totally loved it!
QD: I ran the Brazos Bend 100k this weekend. Finished in 13:29. Thanks for all the inspiration. I love the speed and enthusiasm you bring to the sport.
20:17 @Bazar 👊🏻, we've made it a tradition to go there each year with the family after my Rotterdam marathon, lovely medittarenian food
Congrats on your PR 💪🏻
Good to see you were in Rotterdam, it was my second marathon last Sunday in Rotterdam and I run it in 3.57.
Great atmosphere always in Rotterdam.
Congratulations Seth!!! Seeing you running so well with jet lag and so happy has made my day; PRed!!!! WOW!!! Made up for my injury 2 weeks before my targeted Madrid marathon..
The 'snap jacket moment'
Simply amazing.
Huge congratulations on your PR.
Safe journey home and hope you and your family enjoy your well earned Custard 😎
QOD: Ran my longest distance ever- 14 miles to wrap up my training block. Now it is time for a two week taper before my second half-marathon.
Thanks for all of the positive energy and inspiration!
Congrats on the PR! Your selflessness and positivity is very inspiring.
Turnover looked good. Your alignment is better. Great job! Fast time! Very happy for you.
I loved this video. Makes me want to race more than ever. Big congrats my man!!!
It's been a pleasure to watch you train so hard for this PB. Well done.
Just wanted to say thank you, this channel is a daily source of inspiration even when life gets in the way or health gets in the way for me, I can always come here and get that push that I need, so thank you m8
Looked like Vaporflys black same as mine 😜 what an amazing run Seth, I love the uncut video 👍 I smashed my local parkrun goal time by 3 seconds 🥳 24:57 BMB
It was exciting having training block only a week off from yours. Made watching this last 18 weeks more fun. My race went well last weekend with a 17 minute PR for a time of 3:12:57. Still 3 minutes off from my BQ time but grateful to keep improving!
Always enjoy watching the raw vlogs for these races. Was a great surprise to see see you with my old coach Nick Bester. Both of you were big parts of my running journey and getting fit during the first lockdown, DGR strong!
Taper week before Robie. Running this morning in 4 inches of new snow and 20 mile per mile winds. Another great Day! Well done Seth!
Butter my bread is your experience in this video. Really feel your vibes. You got me with tears of joy in my eyes. Sometimes the best things are are thrown away while to me your find is priceless. USA jacket wow

QD: ran the little local Fort Hill Brewery Half Marathon in Easthampton, MA and chased a PR but came up about 45 seconds short , but I'm 59 and my PR was over three years ago so I feel pretty good about the effort. Not last in my age group like last year! Left it all out there as you did too! Congrats on the PR!
QD: It was a great weekend. I ran a 16 minute PB on my marathon with a time of 3:38:18 with 1100 feet in elevation. Congratulations on your PB as well Seth. DGR 💪!!
