Mononoke that's an incorrect usage of the word ramen, ramen is a type of Japanese dish and people began to buy ramen that's easy to make at home because the actual dish requires a lot of time and cooking skills. So, this new type of packeted ramen were actually instant noodles. When new types of instant noodles (not ramen) came up, people began o label them as ramen as well.

As an asian, I don't understand why this is so weird or different? I have experienced putting egg in my ramen since, I dont know, 3? We cook it with other stuff too like leafy veggies or any other veggies to make it into a more satisfying meal.
I was kinda shocked as well, lol. I can't tell you how many of my friends who were pleasantly surprised when I told them you can add various foods into instant ramen to make it better.

Try this.
Boil 2 packs of noodles, add the flavor pack.
Cut onion, paprika and saussages into tiny pieces, then cook them on a frying pan, add some pepper and garlic poweder then mix.
Ones the onion is soft and saussages. Ad little bit of tomato sauce for cooking, just a little bit.
Then you take them noodles, when theyre cooked. Stir it into the saussage onion mix.. all toghetter..
And then its ready. You will need only half an onion and paprika and can add as much as u want saussages. Now this is my own recepie, and ilove this. When its done right it will taste heavenly..

Sadly, you are incorrect. There is ramen that you cook on the stove and there is instant cup noodle ramen. Many people (non-Asians) eat the cooked version, just like what was seen in this video.

There is Instant Ramen that you cook on a stove. There is also real Ramen that you cook on a stove.
Instant Cup Ramen is indeed Instant Ramen, but Instant Ramen also comes in non-cup packed form that you need to cook for a few minutes.
Just because you need to cook it does not automatically mean it's not Instant Ramen, their noodle quality are different.

ramen is an umbrella term. It is technically ramen, the package says "Ramen instant noodles" although there are places that have fresh ramen, instant noodles are kinda faux ramen, in the same way that mcdonalds chicken nuggets arent real chicken made fresh and all that, its still technically counts as chicken and counts as chicken.
