That's beautiful! I've seen many of your videos and love them all. 1st: You should have 20 times the subs. 2nd: Great to see a young man into woodworking. 3rd: If you can to that with the few tools you have, Can't wait to see what you do with an entire shop full like most guys on UA-cam have. 4th: Will someone PLEASE get this young man several sponsors/tools/shares/likes and subs! Keep up the great work and content. Keep this up and I have no doubt you'll be rewarded.
@@mrjibrhanjamalkhan2144 people like you are what's wrong with the world. The OP was giving the young man some well deserved kudos for his efforts, and you troll him for it? What have you done worth praise? Where is your content? You're just a hater. Get a life.
I just binge watched 4 of your videos and I don't understand why the algorithm hasn't pushed your content better. The way you go about woodworking is really fun to watch. Subbed.
I'll buy a set of plans when they're up. IMO the handle should pivot down so the grip lands on the edge of the upper compartment (out of the way) & at same time levers up the gear thereby pushing out the drawers. Lots of paste wax req'd.
Josh oh my goodness your work is fabulous. My husband started watching you last night and he was so taken with your work that now he is absolutely addicted to watching you. He is 47 years old and he has been a welder his whole life and he just retired from it about 3 years ago and he has been trying his hand at wood working. He has watched countless videos and has learned alot but none have helped him as much as you have. Most of the people he has watched while they have been master craftsmen has had a shop of what I call "the wish list shop". I have told him baby put that on the list and we will see about next Christmas...lol. You however are making these most beautiful and wonderful pieces of craftmanship with the same exact tools that he currently has and you have taught that old man some fabulous tip and techniques. Oh and by the way in you doing this you have added to my own wish list of honey I really want one of those so will you make that for me... So yeah thanks for that. But I just want you to know that you are a blessed young man and you have a great talent and even if you may not I think you are a master craftsman and boy your momma is a lucky woman.
Mind blown! Phenomenal! Impressive! Design and build quality are both masterful! You appear to be working safely too! And you are 16-17 right? AMAZEBALLS! SO IMPRESSIVE! I AM SUBSCRIBED AND AM EXCITED TO SEE ALL THAT YOU ACCOMPLISH! STAY HUMBLE AND SAFE! YOU ARE A GENIUS AND AN ARTIST! ALWAYS DO WHAT YOU LOVE!
Really cool. Another idea is having the gear work opposite.. when you pick it up, it lifts the handle and closes everything.. put it down and everything opens. Maybe you could delete the lock that way :)
Beautiful piece. Hope it's with you for a lifetime. :) One of a kind! Would like to see how you are populating the drawers. And any spin-off videos to expand on the project.
Thank you! I actually gave it to my dad so I guess it is up to him what he wants to put in it. He is an electrician and he asked me to make him a simple toolbox for his job stuff about a month ago. I got a little carried away and end up making this. He says it is too nice to beat up on a jobsite so he will probably just keep it on his desk to hold drafting/drawing stuff. I'll have to make a simpler one he can throw around some time soon. I'll probably make a small follow-up video to show the inner workings soon.
@@JoshWrightWoodworking that's a lovely gift! But he would really impress his customers and the others on any job site with that tool box! I guess someone might also walk off with it. It's a treasure! If you're making another one, I think he needs some secret compartments to keep small stuff from wandering off, but only he would know what those specific tools are. And maybe he would like some specialized holders for his other tools or jigs. Have you seen Patrick Sullivan's Instant Access Tool Center? I've been following him way before the "end grain glue myth" that has so interested everyone. I really like his approach to design. The tool center is for bench top use, and my son and I made one last year for my spouse's electronics lab work bench. Trying to keep little tools from getting buried. Our prototype seems to be working. But I've wondered if the concept could be adapted to a portable tool box. Have to keep the weight down. We didn't use any fancy wood -- instead made a prototype out of pine 2x4's and such, to try out the locations. I already know several design decisions that could be improved. We just use buckets with liners and pockets for most of our various sets of tools. Plumbing bucket. Painting bucket. Carpentry buckets. But the electrical is in an open tote and I've not stopped to think how well that is working. What I've noticed is lots of small extra components get dropped into the tote -- wire nuts, etc. -- and it becomes quite a mess. Your dad's work habits may differ. Have fun! :) Thanks for sharing your projects. Always interesting!
Amazing built indeed! I agree with all comments saying this was such an intricate and unique project! Also, my advice after sanding is using a lightly wet towel to gather all the finer dust that is still "sticking" Also,(number two) Really love how your workplace is shaping up!
Fantastic looking tool box i think this is your best build to date the detail is amazing, please pass on my thanks to your grandpa for giving you the wood.
Unacceptable! Forgetting to film so much, what are you thinking? Just kidding :0) I am happy to have found your channel. Thank you so much for all of the slick content you have been putting out great job! Keep up the good work and thanks again for sharing. You are an inspiration!
If I'd build a second version of this, I'd probably swap the gears so that the handle pulls on the big gear, also I'd switch sides of the levers for the handle so it opens when you push down on it, that way you don't need the locks because the weight of the box will keep it closed when you carry it. Awesome first iteration though.
This is just awesome! Keep up the great work man you will go far with your ability!! I'm not a fan of the split screening myself but that's just 1 man's respectful opinion 😁
Awesome work mate. I would just put the handle on the opposite side of the gear wheel so that when you pull it up the drawers actually close. That way you ensure everything will remain shut when the box is lifted, just by using gravity
Yes phenomenal! Im a aging beginner so thums down on spit screens. Would like longer still shots on the points you are discussing. Allow us viewers to soak it in as they say. We need a second or two more time. .beautiful working gear Box! Cheers!
Please do a video on how you come up with your designs and plans as while this toolbox and your wood skills are amazing, the design is even more so. Well done sir!
A lot of brainstorming went into this build! It's almost like a "secret" toolbox...like a bookcase that is really a door! An invention! Did you give it to your Grandpa? Oh, the split-screen is confusing...I prefer to focus on one screen.
Thank you! It did take a lot of thinking. I ended up giving this to my dad but I'll have to make something for my grandpa as a thank him for the wood some time soon. Thanks for the input on the split screen. You are of the majority on that opinion and I understand why. I probably won't use that edit again, at least not until I can find a way to make it easier to follow.
If you cut the gears out of brass yes it would be heavy but they would work properly and look ridiculously awesome. I definitely am subscribing to see your craft continue

“I don’t normally get to work with a lot of hard woods, because they’re so expensive“
Finally. A real hobbyist!

OMG! That is the coolest toolbox I've ever seen. Very unique and badass!
I am speechless, Josh Wizard!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
This is a whole new level of amazing! There just aren't words.
You have a real talent for joinery. A pleasure to observe!
I am blown away, keep doing what you do best 👏👏👏👏👏
Ohh brother, you are a really genius, that work is excellent.
Impressive. Seriously impressive.
Another great project. We'll done.
Yeah...I'd buy the plans. Dude!!! This is amazing.
Dude that's freaking awesome!
That is simply beautiful.
Looks good bro
The skill of this man is on point.
Yessssir
I really enjoyed watching this! I was stressed (work) but now I am kinda relaxed again. Kinda..
Ingenious. Thumbs up and thanks for posting.
I’ve watched many of your videos, but this one truly shows your exceptional craftsmanship. Thank you for sharing
Awesome Build, museum worthy!

Same, plz post some!
A channel that really deserves to blow up. Great work.
From watching your videos for years, I'm not surprised at this build. Amazing.
Good job!!
I am impressed, you are a master craftsman.
You are so talented. You need to start charging for your plans. I would absolutely buy plans, I just watched your mirror with hidden storage, WOW!
Unique for sure
Pretty darn amazing!
That is a work of art
Wow! You are an amazing young man. Love your work.

The side by side is great. If I need to see each part, I can rewind it, otherwise, it shows the work without dragging it out.
phenomenal piece
Amazing mate true craftsman
Fantastic Well Done.
Holy cow! Awesome!
Very creative. Nice work.
Really cool.

Maybe you could delete the lock that way :)
I was thinking the exact same thing. One doesn't want to be carrying this tote when the lock comes undone and it opens.
I am so impressed! I wish I'd gotten into woodworking at your age instead of my 50s! Excellent job!
Absolutely awesome
A piece of artwork 👍👌
Amazing man! Ur a pro already!

Dont like split screen, nice job 👍🏻
You are a skilled craftsman forsure i wish u would teach us how and what u are doing
That's an amazing toolbox!
By the way, do you know your website still has 'beginner woodworker' on it? I think you're well past that stage now!
Very nice!🙌💜
Che meravigliosa opera d'arte, complimenti di cuore.

awesome work, I could not pull something like that off at 50, much less your age.
Very nice! You've definitely hit the next level. Dewalt should be sending you free stuff st this point.
I vote yes for split screen :-) 1:55
