    Whenever I go to manila, I usually stay in BGC and pretty much stay in the area the whole time. Everything is within walking distance and the streets are very pedestrian friendly. I've never gotten on a bus or on the train there. I just book a grab every time if I wanna go somewhere else and it couldn't be more convenient. I would personally avoid getting on the regular taxis. The ones in manila are infamous for trying to rip off passengers specially if you're getting on from the airport.

    Everyone gets this oh its heaven from looking at videos, go live it. Literally jist go for a couple of weeks or a month. Rent a place right downtown for that time and then see how you truly live and spend there. Then take into consideration everything because think might be surprised once you actually set foot there and spend some time there. Btw make sure you do your homework for areas to stay out of as foreigner like Paco and Tondo and such.

    For the next filipino food mukbang.Try tapsilog or longsilog or tocilog which are the common filipino breakfasts( thus might only be available during breakfast time). While Bulalo, kaldereta, sinigang or tinola, pork bbq for a meal. Lumpiang shanghai for snack and sans rival, turon, bibingka, ube ice cream for dessert

    Well based on my experiences living in Ph when I was a kid, some buses can be pretty clean, sum can be dirty (not like gross),as well as the jeeps. But like you’ll probably find most of the buses clean. I do recommend watching out for ur personal stuff in ur pockets tho, I think there used to be a lot of people who pick pockets but it barely happens, but yeah, it’s rlly nice living in the Philippines

    Our buses has vastly improved, clean, airconed ones and safer. Summer time it is hot for non-airconeditioned buses. so you gonna sweat during your trip.
    But Grab is the efficient way. you are comfortable with the pick up and drop off.

    I have lived in Manila for over 10 years. I live on the outskirts of the cbd and am the only foreigner in my area, Everything is half the price again where I live, hamburger is 2 for 1$ , beer is 1$ trike ride 1$ and jeepnee is 8 piso ( 20 cents) I have never had a problem in jeepneys or buses, The people are so shocked to see a foreigner that they just stare at you most times. Also the Philippines is a very safe country. I have been here permanent for over 10 years and 50% of time for 10 years before that. In the whole time I have never seen a fight on the street. the only fights I have seen are between drunk foreigners in the red light districts. people here are respectful, look after each other, poor rich or in between. Always smiling, laughing and having a great time, no matter where or what they are. The people who sort trash have the biggest smile on their faces, trike drivers, jeepney drivers, security guards, everyone always smiling. Great place to live.

    i have to remind myself constantly “you get what you pay for”. yes the scenery in the videos are nice but a lot of the things and quality of service that we take for granted in the US are missing here. it can be very frustrating so i keep in mind “it’s cheap, it’s cheap, it’s cheap” to live here. also note that the heat, the humidity, the smells, and mosquitoes don’t come through in the videos.

    • @DonchiReyes
      @DonchiReyes 3 роки тому

      I can say that the quality of service that you will get in the Philippines is on par or above excellence than in the US. It depends on your attitude towards service people. I have to disagree with the smell, not unless you are in a slum area well that is a different story. Mosquitoes and bugs are seasonal and still depending on which area you will live in. Cheers!

    Airconditioned buses are clean. It gets really jam-packed though during rush hours (so as the metro trains). Rush hours around 5 AM to 8 to 9ish in the morning and 5 PM to 8 PM. You might want to avoid those hours. As someone who works at night, I avoid taking buses (esp. late at night). Personally, I am afraid. But, I have co workers who do and they are just fine.
    Jeepneys are the cheapest, thus it comes with inconveniences as well. It gets really hot sometimes as it is an open air ride and in getting in and out, you have to bend forward and watch for your head. You may ride 1 for experience though. :)
    For convenience and comfort, I personally use Grab (similar to Uber). There are taxis as well, but, sometimes they get picky during rush hours.

There are lots of cheap apartments for rent here and you just need to make an inquiry with the locals like me living here to avoid expensive rents. It doesn't matter if you're in the city of Manila or not, you will find these cheap rentals. 🙂

For the water bill , I usually only pay for $6 a month 🙂. It's really cheap here in my country. Fir the transportation I only spend $40 good for 1 month back and forth from wok to home hone to office. It really depends on your lifestyle.

    The best place to be living close to Manila is i would say is Tagaytay. Its higher elevation makes it bearable during hot months. Its also more modern. In some places the electric grid is underground and so you wont see ugly spaghetti electric wires everywhere. Other option is Baguio very underrated city. I would say food is alot cheaper (if you cook at home alot) the downside its less options amenities than manila. Again these places are a lot cooler weather since at high elevation. Don't get me wrong manila is nice but its expensive in the long run 5-10 years in.
