Ive always liked "A Day at The Races" a little more, especially once I get through the first 4 track on "Opera". Our rankings of tracks on "Races" are almost complete opposites. Lol. I've always loved "Drowse" "Millionaire Waltz", "You and I", etc.
Prophet Song probably my favourite on NaTO. I'm prog. Not sure which is my favourite on DaTR, either somebody to love or Tie your mother down. Love both these albums, but I think DaTR is a little closer to me. Both 5star albums.
Day at the Races is a strange album for me. I always think it’s one of my favorites, but then I listen to it and realize that it’s a good album with a handful of great songs and a bunch of good but not great songs. So, while our rankings will differ pretty significantly (39 is for me what Death on Two Legs is for you, for example), the final count would be roughly the same. But I am a freakily atypical Queen fan who isn’t all that fond of Freddie Mercury’s voice. In terms of talent and technical mastery, he is hands down the best singer in the group, but I’d rather listen to Brian May and Roger Taylor sing. (There’s something about Freddie’s spastic vibrato that grates on my ear.) My favorite Queen tracks are Brian’s, as a rule… I saw Queen when they came to Houston several years ago with Adam Lambert (who did, I thought, a very good job filling Freddie’s shoes). I had a ticket that was toward the back of the floor, and right before the concert, those of us at the back of the floor were offered empty seats toward the stage. I ended up about six rows away from the center stage thrust, so when Brian would walk upstage to play his solos, he was about ten feet away. I was in heaven.
These are two fine classics and definitely peak queen however if I was doing this I would pair Queen 2 and.sheer heart attack or would it be news of the world vs sheer heart attack as I said from 1973 to 1980 you can match any Queen classic and it's all good
I really like Drowse but I get what you’re saying. Both albums are pretty much equal to me. I don’t think I could never rank and compare the songs on each.
Yeah, I'm sick of Bohemian Rhapsody as well and I first heard it when Wayne's World came out. I do love Wayne's World, though. Ha. Now which of those two Marx Brothers movies do you prefer? ;)
A Night at the Opera is the better Marx Brothers' movie. A Day at the Races is very funny and worth watching, but A Night at the Opera has better individual scenes.
Ah yes! I wanted to mention Wayne's World in the video but was blanking on the name, so just made some general statement about the song getting bigger in the '90s. Not too sure about those two Marx Bros films. All I know is that their movie "Hot Space" really sucks ass.
@@ErnestIII83 There used to be a syndication package of their later movies, so it probably was the first one you saw! It was the first or second that I saw. Their best is Duck Soup. Early sound movies generally had musical numbers, even if they weren't musicals. The songs in Duck Soup are hilarious.
Yaayyy...here come the gatekeepers to tell me what is and isn't a "fair fight" and which albums SHOULD go against each other. 🙄
Gatekeepers are intellectual bullies. Fuck ‘em.
This is gooooood.

Ah, those who prefer "Races" are a rare breed!
Enjoyed that! Two great albums and 7 versus 3 sounds about right to me.

Yeah, I'm thinking Prophets Song should've ranked higher on my list.
A fair fight would easily be
Night At The Opera
vs
News of the World
vs
The Game

Also, kudos for “because content.” Nice.

Ccme on now! Not a fair fight.

@@AsItShouldBePodcast Haven't seen that one yet myself, but I've heard that about it from others.
@@davidlessenberry8736 I think Day At The Races was the first Marx Brothers movie I ever saw, actually.

A Day at the Races seems a little "soft". Only 2 Rockers....and the rest ballads?? Night easily buries day...track wise, and production wise.
