- Is Our Morocco Trip In JEOPARDY? (Campervan Problems)
Join us this week as we visit the famous world UNESCO site Ait Benhaddou in Morocco, before tackling some essential van maintenance and realising we have a major LPG disaster. Then our road trip across the atlas mountains comes to a halt with an unexpected emergency stop.

ive already commented but i wanted to just say thank you for respecting teddys privacy while he wasnt feeling well! that was really refreshing to see as most vlogger parents would have used that for content and click bait. THANK YOU!
Thankyou ❤️ we had to make sure he was okay first, that was priority xxx
Hey guys, we’re watching from Germany. Whenever you are around you can camp for free on our ground.
Clean the wheels up, paint them and then put Swedish Wheels Trims on, I put them on my Lorry, they're the best to keep looking smart & very easy to keep clean...
I'm watching from bed😂
haha brilliant, nice and cosy?
So am I
Me too 😂
My experience comes from over-landing in a Land Rover, so a lorry is a bit different. Alloy wheels aren’t (usually) as strong as steels, unless you fork out a lot of money. Have a box of glues, tapes and putties, so superglue, two part epoxy, duct tape/ gorilla tape, milliput, sugru and JB weld, these are all very useful for when something plastic decides that the going is too rough. You appear to have enough space for a split tail box and a wheel, but you will loose ground clearance at the back, unless you angle it and then there’s all the ancillary bits you need to change a tyre plus the weight. Carry a tyre repair kit and a pump if nothing else, these can get you out of the sticky brown stuff. You could look at getting a multi fuel stove, for when the main gas is getting low, then use diesel in it, that way you don’t need two fuels. Really enjoy your videos, makes me want to go over landing again.
Your LPG has a hole in the Diaphram in the pressure relief valve. I Had it happen on my LPG central heating storage tank. Turn off your isolator tap. Your problem is low air pressure increasing the pressure difference at height. Plastic deteriates with age, and your alternator is overcharging or has a faulty diode in the Alternator over loading the bulb circuit.
I was in Morocco during a Ramadan many years ago. I was there when Ramadan ended and it was quite tge celebration.
Rub the wheels down and get them resprayed your self. Makin sure you do not take away too much steel from them. May be 180 grit 280 grit upto 400 grit then spray with Wheel spray. Also as to your problem with the rear under body .. if you have looked at DPD delivery vehicles they have a cage system to store their trollies, maybe an idea to get one and modify to suit your needs. Including a spare wheel or two.
Hammerite is favourite on wheels, the brush-on liquid is fine.
the meters work on pressure which is fairly rubbish because liquid gas maintains the same pressure until there is no gas left to liquify. Also pressure gauges are relative to atmospheric so the closer you get to sea level the lower the reading will be. With that sort of level detection the best you generally get is a day's notice. Cylinder weight is a much better metric to use but no good if it's fixed as yours is. Another method is to wave a blowtorch over them (yes it sounds bad) the flame will cause condensation where there is gas and not where there isn't.
You can get magnetic patches that change colour with temperature - while you're using the gas evaporation causes cooling so there will be a colour change at the liquid level.
💯 need a spare wheel as you might have breakdown cover but will be ripped off for the new tyre
True we had a flat today in middle nowhere and luckily we had a spare in campervan expensive if you have to call out always carry a spare
What, what, what..... cliffhanger hanger .... have fun 👍💚🌷👀🍀
Heheh sorry!
LORRY you can get chrome trim,s they would look great on the truck. Loving the vlogs, enjoy your life xx
spare wheel if you can spare the weight, you can use a boat winch type of thing to pull the spare wheel up, common on factory fit spare wheels on commercials,
Watching from near Glasgow in Scotland.
First, a dog absolutely a dog!
Second, paint the wheels black
Lastly polish the blue cab up a bit.
Great video guys. Looks like a great adventure.
Definitely in need of a bit of a clean when we get back to the UK.
Enjoyed the video. So much fun and educational watching y’all’s travel from place to place. The Moroccan people seem so hospitable.Think I’d enjoy all the tea testing.😉 Watching from the state of Arkansas in the U.S.
We were a little nervous about the tea, but have grown to love the different tea testing ❤️
Hanging and shelf storage for the old dog place, stick a curtain across until you make up a decision
Spare Wheel - YES
Refurb existing strong steel wheels - YES
Paint colour for wheels... original look steel silver - YES
And finally, that temporary storage area that is obvious when looking in - DOG :)
Meanwhile - hope you sort out that rather strange LPG situation and continue to enjoy your voyages :)
Edit..... just got to the end of the Vlog..... Airport?
Watching from New Zealand and really enjoying your travels. Hope you soon sort out your L P G problem.
Thanks so much!
I’m a Yorkshire lad and happily in East Yorkshire, next time your back in Blighty you must come up this way, our east coast is beautiful. Silver wheels will look best in my eyes and I’m sure alloys would be fine for your truck 👌🏻
Sounds great! Where do you recommend? x
Hi guys, watching from Queensland, Australia, love your channel.
Mama is watching you all from the sofa in Suffolk
Missing the Rugrats big time ❤counting down the days till we see you all again, videos are getting better and better ❤️ Not sure another dog would be best at this time, think long and hard about that one x could you put a rail up in the dog area to hang coats?? I'd probably put a curtain across or a drop down blind x
Love you all ❤
Aww we can't wait to see you too! ❤️ I like the curtain or blind idea! x
Another great vlog! Keep the steel wheels, but get a spare, you don't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere waiting for help for god knows how long. I see people are enjoying your content from all around the world looking at the other comments. Keep safe and happy travels, thanks for taking us along. Ross, Scotland.
Thankyou! It's pretty cool to see where everyone is watching from 😊🌎
I've used a blob of blue tack on the end of a bit of wire to fish a broken bulb out of a headlight.
Another great watch with great editing. Rick's sharing of a little piece of history from places you visit, is always interesting and welcomed. Had a bit of a belly laugh at the 2 pairs of pants episode, what a hoot lolz. Those are three great wee travelling companions!
Waiting in anticipation to see where you might be heading off to, for a short stay? (Judging by the size of the bags 🤔)
Basically watching from the bottom of the world here in Dunedin, New Zealand 🇳🇿
Glad you enjoyed it! We really enjoy hearing from you every week 🇳🇿😄 The kids definitely make travelling interesting 🤣
Bloody hell, definitely carry spare wheels! or even just spare tyres at a pinch, which will save some weight, but wrestling one on to a wheel isn't fun... Don't switch to alloys, a bad pot hole or rock impact can crack them. Steel wheels can be hammered back in to shape in an emergency.
Loving your vids, Morocco is incredible! Glad you are enjoying yourselves 😃
Thankyou so much, appreciate that ❤️
I’m British living in Finland and watching from Finland.
Love Finland! Lucky you, although we've only ever been in summer.
Watching from west yorkshire love your vlogs hope teddie ok and hubby says paint your wheels and yes anotjer dog would be lovely x
When are you putting the extra windows in the cab for the kids. You mentioned it once when doing the build when the bed was being changed to seats.😊
When we get back to the UK! We couldn't get it done in time before we left, the supplier had a huge delay
Watching from Almeria, Spain. Went to the market at Villaricos this morning! Love your videos
1:08
Ah fabulous!!! We enjoyed Villaricos
Hi on holiday in New Zealand on cruise ship live in uk watched all you blocks great keep it up thanks say hi to the kids
Thank you! Will do! 😀
Watching from Hertfordshire, love your videos.
Hope Teddy is feeling better.
Fit another gas tank on the side so you don't run and also a spare wheel should be a must.
It would be lovely if you were to adopt a dog great companion for the kids.
Stay safe and hope you are still enjoying your journey x
Thankyou, we are guessing it must have been altitude sickness! He was fine afterwards xxx
What a fantastic family journey so far you having.. couldn't help seeing the 99 likes and making it to 100 to get the ball rolling upto 200... :)
ah brilliant, thank you so much! Remember to hit the subscribe button if you havent already
I've been watching from Johannesburg South Africa, but am originally from The Republic of Nigeria....cheers!
Oh wow, thats really cool! Thankyou for following along with us 🇿🇦🇳🇬
I am watching you from Duluth Minnesota in the USA. I have enjoyed your travels.
That's really very cool 🇺🇸
LPG is affected by altitude and temperature but I wouldn't have expected it to be such a dramatic difference as you mention. Be interesting to see once you return to sea level.
Watching from Wales, love your blogs... But safety first Rick check your wheel nuts frequently, and get a spare wheel you can guarantee that a puncture will happen in the middle of nowhere. You don't want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere waiting on help anything could happen god forbid. Take care all regards Phil ❤
Move the water tank to the back of the chassis. That's what has put your front axle so close to its limit, that will take some of the weight off the front axle. Then you can put the kids toys and things where the water tank was.
Alloy wheels look good, but a nightmare to get off. They have a tendency to stick to the wheel hubs.
For the spare wheel, how are you planning to jack up the truck ? Doing it without knowing what you are doing can be dangerous. If you are in Europe the breakdown service is generally ok. If you are somewhere very remote you should have something just in case. Just bear in mind a spare wheel, jack... is a lot of extra weight you would be carrying around all of the time and you don't have much payload to begin with.
You should also think to remove the tachograph as you don't need it. As long as it is fitted you need to do the 2 yearly inspection on it regardless of if you use/need it. Can be a big fine if you don't.
Years of experience in hgv and Motorhomes get a spare wheel you will need one till the time you do
Aww, poor Teddy. He looked so uncomfortable. Hope he is feeling better. Heart says dog, but having travelled with 2, my head says, "Put doors on to hide the boxes" 😂 xx
Much better thankyou! Think it may have been altitude sickness 😔 our heart and heads definitely say different things about getting a dog 🐶
Paint your wheels for sure!
Black or silver on the dish side & blue on the dome side. Don't forget the Kurust first.
Aluminium wheels are a *_definite_* no-no on rough roads! Steel wheels flex or occasionally bend (& can be straightened easily), alloy wheels crack or even have chunks fly out.
7:10 Humm 😏 Hey Ric… at 5:14 I recall you popping Sugar into the tea pot 🤪 Some deliberate spiking me thinks, to get out of having to drink much of the ‘rosemary’ tea 😁
It's my fault, I wanted more sugar 😂😂😂
I a watching from usa you do know we in the US watch you aswell
I know, can't believe there are so many of you!!!
I am watching from a tour of Ireland - I am on the Ards Peninsula, Northern Ireland
Oh wow, is it nice there?
In my understanding of an external lpg tank almost all have a level sensor with a float to measure the liquid content of the tank .this shouldn't change with altitude unlike the pressure gauge on a lpg bottle i would say you have a leak and if you fill it .turn it off at the tank when your not not only will it not be wasted but it wont be a hazard. Get someone to check for leaks or do it yourself with soapy water
It looks like the installer has chosen to ignore the float & install something that's sensitive to atmospheric pressure.
Checking for leaks occasionally is a good idea whether you suspect leaks or not.
سلام عليكم مرحباب بيكوم في المغرب 😊😊😂😂👍👍🇲🇦🇲🇦
Watching from Somerset UK
Hopefully you can sort out your LPG issues soon
Thankyou 🤩
Watching from the middle of Tennessee, USA👋.. hope ALL is well!
Very cool 🇺🇸
Watching from Hawaii. Love your videos. It's amazing how tea is so different around the world.
Somewhere we would really love to go! ❤️
@@Touringwiththekids always welcome! You have free tour guides here!

Watching from the Uk. Leeds Liverpool canal on our narrowboat. Hope Teddy got better quickly.
Ah amazing! Hows canal life?
@@Touringwiththekids it’s great fun, just want the good old British weather to stop raining 😂
You've left us on a proper cliffhanger. Heart definately says a dog but can understand would impact on the travelling. You could turn it into a mini utility cubboard. Love the videos, love the kids involvement.
Love watching you guys , definitely inspiring us ❤️ lovely family. Great videos ps get a dog 🐕 👍 😂😅 😊
Always nice to hear that someone finds us inspiring 😂 would really love a dog ❤️
Long way from that field near Stowmarket! I quite enjoy watching these on a sunday evening. Safe travels, Doug (the icecream man).
Haha a very long way!!! Good to hear you enjoy the videos 😊
@@Touringwiththekids If you end up back at Tom's I have got some local contacts that will help you get those wheels blasted and painted. Tom has my number.
Watching you from Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates)
Awesome!
Altitude will alter gas pressure but not by that much, also temperature plays its part as well.
Hi everyone watching I'm watching from Portsmouth uk
Brilliant!!! We're going to be docking there when we get back to the uk 🇬🇧
Hi, was just watching your video on UA-cam and you said about your engine batteries going flat. Did you know that your taco graph takes power all the time? So I would see if you can get it taken out as for your wheels I would get Dora Brites take care Liam
Watching from Northern Ireland.
Definitely a spare wheel and jack.
seconded!
Wheelbrace & torque wrench too, the nuts are _tight_
I love you all. What a great family! I also like Torry. Glad you are enjoying the scenery in Moroccco. I shall be there with a group of biker friends in April. I'm really looking forward to it.
Ah amazing, some good roads for bikes here!!!
I am watching you from Ericeira - Portugal
ohh lovely! 🇵🇹
Watching here from Stockport, Sth Manchester, on the lorry its definately a spare wheel, jack and wheel brace as it can be very costly should you experience a blow out, on the wheels I personally would go for alloys mainly for the saving on weight, the third is when you go for bulbs then replace them with L.E.D.'s as they are brighter and last a lot longer as they don't have a filament like ordinary bulbs and less likely to melt anything.
Definitely _not_ alloys on rough roads as they don't flex they crack or break.
Brighter lights are both illegal & very rude, fortunately LEDs are available in standard brightness.
@@alanhat5252Then why are 99% of Rally and Race Cars fitted with them ??
Cork Ireland 🇮🇪 love your family
Thankyou ❤️
Dog - Yes.
Paint Wheels Silver or maybe even send for powder coating.
Under slung chassis storage boxs
And totally iolate your house batterys from the truck battery. Thst way you can use one to jump the other if needed
south coast england you loverly people
Watching from Pembrokeshire, West Wales
Watching (just west) of Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, West Wales
Watching from Aberdeenshire, bonny Scotland!
Fantastic!!! Love Scotland. Our Jack was born in Dumfries ☺️🏴
Watching from Canada. 🍁
Wahoo 🇨🇦
If you're not using solar panel charging on your battery's & you're planning on staying put for a few day's start you're truck every 2nd day for 20mins to top battery's up.
Enjoy your trips.
It's a 4 or 5 litre Diesel so it will take that 20 minutes just to put back the charge used for starting the engine.
Has a recovery driver on the roadworks sector we start our trucks up everyday for about 20mins if they don't go out to keep batteries topped up
Normally watching frim the UK . But today i am watching from Tokyo, Japan while travelling for work (i travel alot)
Ah wow, that's pretty special. Somewhere that's always been on my bucket list (Keira) but Ric needs some convincing
@@Touringwiththekids I've discovered you need to be brave with the food! Taste is amazing but you can easily be put off by what it looks like and how you think about food! It's more of a cultural difference than many of the countries I am fortunate to visit.
Fit euro liner wheel trim on the wheels....I have a tool to remove them rear wheel nuts.Bought it for my MK7 transit...Gathering dust now
Watching your entire Morocco 🇲🇦 travel❤ love from the beautiful sunny Philippines😊
Awesome! Thank you for watching ❤️
I'm watching from Honolulu, Hawaii ❤
Stay on steels, when you get time back in the UK get them bead blasted and repainted, Ok they are heavier, but much more resilient. Alloys can develop hairline cracks and then tyre deflation. As for brakes stay off of them as much as you can, use the gearbox and if fitted, the exhaust brake, if not short dabs, never prolonged activation.
Vous êtes une famille formidable 👍
Awwwww. Poor Teddy ☹️
Watching from the sunny North East England. Love your chanel
Awesome! Thank you so much x
Hi. Im watching from Devon, England. I thoroughly enjoy watching your vlogs. Life is empty without a dog, so that would be my choice. Can't wait to see what happened following that cliffhanger. Xx
Watching from scotland.
Hi guys love your videos, much love from sunny Cyprus.
Watching from Bristol , England 🏴. Loving the video’s. Definitely go for black on your 🛞 wheels. A dog for sure, completes the home 🐶🐾🐾🐾🐾🐶xxx🇬🇧
It would be the nicest thing to have another dog 🐶
Watching from a monastery :)
24:32 you really do need to sort out engine braking before you break a disc!
If a chunk comes out of a brake disc it *_will_* rip the caliper off & twist up all the mountings. Don't risk it!
Get a spare tyre so you can get someone else to fit it for you. Could you have an underslung box that will fit tyre and chairs too? Make some draws for inside its not hard to do, and you'll want to change all your cupboards to draws because they are so nice to use!
May have already been said, but Jam and Banana sandwiches are a thing! I like banana with a bit of strawberry jam. Lovely. They are both fruits and work well togther. Give it a try!
Hey there guys ive watched since you started from south Wales uk,
definitely get that spare wheel or two but you stick a cupboard there too
Keep the travel up keep going as love where you guys gone
I dont know if anyone ever said which there favourite is mine is teddy with rick close second
Thankyou, glad you're enjoying following along x
Gas: When you're back in England fit a manual changeover valve & a 13Kg or maybe 19Kg red propane bottle. (Manual valve so you know for definite where you're at with it). They run on the high pressure (2,000psi?) side so keep the hoses as short as possible. Autogas is propane not butane so definitely the red bottles.
Propane is used on building sites so should be available worldwide.
The advice in the forums is to get a CampingGaz 907 regulator & hose and feed it back through your BBQ outlet (it's 2-way), bottled gas is apparently available in every town's market & most petrol stations but you don't want _green_ bottles (or maybe you do, maybe they're the propane ones).
All available locally.
All cheap.
My guess is that propane will be used in the mountains because butane freezes around 0°C depending how fast you're drawing it off (propane ~minus 40°C).
In camping shops you can buy magnetic tape which has squares that change colour with temperature, as the liquid boils to gas it gets cold so you can see the level when you're using an appliance.
The magnet isn't strong so keep it stuck to something indoors.
I’m watching from the Sunshine Coast Queensland Australia
Bet its gorgeous there 🇦🇺 thankyou for watching xx
Watching from Thames New Zealand
Hey there 🤗 we are watching from Marocco a camp site near Tangent we crossed from Spain two days ago⛴️,in answer to your question definitely the third option -get a dog 🐶🐺 we have two dogs and they are awesome companions for the road and is not that difficult traveling with them -yes is a bit more expensive with all the vet coast and staff but is a good fun 😊 the kids will love it too
Great video guys as always, thanks so much for sharing and safe travels 🚛🐫🚐🤗
Thankyou so much for watching! and the pep talk about the dog. We would absolutely love it!!!
My youngest son used to put clean pants on top of dirty ones too! 😂😂 one day I was making him change his school uniform and realised he had three pairs of pants on and he said he had been doing that for ages 🤦🏻♀️😂😂
Haha brilliant, Jack hasn't quite made it to 3 pairs at once yet. But we definitely wouldn't put it past him x
Lovely video and watching from old South Wales in the UK 🏴
