I've been having exams lately which make me a little bit stressed out. However these videos of you working on the stagea really make me cheer up and be happy. Thank you Tofu Auto Works!
You sir, are an artist!! I also don't know if it has been said before but, you are an example to the youtube community for always using safety equipment where needed and taking your health seriously!
Absolutely, so many people are willing to do the wrong things and somehow thinks it makes sense to upload it and act like some sort of teacher. Theres a few guys I watch that still take it seriously but many dont. Heck I’ve been seeing videos where the comments get spun up because they are doing it wrong and the next video they are mocking the comments. If you are gonna do the wrong thing just dont upload lol.
Excellent work! I feel like your design style has evolved so much for the better from the Mazda. Your choice of lines and the width of the flares keep it very tasteful. Looking forward to the next episode! 😃
Yeah I definitely feel that too. I'm putting more thought into the functionality of the design rather than just "Let's make the widest widebody I can" which was my design philosophy on the Mx5.
Loved watching you sculpt the foam from an ugly block into something that just looks right on the car. I don't think I'll look at an M35 Stagea the same way again after seeing this come to life. Keep up the awesome work!
Haha, mate you're out there inspiring thousands of people everyday. Not to mention you have a proper grown-up job on top of all the amazing content you put out. I mean this when I say it, if it weren't for you and people like you out here showing what the car community has to offer, I doubt I'd be where I am today and probably wouldn't have ever bothered with UA-cam.
Thanks for watching! I'd like to announce that I've just launched a Patreon page if you would like to support these builds! www.patreon.com/TofuAutoWorks Patrons will be able to watch ad-free videos before they go live on UA-cam. Patrons also gain access to a bunch of exclusive content like ultra high detailed build threads, behind the scene posts, real time updates, patron mentions, access to polls where you can vote on future video ideas / mods and exclusive merch.
So amazing watching the process... Easy to take for granted when you see the finished article but the amount of work that goes in to the design process, the shaping etc, let alone creating the moulds and everything else that goes in to producing the final product!! Massive respect! :)
And that, ladies and gentlemen, goes someway to explaining why a body kit for my car would cost at least 35% (before paint + finishing) of the car's purchase value . Outstanding! 👏👏👏
I just Binged watch the videos for this series! Man, i wish i had your videos when i was building a fastback for my Miata back in 2018. This thing is going to be amazing!
it is very interesting to see how the body kit for the Sta-GTR is created and what effort it is But that's something to be proud of, they look like they were made for it
Thats very cool, you can really see the shape coming together now, the way you followed the factory lines gives it such a nice design. It will need a cool paint job after for sure, something bright or a cool pearl metalic maybe. Look forward to the next one!
33:08 Ayyyyyyyyy!!! There it is 😂😂 The progress you've made and the information you give out is phenomenal! I would like to say a huge THANK YOU for that, for providing so much learning material. Thanks again Sensei and keep the videos coming 🔝🔥
как же она бомбически выглядит в этом обвесе, желаю что бы ты остался доволен симметрией, когда будешь делать вторую сторону, а ещё, слушать звук работы инструментов очень приятно
I don't know if you're already planning on doing it but I think that since the front fenders won't be covering the whole bumper you should maybe add a canard or something along those lines to make the car look lower and complete the front end. Awesome progress, can't wait to see the finished parts! This car might even dethrone the RS6 Avant as my favorite wagon ever.
I'm still impressed how you are pulling out all those tricks out of your sleeves with 9 of the 10 times you don't wear sleeves and all. 😂🤣 That's what makes your channel so dam cool in my opinion.
You've demonstrated some great methods for ensuring reproducible dimensions on the other side. I never even knew how to tackle something like this and be somewhat certain the left and right side matches. Cheers
Absolutely a masterpiece. That pandem style is what im wanting to do on my bagged civic sedan. Was sad to see the video end i coulda watched 10hrs straight of u working and not even realize it. Cant waot for next episode. Have a good one
@@TofuAutoWorks sanding painting glass and body filler work don't matter I'm sure I'm not the only one who would tune in and is learning a lot from you
ya farken sheep shagger haha, good old kiwi ingenuity, tempted to do the same for my Stagea but finding the nissan gtr front end is extremely hard, keep up the beautiful work did you know the 4 door R32 skyline body was the best option to make into a ute, B pillars back is a lot easier to turn into a ute then using the coupe body
So glad I found your channel last night. Love the style of videos, and more importantly, the style of projects! Keep doing what you're doing! You are talented sir!
Witam cie serdecznie oglądam cie z podziwem jesteś widać milosnikiem samochodowym i podchodzisz do wszystkiego fachowo i znasz sie na rzeczy już sie nie moge doczekać efektu końcowego pozdrawiam Polski
I'm also amazed at how rudimentary the MX5's body kit looks next to this! Reminds me of TwinZ's 300ZX widebody; just really clean-looking and complimentary to the car.
it would be nice to see the side where the gas door is completed and somehow make that door go upward instead of side ways that way both sides look symmetrical, but man that is very great what you just made right there ,looking awesome !!
Thats some great work! im doing a wide body on my project but i have access to proper wide rear quarter panels and front arches specifically made for the car, they still need to be bonded on and blended in and painted which is a lot of work for me but the fact your'e starting from scratch is just a different level of work and imagination. Well done man, cant wait to see the finished build.
This thing is shaping up to be epic! I think it would look much cleaner if you did the front flare as a single piece, it's like 30 seconds more work to unbolt it before removing the bumper. Also, if you're planning on using rivnuts, get the ones for plastic on the bumper! They make a huge difference compared to the sheet metal ones that just rip out of you look at them wrong. Keep up the great work!
Making the flares in a single piece was the plan originally. But I've decided I can make the kit much easier to produce and install if I fix the widebody to the actual fenders / sideskirts and produce them as a single part. Similar to what other companies have done with kits like the Rocket Bunny S14 Boss kit. For fasteners I'll be using rubber well nuts since they dont shake loose with vibrations or lead to galvanic corrosion like the rivnuts can.
When I first clicked on and saw you was doing an expanding foam body kit I was like NOOOOO! Everyone I've seen attempting this online has just ended up fucking up their cars and from what I've seen, it just doesn't look good. HOWEVER... watching you do this has just astonished me. The end result looked absolutely fantastic. Just goes to show how good these kits can look when you know what you're doing. Hats off to you. You have so much talent and I love to watch the evolution of the cars you build. Just wish i had an ounce of the talent you have. Can't wait for the next installment. Keep up the good work 👍
And just remember..... This is just the first stage of making the plug. By the time he refines it enough to actually make the mould for the final flares, it's going to look awesome!
if you go through all that labor and effort in glass, take a bi of time to make a mold you might be able to sell a few sets to fund the project beautiful work this ones awesome , as was the Miata!

Cheers man! I really appreciate that!

Yeah I definitely feel that too. I'm putting more thought into the functionality of the design rather than just "Let's make the widest widebody I can" which was my design philosophy on the Mx5.
Lesson's were learned with the miata, this has to be functional to drive, and legal.
Loved watching you sculpt the foam from an ugly block into something that just looks right on the car. I don't think I'll look at an M35 Stagea the same way again after seeing this come to life. Keep up the awesome work!
Seeing such skills on display like this make me wonder what I'm even doing with my life

Really enjoy this type of content, where your work does the talking. No need to explain what’s goin on, clearly articulated. Great Job!!
That little trick for drawing where you are going to cut is the coolest thing ever. 🇯🇲 big up.
Great use of the existing body lines, a laser and a long bending ruler. Looks great!
I like how you’ve incorporated existing body lines into the design, they emphasise the extra width.
Mate you are so next level with all this it's insane. Total inspiration
I watched all 22 episodes and really enjoyed it.

Superb work!! For the future I would like to see a version 2 with a more unique style for the fenders
I love watching you make these. Your vids are like the dudes digging pools in the woods but for car guys
The amount of progress each video is astonishing!
Daaaang. That looks 🔥. I am in awe of the work you are doing on this stagia. That wide body is gonna look so cool man. Watching in anticipation
This is becoming one sick car! Can't wait to see how you mimic this design to the other side, looking to start desiging my wide body on my G35 soon.
Brilliant. I'm hooked. I hope you get someone nice give you a GTR engine and gearbox to compliment this build. This car is special. You are awesome.
When I carve foam like this I tend to use an electric carving knife if I need to carve a lot of material. Works really well.
You're doing a masterful job. So nice to watch. Keep it up. Don't get tired 🤘

Nice touch covering the gas tank for the sparks. Better safe than sorry thats for sure!
This work is pure genius! Your body kit looks already incredible 😉
I’m super excited to this done. Even though we don’t get this in USA it should be a kit. Definitely complements the r34 stagea builds

this man does everything so confidently. id be scared to touch anything after the foam
Oh wouah, magnifique 😍

When you spend a looong time doing 1 side knowing you'll have to do the other 😅😂. Love this build, been watching from the start. Bravo 👏
How come there isnt an easy method to flip the molds.
@C4membert he does em separate, he uses basic tools to do his work. No fancy computer gadgets, he's certainly talented either way 👌
