First
Nice 😁
dammit i wanted to be first for once I blame phil for that
OLD
@@shifty2755 what's old?
that is not a flex. it's actually rather sad
Calling CEX a "Repair Centre" is like calling an Abattoir a "Veterinary Hospital"....
LOL
lmao
Hilarious
TheCod3r the great has done it again showed a repair shop how its done well done great job bud.
Thanks buddy
Well done, I can safely say if I have any issues you're the first person I'm asking for help.
I just can say amazing. Every Consol repair with one shot. You doing grate man 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Well done mate! Solid tutorial as usual. 👍
Great vid phil and great title to…so now if someone else is having that problem ..the fact u titled it with d error code ..It will most likely show ur video and it will definitely help people …as always good work
Thanks mate. Yeah I kind of figured I needed the error to get it to show up to people searching for it lol
Love to watch you, I have learned alot !!

Another great result , well done .
Fantastic you got it working finally! Respect Phil! Greetings from Germany.. Michael
Thanks buddy
Find these videos fascinating and strangely relaxing
Dios te bendiga, Excelente trabajo, te vemos desde Colombia, el contenido de tu canal es excelente
great video, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I would like to add one thing that maybe some folks watching may not know that if you leave the cap off of the IPA bottle it will absorb water from the air and eventually it will turn into 70% alcohol 30% water. It is important to cap the bottle.
great job man. great channel. love the videos. keep it up
Noice job phil! Showin these "pros" how a pro really does it!
First time watching this, he’s good nice job bro. Subscribed ❤️
long time i aint seen ya man
didnt know you did this stuff
good man
Loved the tutorial, direct, exact and to the point, you're obviously a local lad to me as we have the same accent , lol
Cheers mate, where about you from?

Another one fixe , good work Phil. That is why you are the master😏
Thanks buddy
Congrats phill great fix bud
Great!
In this cases the suction pen is really helpful!
Great as allways. just cleaned out my PS4 Pro the other day was not that dusty.. for being a 2nd hard system :)
Take care. and great Videos as allways.. Learn so much from you guys. :)
From Another Phil :)
To be honest they only really need cleaning out around every 18 months. I generally do mine and the kids' consoles every 12 months though just for the sake of it.
Cheers mate, glad people are finding the videos useful 👍
I love watching your videos
Great video thank you
Genuinely fascinating. Great video
Most excellent Phil!
Yes man! Nicely job!
I have no knowledge of any of this but I found this fascinating. Subbed.
Thanks mate, much appreciated
2:33 There a simple way around that those cheap HDMI splitters strip away the HDCP, you can connect one HDMI to your TV and another to your capture card and it will work just fine.
Or just turn hdcp off in the settings
@@TheThewonderman When opening a game HDCP is always on by default regardless of that setting.
Awsome fix big man👍👍
Awesome work.
Great job and video
Excellent Job. Also subbed to you
Well done you are amazing😊
Good job!
Solid tutorial I could probably do this or id feel more comfortable after watching this
I don't have Hot air or the technical stuff though and i only have a Basic soldering Iron and a few cheap stands etc lol
you build a tool set over time though right ! i have more than i had a year ago and fixed My LG 3D TV with a similar process before so its a start i guess
Great job
Came across this video and thought wow I wish I had half the talent you do in fixing tech.... Would save me a fortune, honest question are you open to having a console or two sent to you to be fixed (obviously would pay for the service) but to be straight there are plenty of places that could fix my consoles for a fair price but seeing you do it kinda just gives me more confidence in you than them lol.
It's possible mate, with practice 😀 but yeah I do take repairs from customers, it's my main source of income. Most repairs I charge around £50-£70 depending on the problem and what needs to be repaired or replaced
Fantastic video again mate.thats really helped me out alot learning how to do this and what process is involved.i have a ps4 original to try and fix with a similar problem.just need to find it on the board.
Thanks mate. If it's a controller connection issue on the OG PS4 the WiFi module is just next to the ethernet port ;)
@@TheCod3r thank you Phil.yeah the controller connects for about 30mins to the console then disconnects.ive never done one before but I'm like Wayne just learning although Wayne is alot better than me lol.keep up the good work mate I really appreciate the videos does help me out alot learning
Damn superb repair
Amazing I know what expect from you 💯👍🏾🕺🏼
brilliant mate
hey, just subscribe, going to be slowly watching all your videos, may i ask how is your chair ? if its good have you got a link, mine is worn out lol, im in the electronic repairs trade.
Awesome stuff
Amazing Job, You Should have your own business one day
Watching guys like this make the solder work etc real simple. Not the diagnostic obv but when it comes to trying urself u end u with a broke chip, solder all over the board and scorch marks everywhere with melted ps board . lol..oh darn.
Lol just keep practicing bud, you'll get better and it'll get easier to do :)
Excellent repair fella. CEX don't really take anything apart as it's not cost effective for them.
Yeah they're a waste of everyone's time mate
Aye, you take something in to cex, they say come bk in 1 hr and when you return it's in the exact state as before. No evidence it has been worked on. And they say " we cant fix it"
well done to you
Nice video
Nice job
I've got an Xbox one x Scorpio edition with the same sticker. Didn't realise it came from CEX. I have more confidence that I can fix it now
Yeah CEX are a waste of everyone's time mate unless it's a HDMI port
Iirc for consoles at least, they send it off to an actual repair place and just charge you more. For Manchester cex its a place in Liverpool, you can actually go to them direct to get it done cheaper (unless it's under warranty ofc)
Great job mate 👍 👏 so enjoy your videos 📹 😊 please keep them coming 🙏 👍 and here to help get your videos 📹 😉 out to everyone 😀 😊....cheers mate
Thanks buddy much appreciated
Hi, great job m8, I have an Xbox one s and Xbox one x, both need hdmi (no signal) to tv replacing, I’ll be in touch on your website 👍👍👍👍👍
Good stuff, showed how to fix it with cheap gear !
Cool channel, you from Cannock?
I have an iPhone SE 2020, it fell off the top of a moving car. I replaced the screen but following that, it had the Apple logo and nothing else. Took it to a shop and they believe it to be the Nand chip, as I couldn't factory reset it. It's literally just sitting in a cup now, with the screen and other parts removed. Is a reballing of the Nand/replacement very difficult for these? I would love to get it working again.
I literally had a cex advert pop up haha. They are watching!! Lol
Haha look out, CEX lawyers about 👀 😂
Excellent video. Very thorough and informative. I've not used balls on those modules I just put a generous amount of solder on the pads and hot air it back on.
Thanks mate. Yeah some people just tin them, it works, I just never have luck doing it that way lol
Could you send a link to whatever you are wearing?
Thank.
Hi Phil great video, good to someone in the UK doing some quality vids. I have a ps4 pro 1tb never opened (I removed the stickers as I was going to have a go but thought better of it!) Would u b interested in it? Its exactly yhe same symptoms and I gaurentee its never been touched apart from taking the hdd out and putting back in!)
What qualifications or courses do I need to do to learn how to do this kind of stuff. Super interesting.
hy! can you do the same tehnique of reballing with the APU?will it work? or you have to do it with a machine?thanks!!
i really like your vids.......
wow, that is some kind of amazing :)
bravo 👏
Great job Phil another PS4 saved from death
Being from the states I’m not familiar with CEX but I’m assuming they are like our ‘Best Buy’ big electronics retailer… in my experience with large places like that they end up not being able to fix anything without basically reselling you the same product except brand new to then offer you extended warranty that covers “repair and labor for repair” 🤣
It's kind of like your gamestop mate, basically a franchise with very little actual repair skill or ability yet they advertise "advanced board repairs" lol
@@TheCod3r
I doubt they have any inhouse repairers, my guess is they just use local small phone repair shops that basically usually just swap LCDs and unlock/unblock phones and replace the odd drive on consoles. They probably just pulled the HDD out and tried a good one then gave up.
they rip people off who are dumb enough to sell anything there. CEX is scum.
more like game stop but Yes they are terrible pay rubbish prices Apound or two more expensive than competitors and fussy about easy fixes i would dread to see their e waste after a year
In ameica you might of heard of cex when they where charging nearly double the price for preowned ps5's, am sure they were about £850. I know channels over there heard bout it, spawnwave, mystic and other gaming focused channels
Respect for not updating his console. 👍
Hey bro what else could cause this issue because I've replaced the southbridge AND the bt/wifi module 3x each
nice repair....i got a question, what size solder balls would you need to reball the major bga components on the ps4's? ram, apu, bluetooth/wifi, southbridge to be exact
Ram is generally 0.45mm, southbridge and apu are usually 0.5mm and wifi/Bluetooth is 0.76mm. Hope that helps mate
hello i have i ps4 pro that came with eject bouton working only, i replace southbridge then i got power but the contoller get no sync in safe mode, i replace this chip twice from same Rev 1.0 any help ???
Hi, if u have an PS4 1216b with dhsm-ps97, you can replaced with J20H091. Sincerely
"Never come across that ever before" - PC repair in a nutshell :D
I went to DEX on my PS3 and decided to go back to CEX and now I have a slight problem with controller sync. I can turn on PS3 with PS button then the controller will lose sync so I have to turn controller off and then hit PS button again to sync. Any fix to this??? Thx
This is amazing, where can I learn how to do this kind of work? Would going to college be where to start?
I learned by watching videos mate. I didn't take any courses or go to school for it
Saludos de mexico
Great video, my ps4 is having the same problems but no connection in safe mode? So cant just replace module? Thanks
Unfortunately if you get no connection in safe mode it's probably the southbridge at fault or the NOR flash rom, rather than the WiFi module
Amazing work my friend. We can all learn a lot here. Huge like 👍😎⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks mate much appreciated
I have a ps4 that does a beep and powers off straight away no display either can I send you it or what is wrong with it
Hey the cod3r for ps3 super slim wireless module is balls are 0.6 or 0.76 any idea pls? Thanks alott
ones again you are a fucking champion love you man thxs for all the help always!!!!!!
Great video as ussual..
I have a question.
I want to swap apu on a sac 001 motherboard, and besides the apu what is the other components that i have to swap to match with the apu? The nor and on the back of the board it is the renesas ic. So these 2 things is enough besides the apu? As i know these cimponent are married. If i remember correct you had a video about this where you tried to swap these things but i cant find the video.
Sorry for my english. Thank you.
I tried it on a live stream once but failed lol. It's the APU, Syscon, NOR, Secondary ram and the disc drive chip all married together
Before removing the faulty part would it be a bad idea to use a sharpy to mark around the edge prior to removal to simplify alignment of the replacement part?
The pads will pull it in line if you have it close enough you will feel it it’s hard to explain that’s how I’ve always done it the more you do it the better you will get but say you do mess up heat it back up don’t try and push or pull it so you don’t tear the pads off cheers
Another Great Fix by "THE" Cod3r!! So when you're taking a part from a donor board, you don't actually know if it works or not, until you try it, right? Also, I really like the Live Repairs, but I'm Old, and I sometimes fall asleep. Sorry.
Thanks buddy, and hey don't worry mate I appreciate all the support either way
Sorry missed a bit of this comment. Yeah the problem with donor parts is they might not work, but I tend to know the history of most of my donor boards so I'm usually OK:)
I might have missed something and I'm basically a nosey get. Why did you migrate to a loft space from your shed? 😄 Nice vid tho enjoy watching the shorter fixes 👍
Haha no worries mate. 2 reasons really, number one was security. The house is alarmed and full of cctv surrounding the property where as the shed wasn't, and the other reason was the cold weather lol
@@TheCod3r can't fault the logic there. I'd get some insulation up there 😄👍
Hi, my PS4 pro overheats. I replaced the thermal paste & pads. Unfortunately no difference its still overheating. Maybe someone knows playstation 4 pro thermal pads thickness?
Nice repair, new strange issues like this one with a potential solution will help many people down the road
Thanks mate, yeah hopefully people get some useful info from this one
hi Phil, is there a real difference in putting the solder balls onto the chip than when you clean it and put new solder on, as seems kinda the same thing, or when the balls are flowed there is more solder in the balls !
Kind of yeah, it's possible without reballing but it stands a chance of having the balls uneven which could cause it to sit uneven and not connect to the board properly
My ps4 has exactly this same problem and it only arose 1 week ago...how do I solicit for your services and how much would you charge to fix this?
Had multiple CEX "No repairs" come into my shop. One was a switch with bad USB C port, they had ripped off multiple pads trying to replace it and sent it back with "customer damage."
Wow I’m so happy I repair my own stuff that’s sad to do a customer like that
You can use a capture card on ps4 all you need to do is go into the settings of the ps4 and turn off hdcp
