Hi. We have had 3 Enclaves and have been very happy with them but our kids (and friends) are getting much bigger and the they tend to complain on longer trips. We do a lot of carpooling and car trips for soccer tournaments and need space for 7 many days. Any recommendations on another SUV brand/model that would have more space in the third row with captains chair?
Most likely you'll have to go to a full size like Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Navigator, Expedition, Wagoneer, Infiniti QX80. All of these will have more room. If you are looking to stay in the midsize segment new Grand Highlander or new Honda Pilot will be slightly larger in the 3rd row, but not by much.
Every tester is hinting that the 4 banger doesn't live up to the luxurious interior and swoopy exterior. Course and loud but no driving impressions yet, so cryptically hinted at. Tis shame, GM misses the target.
@@cbotten106 yeah, i have driven both Traverse and Acadia and recently the Enclave ST. I think they should have left V6 in them. But ( thank you EPA) they must meet very strict emissions and that easier done with smaller displacement.
Great review, very good styling & color. However $64k is just horrible in today's economic climate. Who can afford it?? Maybe a Base level would be better.😮😮
Why not go with a natural V6 for that price? This is a pretty big vehicle… everybody putting turbos in 4 cylinder vehicles to make V6 power. To me a turbo is another thing that needs to be serviced down the road and the cost to replace it will depreciate the car by 30 percent
@@KC2024Champs This is all due to government regulations. The V6 was polluting too much and consuming too much fuel to meet regulations, so this is the solution GM came up with. I don't like it. In my opinion, they should have gone with a small non-turbo engine and an electric motor to boost it instead of a turbo. But this was a more cost-effective strategy for GM than using hybrid gas/electric tech.
The fact that this 4 cylinder in real world driving doesn't get that much better fuel mileage then the tried and true 3.6 V6 says it was a better beneficial decision for GM in manufacturing cost. Doesn't matter if this powerplant is more powerful it will take more rpms to get the most out of that power thus sounding coarse and unrefined as opposed to the V6 that will make more of its power in the lower rpms thus sounding more refined and confidence provoking. GM did a great job on the styling but not the cost cutting measures especially for a luxury variant. We'll see how the future years will fair better as they correct the issues people will have with it. Something tells me the powerplant is going to be the major one and GM made transmissions. Non the less I like the exterior and interior styling but $60k for a 4 cylinder Buick not even a Cadillac 🤦♂️ I'll intelligently pass ✌🏽♥️
Honestly I think it's the EPA that is driving this change in many manufacturers( Ford, Lincoln and Toyota are all going 4 cyl) They already have a decent 6 cyl. With few tweaks and a better transmission it can achieve better gas mileage than this.
The TX has a stop sale on it, so nobody is buying those currently. This competes well with the TX lineup except for the 550h+ which is a V6 with a plug in electrification.
That engine already having problems in the traverse…3rd row seats are a waste of space for this size vehicle.. I’m looking for an suv but I’m not looking to invest in any problems.. need a year on the road to test the engines durability.. good looking vehicle though
What are the issues with Traverse and this engine? It felt strange accelerating when I filmed the Acadia and Traverse, this one I wasn't able to take on the road. 3rd row could definitely be better. I honestly wouldn't mind sacrificing a bit of behind 3rd row storage to have more legroom in 3rd row seats. We bought a brand new Pilot. So far so good.
I can honestly say this is the first Buick I’ve ever found attractive. Huge improvement from the previous gen! 👍🏼
Same here!
I will order one soon!
Good job and I'm planning on buy this beauty.
No doubt!

Thank you! Appreciate the detailed response.
Hey Matt, Would you pick this over the 2024 Kia Telluride SX Prestige?
not quite sold on this new powertrain so probably not.

I'll do an ST trim next. This could be a sweet spot.
You can actually get a Cadillac Lyriq for that money.

@@toronado455 its much smaller though. Plus electric
Great review.
Thanks!
Overall, a very nice, attractive design. The back end, especially the taillights, reminds me of the BMW X7
@@jgs1564 yeah, a little bit. I like this design better than outgoing model.
I live in Florida so what I want is an air conditioned steering wheel.
I like it but I don't like the engine. I'd rather it have a hybrid/NA setup than a turbo.
true, or a 6 cylinder.

Not a bad vehicle but can't imagine many people choosing this over a Lexus tx at similar cost.
I am not arguing your statement. But as my boss used to say : "there is a butt for every seat"
The TX has a stop sale on it, so nobody is buying those currently. This competes well with the TX lineup except for the 550h+ which is a V6 with a plug in electrification.
Lexus doesn't have SUPER CRUISE.....that's the reason to chose the GM product
I saw the outside and it had my attention, then I saw the screen, that angle is just wrong, that's just my opinion.
I like the Acadia screen better. This one creates too much reflection and its hard to see.
If I could get one WITHOUT the tacky plastic chrome! Also a V6 would is a must for a vehicle this heavy!
I just filmed the ST. No chrome... but still 4 banger.
Really want to see the ambient lightning
me too , lol
@@MattTheCarguygive us a night review please
I thought u had to do the door test from the inside? 🤔 💭 😂
Is it going to sound any different? A solid thud is felt, heard from both inside and out, but next time especially for you I'll do it from inside 🤣
@@MattTheCarguythank u.. I’ll be watching..😊
I guess he didn't get a solid sounding thunk 😂
remind me of the Lexus RX
Similar shape, yes. Also 4 cyl.

On that price too much. I’d rather get a tahoe on that price.
You can get 2wd LT Tahoe for the same price as this but that would be more comparable to the preffered trim which is 45k so 13k cheaper.
They copied the Palisade smh
@@crookedicon487 front end? Kind of.
And a I-4 engine, no thanks.
GM, Ford, Toyota.... all going to 4 cyl😢
@@MattTheCarguy Yep, that's the market trend. That engine is going to work hard to move all that Buick, for sure.
