Thank you for the video. I am really happy to see Tibetans in Tibet living their own peaceful lives today. I used to read a book written by a girl who escaped to Europe after the liberation of Tibet, she said she didn't understand why the slaves she used to rescue opened the gates of the city to welcome the liberation army into the city, until I read that she said the girl's parents were serfs at home and were chopped up and fed to the dogs for stealing, and that it was only after her pleas that her parents allowed the girl to live, but that they ended up betraying her by opening the gates of the city to welcome the liberation army. She would not treat the serfs as human beings, nor would she understand the heart of the serfs who longed for human dignity and a peaceful life. As the Tibetan said at the end, may there be peace in the world. May the people be happy.

I asked him “why don’t british live a 18th century lifestyle to keep the tradition and let tibetans travel to london to find a peace for their heart?” Tibetans are also human beings like you westerners not a symbol, who also deserves a modern life! but anyway it’s ccp’s fault, ofc.

Also, he needed to be educated about the fact that "Many foreigners do not know that Tibet was a feudal society before 1951, and the status of serfs was very low. Human skin was used to make drums and "art". Under the leadership and persistence of Mao Zedong, the army eliminated some evil forces and freed millions of serfs, liberating the entire Tibet and starting to build roads, provide poverty relief, and enable people to live freely and happily in the harsh natural environment or choose to migrate. A few years later, like the Dalai Lama, these surviving Tibetan serf lords fled to foreign countries and joined many political enemies who opposed the Communist Party of China, and called for Tibetan independence, as only then could they continue to be their slave lords to oppress and exploit ordinary people." Zhou Yuecheng writes about these atrocities and shares photos on Quora. You can find it if you look up "How do Tibetans living in China feel about the Communist Party of China and its government?"

More than 20 years ago, I went to Tibet with a backpack when I graduated from college. It took 4 days to get from Beijing to Lhasa by train. There is only one asphalt road from Lhasa to Shigatse in Tibet, and most of the other roads are dirt roads. Even Tibetans living in the suburbs of Lhasa mostly live in tents. Except for highland barley noodles and yak milk products, other food is very scarce in Tibet. Today, Tibet has 9 highways, one high-speed railway and three under construction. The road network can lead to any remote village. 97% of young Tibetans receive modern education that respects local language and traditions. All Tibetan families have their own independent houses. Fresh vegetables and fruits can be eaten in any village in Tibet. The people here have the same right to live a better and happier life as other places.

Attention, especially foreigners, be sure to see this message because it is important for you to understand China, Tibet, and the West's smearing of China and fabrication of false history. First of all, let me tell you the difference between the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China. The Republic of China was a government group mainly composed of warlords and landlords, led by Chiang Kai shek, who is also today's Taiwan. The People's Republic of China, led by workers and farmers, resisted the oppression of warlords, landlords, and evil gentry. In the end, the Republic of China was driven to Taiwan, and workers and farmers achieved victory. The People's Republic of China was founded on October 1, 1949. The Chinese army liberated Xizang in 1951. Why did it liberate Xizang? Because during the Republic of China, Xizang was semi independent under the influence of India and the West. In order to regain Xizang, China must take back Xizang's sovereignty through military action. Note that it is important here: during the Republic of China, the people in Xizang were slaves, so we must be clear about this history. During the Republic of China era, people from Xinjiang were also slaves. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the People's Democratic Revolution was waged against Xizang and Xinjiang. The Communist Party liberated Xizang in Xinjiang, and then the people of Xizang in Xinjiang were freed from the oppression of slave owners. If the CPC had not liberated the people in Xizang in people in Xizang, the Tibetan people in Xinjiang would still be slaves. Many elderly people in Xizang have a head portrait of Mao Zedong. There are also many local folk songs of Xizang in Xinjiang, which are songs of thanking Mao Zedong. Why should we thank Mao Zedong? Because Mao Zedong let the Chinese army liberate Xizang in people in Xizang. The Tibetan people are no longer slaves, but the masters of the country. The PLA and the people in Xizang in Xinjiang built roads together, and distributed land to the people of Xizang in Xinjiang. The people thanked Mao Zedong. In Western media, it is all about smearing and reversing historical facts. The biggest villain is the Kuomintang of the Republic of China. This group of people is a vested interest group that oppresses and enslaves the people. They are warlords, landlords, and evil gentry who have oppressed the Chinese people for generations. It was Mao Zedong who led the Communist Party and saved the Chinese people. Therefore, Mao Zedong is like a bodhisattva and savior in the hearts of the Chinese people. Without Mao Zedong, there would be no Chinese people today. Hope, foreigners, if you are fortunate enough, you must purchase a set of "Selected Works of Mao Zedong" on Taobao. This set of books used to be the best-selling book in the world, so be sure to buy both Chinese and English versions because it is convenient for foreigners to read the content clearly. We can better understand the CPC and China's past, and better expose the Western smear on China. Thank you very much for reading it. We look forward to more foreigners coming to China for in-depth investigation and research. Finally, a reminder to foreign friends: Do not believe the rumors and smears about China spread by Western media and certain Chinese media on platforms such as UA-cam, Twitter, and Facebook. They are all bad people who have been driven away by the Chinese people, and most of them are descendants of warlords, landlords, and evil gentry.

The history of China and Tibet spans thousands of years and involves complex religious transitions and power struggles . Even a Chinese person can only understand a little after spending many years , and their opinions will vary depending on their subjective will . Now Tibet belongs to China , just like America is now the United States , the difference between the two , like in your film , Tibet has its own religion , writing , and beer , and now the Indians in the United States have what , casinos ? If you want to understand Tibet , you should first understand from the serfdom system in Tibet . Before the current government really ruled them , the average Tibetan was not even human。The above comments are not aimed at the blogger couple, their film is objective and impartial. This is my comment on another film before, and the reason for posting this is to hope that you have a simple understanding of Tibet.

Let me use to opportunity to bring awareness to the oppression of Tibetans. No, I am not talking about the Tibetans in China. I am talking about Tibetans in occupied South Tibet, which was annexed by India in 1951 and made a state by India in 1987 to become the so-called Arunachal Pradesh. The Tibetans in occupied South Tibet are fast becoming strangers in their own native homeland because the Indian government are settling Indians in the region to change the demographic structure of the region. The Indians like to mock them, calling them Chinese as a form of insult (sometime calling them names such as the C* word or the M* word.) Rape by Indians in occupied South Tibet is a major source of resentment of the locals to the Indian occupiers. Another thing is that India simply don't trust the locals and like to accuse them of being Chinese spy if they don't display enough loyalty to the Indian occupier. This area is tightly controlled by India with limited access to the outside world. In 2014 a Tibetan Chinese called Nido Tania went to Delhi and was beaten to death because he looked 'Chinese'. He case was hardly an isolated one. The Tibetans in occupied South Tibet are voiceless people because they are not the right kind of Tibetans, so their plight is ignored by the world at large. I have yet to hear from the Western media of any concern of human rights abuse of the Tibetans in occupied South Tibet by India. Free South Tibet from India.

Why do the Tibetan people worship the Communist Party and the People's Liberation Army, because the Communist Party brings them a new life, and they really have freedom rather than slavery and martyrdom. The People's Liberation Army has built a better Tibet for them, facilitated the lives of Tibetans, and also protected their peace.

..or the fact that the ccp hangs over their life in exchange of being compliant. The simple thing is, if you are not Tibetan, then don’t claim you know anything because you haven’t gone through shit, respect fully. There are millions of Tibetans living in exile who hear life stories from their grand parents about how life was under Chinas rule. Please seek out real refugee stories on Voice of Tibet.

    Hi, I'm here again!
The high altitude is really unfriendly to the burly men, but there is nothing shameful about breathing oxygen. It is a rule here that drivers breathe oxygen while driving, because even native Tibetans may not be 100% immune to altitude sickness. The terrible distance in Tibet means that once a dangerous situation occurs, calling for rescue is so unreliable. The driver is the safety guarantee of the whole car, and he is not allowed to be in danger. At least the government requires all precautions to be done. As for tourists, they usually fulfill their obligation to inform, but whether to buy commercial oxygen cylinders is the freedom of each tourist, and no intervention is given. After all, if I remember correctly, an oxygen tank the size of an insecticide costs about 200 yuan, which is not cheap.
As for toilets, I want to say that what you have encountered is much better than what I had at that time. The damn government always gives priority to satisfying foreigners (just a joke). In addition to Western and Chinese toilets, there is also a kind of toilet called dry toilet in our country. This kind of toilet is the most primitive and only exists in backward or difficult places. Believe me, if you have tried that, the squatting Chinese toilet, you will find it very pleasing to the eye. And usually public places in our country are not like Europe, where you have to pay to use them, but Tibet is an exception. You should be able to feel it in the local area. They still live in difficulty and the economy is backward, so at least for me, I can understand it. Speaking of economy, there is no industry in the entire Tibet Autonomous Region. They still rely on natural resources to obtain economic value, such as those cows for tourists to take pictures, including those cows you see on the road. Most of them are not wild, but the property of Tibetans. If you accidentally hit a cow or sheep while driving in Tibet, according to my tour guide, you have to pay 10,000 RMB in compensation. This is the economic pillar of the herdsmen, and you have just destroyed it. In addition, visiting Tibetan families is actually part of the tourism industry. To be honest, this is mixed with some elements of the Communist Party's external propaganda. But if you communicate with Tibetans, you will know that they used to live on mountains with an altitude of 6,000+. They made a living by digging precious Chinese medicinal herbs in the mountains, which is obviously very dangerous. In order to invite them down from the mountains, the government built a new village for them on the flat land at the foot of the mountain, and received tourists to visit and understand the lives of Tibetans, replacing the previous high-risk digging of herbs as a new source of income.
PS: I went there around 2020. Because of COVID-19, I enjoyed almost free super super low-priced air tickets to fulfill my wish to visit Tibet. At that time, hotels in Tibet were still at a primitive level. Even the hotels under Huazhu Club were only the most basic economy hotels. In comparison, your hotel is too luxurious. I am very happy that Tibet has achieved such development, but for some reason, it seems that your itinerary did not visit the Linzhi area, which is known as the Jiangnan on the plateau and is famous for its sea of forests. It is often arranged as the first stop into Tibet to better adapt to the high altitude of Tibet. If you went there first, the big strong man might not be as painful as he is now, hahaha.

Well written experience. I believe Nyingchi (you wrote Linzhi) is only at about 1000m. It doesn't provide much climatization for a sea level person to go up much higher. But Michael would have no high altitude sickness and enjoy the region much more. The best route is from Xining Qihai which is already at about 3000m. Stay there for a week and then go up to Lhasa.

I won't ask you to tell the history of Tibet to a worldwide audience, your videos have shown many people the real and beautiful Tibet, thank you.
The two photos hanging in the hall of the family you visited show our leaders through the ages on the left and the current leaders on the right.
It's not quite comprehensible to foreigners, just as it's impossible for Americans to hang photos of both Biden and Trump in their homes.
But I hope that foreigners who are interested in China, in our beautiful Tibetan region, can learn a little bit about the history of Tibet if you have the time.
It was once out of the control of the central government during the century or so of turmoil in our country, and the British got greedy for the place and used the local aristocracy to cooperate with their goal of dividing control of the place.
Before it was returned, before it was liberated, 99% of the ordinary people in the area lived in conditions worse than cows and goats, and lived a hellish life all their lives, where girls would be used by the aristocrats or lamas as a means of releasing their sexual desires, and boys would be expected to do all sorts of heavy manual work.
Even after their death, their skin, skulls and other human organs would be used to make all kinds of religious instruments or so-called "works of art".
This is why the local people have a high degree of acceptance of the State, because without the Communist Party, they would not have a happy life today, nor would they have dignity and equal rights.

The high-altitude sickness is not only because of low oxygen in the air, but also because of low atmosphere pressure which makes oxygen in your body evaporate much faster. Breathing out of oxygen tank can’t totally relieve the symptoms. A pressure pod equipped with oxygen supply will do. I hope someone can invent movable pressure pods for tourists. We may become walking laughing stocks for Tibetans, but at least we get to enjoy the scenery.
