    Your disc comparisons are the best I've seen on youtube. I love how you show the disc rims and profile while also covering multiple, accurate throws on varying angles. I hope the algorithm starts serving out this content to more folks!

    Thank you for all the reviews that you do!! I also throw Trilogy discs exclusively. You were one of the first I found when looking for reviews and you do an excellent job with your testing methods. Keep it coming it’s appreciated!!

    I don't have a Stag, but I love my Saint. Your review on the River was good also. Love my River too. You make it look very easy lol. I subbed your channel.

      Thank you, thank you! Access to discs to review dried up. Wish I could get some of the newer stuff that has come out!

    Great review and comparison. I have all three of these discs that move in and out of my bag depending on the course.

    Great review. I have Escapes in Lucid plastic and use them for driving, flick flip up hyzers and rollers. The Stag looks great too👍

      Thanks Roger! I really like the Stag, but it’s a tough switch. The Escape is consistent in what it does and I have 3-4 if them circulating in and out of the bag currently!

    Great review. I bag a Stag and Escape. The Stag is almost pop top and goes really nice and straight I'd say a fade of 1. Sits nicely between my Explorers and Escape& Musket.

    got a regular (non glimmer) stag and it was somewhat stable in the beginning flew according to numbers but with time got a little more flippy so just need some hyzer out of the hand. Bought stag because I lost my old L64 Vision driver I loved and stag is the closest to it

    1:00 a good tunnel shooting disc? your tunnels sure are loooooong for it to take an 8 speed! I use a Ghost for tunnels that require a sharp fade at the end, and a Shark for less extreme situations (and putting, and midrange)

    I have a blue stag. The one shot that I really love it for is a big arcing anhyzer. It just doesn't come out of it and holds the line the whole way. It would be interesting to get a different color one to see if it would be more stable then my blue one.

    • @BeaverBranch
      @BeaverBranch  2 роки тому

      S & C - this is the second time I’ve heard the claim that blue plastic in the Trilogy lineup is less stable than the other (lighter) colors. If I can get the discs together, I may have to investigate this! I do know the pink VIP “sparkle/glimmer” Stags had some stability when I threw them.

    Love my stag man and the warship is my favorite mid, it’s amazing and glides far. Great comparison! Thinking of a hatchet too but don’t think it’s be much different than the stag and I need something a little less understable anyway.

    • @BeaverBranch
      @BeaverBranch  Рік тому +1

      Thank you DrewG! Stags and Warships are great disc choices! Westside has some underrated discs in my opinion! The Hatchet stands up (straightens) a little easier than the Stag, and will move left to right easier too. It’s a really good tunnel disc, but arguably the Stag is too!

    Great timing as always. Recently been looking at the Stag and needed a review. Do you think Stag works for lower arm speed?

    • @BeaverBranch
      @BeaverBranch  2 роки тому +1

      I think the Stag would work as a right to left hyzer disc for slower arm speeds. It doesn’t take too much to straighten (about the same amount of speed as an Escape or Saint). The River and Maverick better for even lower arm speeds.

      @@BeaverBranch recently got a river in a player pack, lower arm speed rec player... river moves a lot more in the air for me, have a stag on the way but right now I use a heat or mantis in that slot. They seem to flip up and ride straighter and not finish as hard as a river, it goes in the bag for water shots lol. It has its place but little too much s movement for my taste.

    • @BeaverBranch
      @BeaverBranch  2 роки тому +1

      @@chrisblair3081 I feel like the Stag takes a little more arm speed to straighten than the River. I’m not sure about the other discs you mentioned I haven’t thrown them. I currently bag an Opto River. I like it for straight shots with a little finish (with lower to moderate arm speed). The Stag has not made the bag as that slot is filled with the Escape at the moment. I do like the Stag, it’s just I have 3 Escapes rotating in and out of the bag now!

      @@BeaverBranch my bag leans toward discraft but there's a few holes for me and I'm branching out lol. Guess you're escape would be my undertaker... that 8 and 9 speed -2 turn 2 fade valkyrie and mantis like disc that has more forward fade is what I'm on the hunt for now. Was hoping the river was it but the turn and fade on the 2 I have are more like -3 turn and -3 fade, too much left to right movement in the woods for me... trade ya 2 rivers barely thrown for some stags lol

    Are the metal flake lucid ones hard to find? All of these look great but a little extra stability would be helpful.

    • @BeaverBranch
      @BeaverBranch  2 роки тому +1

      I don’t think so. They are sometime called pink (or white) “sparkle.” The extra stability is nice.

    I'd like to see how this disc compares to the lat64 explorer

    • @BeaverBranch
      @BeaverBranch  2 роки тому +1

      @Nathan Phillips - The Explorer is more stable than the Stag. The Stag is easier to straighten/turn. Not too far apart from one another. I know that I can throw the Explorer harder and still depend on it staying straight or fading, where the Stag at that arm speed would stay straight or even get over right.

      @BeaverBranch  2 роки тому

      @Magnus - it’s a really nice disc! I can see why it’s your go to! Right now my go to in the woods are the Maverick, River and Escape. The Stag may knock the Escape out of the bag! Grace is a great disc!

      The Maverick for me was my first disc that i learned how to hyzerflip! But now its to flippy for me! Now when i have the stag i took it out the bag and now its on my wall as a desplay disc. My brother have a River in gold plastic and its his workhorse in the woods.

    • @BeaverBranch

      Is the River in Gold plastic more stable than Opto? I’ve been finding in general Gold more stable than Opto, Tournamnent more stable than VIP, and Fuzion more stable than Lucid in the Trilogy lines.

      @@BeaverBranch How do the River and Maverick differ in flight for you? And when do you use which? I have both quite new and they fly very similar to me. Maybe don’t have the arm speed/form yet to get the full flight.

    I've heard people say the color makes a difference in stability and I've always rolled my eyes at that BUT, I swear the lighter blue trilogy discs have less stability. Every one I've ever seen at least has exhibited this

    • @BeaverBranch
      @BeaverBranch  2 роки тому

      The pink run of plastic in the video was Lucid and VIP glimmer (glitter/metal flake) look to it. It was noticeably more stable. I’ve never noticed with the blue plastic in general. I’m definitely going to check that out!

    Do you have any experience with the DD Maverick? How does it compare to the stag?

    • @BeaverBranch
      @BeaverBranch  2 роки тому

      @OnkelBryce - I did a review on the Maverick and the River a bit ago. I would say that the Stag is a little more stable and definitely has more glide! I love the Maverick but more for the straight shot and sometimes slight finish right. Here a link to that review:

      @@BeaverBranch I guess my new question would be: would you bag both the Maverick and the stag? Or would you bag one over the other.
      I bag a Maverick and love it, but sometimes wish it has a touch more stability. I was considering buying a VIP-X stag, but I'm not sure if that plastic would be a bit to over stable. Anyways thanks for the information.

    • @BeaverBranch
      @BeaverBranch  2 роки тому

      @OnkelBryce - Yes I would bag both and would use them for different shots. The Maverick is one of the most amazing straight and late hyzer flip discs out there! Awesome for hyzer releases that flip up and turn right (once you get your angle and arm speed tuned in). The Stag I could see using as a straight tunnel shooter with some fade back left at the end. The Stag will anhyzer when thrown on the correct angle, but that’s what I use the Maverick for. I would say in my bag the Stag would be right between the Maverick and the Explorer, and would probably replace my Escapes.
