"You guys...this room remains one of the great rooms to play. All these years later, it's just as unbelievably sick as it was the first time." Truer words, Trey...
10000000000% It took me back to the first time they played there. The sound is so good! 🚀 ⭕️ ❤
what was the room called in prior times?😊
@@draz0909 Ervin J. Nutter Center. I was lucky enough to see those shows in '95 and '97🔥🔥🔥

Old deadhead here. saw my first Phish show in Atlanta this summer. Ruby Waves was one of many highlights.
I absolutely loved the fact that there was no screens put up at the Nutter. Made an already intimate feel all the more.👍
This jam is why we Phish.
This is what it's all about..
Glory Chords > Evil Psychedelic Jam.. then Lifeboy! Wowsers. Been doing this for 30 years, and that was an all timer. All of the feels.
This is the peak of the Fall Tour right here...strong contender for best jam of 2023 (it's mine)...legitimately amazing stuff.
And to think the people on the Facebook group are all talking about how much they hate Ruby waves and it's so lame or which ones the "BEST", Alpine or Nutter 😂😂😂
how bout gimme it all please
i cant stop playing this groove on guitar its beautifully infectious
Ghosts of Forest is a dope album and after watching the Doc and knowing its greater meaning I freaking love it even more⭕️❤⭕️❤⭕️
This was my jam of the year no doubt.
My second show!
I was bumpin a lil special all show and finally slipped into the hole right at 1:51 then stayed there through the entire jam. Phuckin helluva rager. Pure cosmic bliss therapy.
I was on the floor in front of the board on the Mike side and was completely transported and transfixed.
I was there!!! Great jam! Even better when paired with the DWD that came before it.
For me Lifeboy was the perfect tune to follow that mayhem...
@@davidheathmiller definitely. It was much needed. Everybody in my section was exhausted after over 45 minutes straight of epic. Lol
Glad to have been in the room for this!
Legendary evening in Dayton, OH🎉 I legitimately thought this jam was ending 2-3 times but Page kept saying “hold my beer” and pushed this one into deep space 🔥🔥 shoutout to Brian, Jim and Seth for an amazing lot party both nights… greatest parking spot in Phish tour history night 2 😂
Screaming through space screaming through space!!!
"Page kept saying "hold my beer" and pushed this one into deep space"- Thank you, thank you for that. Amazing imagery. This was an amazing, amazing 2 nighter. I fell in love with Ohio after coming out there for a few days to see the band.
Ohio loves Phish!
Great run! Shout out to my lot buddies in Shakedown, parked up by the ropes course by the woods! The Mayor of Dayton who gave me a bottle of bourbon and my buddy “ the undercover” Invisalign from Cincinnati! 🤟
Oh yeah the ropes course where everyone was taking a leak! The sky was morphing incredible colors 😍
We saw them a month earlier in Colorado. Great show. No ruby waves but plenty of waves of smoke and cool people. Phish crowds are the best. I was recovering from major back surgery but still bought floor seats. I was dancing around on my crutches. Pretty numb after a few hours of natural pain relief.
What an amazing phucking jam. God damn the energy in that room was something else
My body hurt after those two days more then a MSG run 🏃 straight 🔥
Now the life boy and I am the walrus please 🙏🏻 😂 😂 😂
This was my first show, HOLY FUCK the end of this jam would've decimated me if I was tripping.
26:00 absolute chaos. my favorite soundscape jamming🔥
Definitely loving Trey’s new dial-up modem tone that he’s using at that part. Really adds an element of chaos.
Absolutely Mesmorzing!
Don't forget the Gin and No Man's Land from day before
Mike's Song too! What a killer two days we got
Some songs take some time to emerge in their true form but Ruby Waves is not one of them! This sprang, fully formed, from Trey's fertile mind! What a jam!!
This is as good as it gets right here. The section approx 16:10-19:45 is so amazing
came here to say that, so good!
For me, it was around 24:00 to the end. That took me places.
I hear Roll with the Changes which would be such a great Phish cover
@@alexcwilliams I hear mostly that and a little Paradise City!
I have listed to that section easily 5 times today haha
You know when they go into Lifeboy after that they just took you through some wild shit
Thanks!! Gonna be a great week!
Chicago Wedge Part 2!
(Plus some added 97 esk awesomeness at the end)
Wooo yea!
Hell ya!! This ruby waves was nasty! ❤❤
This is fantastic!!!
I thought Dayton’s the land of Funk
This song is bad ass
Page switching to the grand at 12:50 so good
Great shows! Thank you Phish! And Thank you Dayton for letting us have a real good time! Exceptional crowd and exceptionally great venue and staff! 🤟
I heard the first few notes (and that's it) and I knew this was going to be awesome!
I always dedicate this song to my Uncle, he passed away in 2022, but some people said he looked like Trey (he did) (side note, he lived a lot his life in Ohio).
uUnchbelievable performance. wWe're still dancing...
Fuck yeah guys!
‘‘Twas a good time had by all
Well this is awesome
YES
Interesting how Trey goes back into the song's theme before more jamming. Similar to the Berkeley Tweezer
outstanding!!
Incredible
Is Mike actually plugged in? Can't hear him at all
Fire
Next level. Phish blowing minds n melting faces all across the USA.
Very tight!!!

I’ve never heard started it but stoppped
Nutter Butter Haus
You can’t do luby Labes without lifeboy
when they are all jamming, how tf do they all know when to come out of it at the exact same time...roll into the end and move on? they didn't even look at each other...
The "Oh Kee Pah" ceremony emerged in the 80s where the band would extensively practice improvisation in a completely egoless state via edibles and mushrooms (many songs and jamming techniques emerged from this). I've tried it myself and it definitely works but its hard to find an entire band that can stay together mentally and physically under those circumstances. Phish might be the only ones that have fully integrated it into sobriety and it took most of their lives.
40 years of playing together is helpful for sure. They also use a lot of musical cues to indicate when to transition. Listen to enough Phish and you’ll start to recognize some of them. Little guitar, drum or piano licks that cue the other band members to follow.
Often one is leading the band during jams and the others will give them a small queue (a drum fill or a guitar lick) that basically says "you can transition out of this jam now if you want to, otherwise we keep going." obviously that also means knowing when to try and give them an out and when to play more seamlessly so it doesn't constantly sound like transition periods.
Compared to Bridgestone in Nashville, Hampton, MSG, SPAC etc the Nutter Center is a relic. Awkward trippy entrance. You may be standing on a hill of debris while the line to enter is backed up and you hear the music begin. It seems a safe area. You can park at a motel/hotel and walk over.
I want the red ballon🎉
Yep ...this right here is why people go to Phish shows...even a little tip of the cap to REO Speedwagon "Roll With The Changes"???
Kept waiting for “Keep on rolling…..”
Is it just me or does it seem like the drummer is just playing one long solo and walking all over the rest of the music?
Had a great time but this was my least favorite of the 2 nights. I mean night 1 Trey guitar god at the end come on.
Was there both nights. The first was considerably better. From others I talked to it was about 50/50. Some liked the second.👍🤝
I can concur the energy Nite One Trey was just dailed in and so pumped to play at the Nutter!!!
Night two brought the psych madness. Phish isn’t just the one thing.
@@mutoneon yeah it was a rock n roll show Tuesday with alot of tunes, Wednesday had a 4 song second set lol.🤣🤝
This was just ok. Kinda sloppy and all over the place
What's your PT handle?
Too many notes
Yea kinda noodly.
Phish isn’t a slick, tight band these days, but they still have amazing flow and can wind up in insane places, like this! Y’all talking like a bunch of noobs.
That, or we are being sarcastic by quoting a Phish movie reference
Last 10 mins is repetitive and goes literally goes no where. The dead dieing robot sound is meh
