ivanchuk or bronstein...the best never to become world champ..??...i am a big fan of 'planet chukky'...still appearing in a parallel universe near you :)

I’d say Keres, Rubinstein, Caruana, Sultan Khan, or even Korchnoi over Ivanchuk. But no one over Bronstein.

@@gxtmfa yup...there is indeed a strong case for Keres.
If only Ivanchuk could have been more consistant, and less...eccentric...

Paul Keres would be my pick. He holds a 70% win percentage over the years from 1935 to his death in 1975. These are years full of legendary talents from Capablanca to Fischer and everyone in between. Keres beat virtually every significant grandmaster in this period at least once... and often more than once. Keres has plus records against mikhail tal, max euwe, viktor korchnoi, Efim Geller, and... Capablanca!! and many others. Equal records with smyslov, petrosian, and karpov. He was an astonishing all rounder: Strong impenetrable defender and a sharp relentless attacker. His versatility and consistency is staggering. Ivanchuk, bronstein, and korchnoi are all strong contenders for the title of the greatest chess player to never be world champion. Ivanchuk reminds me of Tal or Rashid Nezmhetdinov in that when he's having a good day, he is a deadly unstoppable creative force on the board.

He didn't meant to rectify Daniel King. He simply rectified himself. It was quite a nonsense indeed.

you can see the final sequence where kramnik begins moving the king from h4 to g4 to f5 and then e 4 and supposedly to to d 3 but also trying to squeeze the king into c 2 /d 2 / c 3 at the same time. Cmon bro really.
