As always another review done very well. You’ve become my go to on disc reviews and I look forward to every one that you put out. Thank you for your efforts and opinions. Have a great holiday season.
Excellent review. Thanks for going through all this trouble for us. I bag 3 swords, I guess I’m like your brother. I would say spot on with your assessment.
Yes! Thank you! I’m liking the VIP Sword right now as favorite distance drivers for my arm speed. Think it’s got more glide than the Trespass. I do have a very well seasoned Ballista Pro get a little bit further. But the Sword is very dependable!
It’s a tough choice, but they are very close. I have been cycling in the VIP Swords with my Lucid Trespasses. I really liked that Tournament Sword my brother let me borrow for the comparison!
For what ever reason I have not had much luck with any of the "Air"" discs. Still, want to get 2 or 3 Air Swords to try out. Love the new Orbit Swords ! Not sure why they are working so well for me... They are not beat in yet so it will be interesting to see how they shape up with use...
Air discs are where I’m finding the biggest differences in the Trilogy lineups. The Air Maverick was not very understable! The Air Sword is a tailwind bomber as you would expect. Air Evaders were still super overstable! Etc, etc!!!
I lost my beat up sword last week and it was a slight transparent yellow color and the decal was hard to read as it seemed embossed or stamped. It seemed like it was older and actually found it on the course without a name on it. I had this driver dialed in so well at most people I played with made positive comments at my accuracy which was often was spot on. I was very proud of that disk and the only other disc in my bag that comes close to it is the TL. If anyone has a used one with the more flimsy plastic please let me know where to find one?
The VIP Air Swords come pretty flippy right out of the box! A lighter weight Sword in Tournament plastic would be the next step towards replacing it. I try to cycle 3-4 of the same favorite driver into the bag every couple rounds so I keep seasoned ones in the rotation. Hope someone turns up with you gem!
The different flight number on the tournament sword is probably because it's an older disc and made before they revamped trilogy flightnumbers to be more consistant across the board. I have a moonshine sword at home also btw.. =)
Thank you Joey! I did compare the Lucid Trespass, VIP Sword and new Grace a few month ago. Brand new Trespass slightly more fade than Sword. Like both of them as “control” distance drivers. Here’s link to that review: ua-cam.com/video/EjBJyeuPJjE/v-deo.html
Yes! The Grace is special! I’m concerned about availability and price on committing to that mold. I like discs to be readily available and replaceable.
@@BeaverBranch very understandable. The good news is that it's a new run of disc so it's not like it will go out of production any time soon but the question is can they keep up? This new royal line plastic is amazing and everyone wants it..
I’m hoping to check the VIP X Sword sometime soon! The plastic looks awesome! My guess is it would be close to the stability of tue TPX from last year.
Tournament and VIP Air are both available in the states currently at DD! The Air was fairly unstable and the Tournament was the next level up. If you’re just looking to move up in speed the Air may be the best option! If it is too flippy, then you would be ready for the Tournament. I think the Sword is a very underrated disc and compares to the Trespass and the Grace.
@@BeaverBranch absolutely! I bet the vip x is the most stable of them all! Just because my vip seems a little more stable than my tourny. And im loving your comparison vids these are great for people looking to buy new discs or different plastic in molds they already have. Keep it up!
@@adammontgomery9752 the VIP being more stable than TP is unique to the Sword. For instance, I’ve found that the Fuzion (same plastic as TP) is more stable for Trespasses than Lucid (same as VIP).
@@BeaverBranch absolutely i used to throw the king for backhand distance but its too unpredictable. If you do accidentally turn over a sword its just different than other discs its more forgiving
Very sneaky I have a beat in Ballista Pro as a max distance and the VIP Sword hangs! On a raw brand new throw the Trespass did have a little more stability. The thing I think the Sword may have more of than the Trespass is glide. I feel like it’s a point higher. Otherwise very similar discs in VIP and Lucid plastics!

Thank you, and you too! It’s a lot of fun. I need to upgrade and get a camera and computer one day! Appreciate your support!
Great video. Love my Sword and Renege
You rock, man. You got a great field to test in. Ideal actually, with the dark green backdrop, you can see the discs great! Keep it up!
Thank you Eric O! I’ll keep it rocking!
I have a Tournament-X Sword in the same color. Absolutely LOVE how stable that run is! Great disc!
I agree! I think the TPX is a little more stable than the VIPX. Great compliment to the regular VIP or the TP runs!

I just bought a Tournament Sword 171g and it bombs 💣 🔥 great review!
Thank you Donald! I think Swords are very underrated! They do bomb!
Great review. I thought about getting a Sword, but really love my Trespass for that slot.

Hoping your well bro, love my swords this week throwing em
I think the Sword may be the most underrated control distance driver in the Trilogy line up. Trespass as well. Very similar flights for both.
For what ever reason I have not had much luck with any of the "Air"" discs.
Still, want to get 2 or 3 Air Swords to try out.

@@BeaverBranch Indeed. For me the Air discs are more overstable than other versions. Sometimes wildly overstable.

Great review Brian. Really exciting to see the flight of the tournament x sword. Really curious how similar it is to the trespass

Just watch it and I'm liking the flight of the grace for a speed 11.. now I have to buy 1 lol

@Joey Miller - I think they are great discs! The next one is a 7 speed same specs as an Explorer!
Nice video. Curious what you would think of the VIP-X Sword that was released this year
I’m hoping to check the VIP X Sword sometime soon! The plastic looks awesome! My guess is it would be close to the stability of tue TPX from last year.
Thank you! This motivated me to compare the TPX and VIP X this morning! Here you go:

Very nice review.
If I can get my 7 speed instinct weight 173 out to around 300 what plastic would you recommend I’m think either tournament or vip air

Wish u couldve had the vip x sword also
Sorry didn’t have VIP X Sword at the time! I may have one soon! Interested how stable it is in comparison to the TPX!

The tourny sword is the best straight bomber would recommend this disc to any avid player
IMO the Sword is a hidden gem in the control distance slot!

Sword has sneaky distance and seems to be slightly more stable than most of my trespass’s.

swords are sweet, sidearm these and there gone. wonderful practice disc in very low wind
I agree they aren’t very good in headwinds! Great in tail winds and back shoulder left to rights!
The sorcerer is more comparable to the trespass the sword is like a beat in musket
The current new run of VIP Sorcerors are pretty flippy.
ur brother is scooter crunch?
Yes! You know Scooter?
