I'm going to wait two years for the prize of this avenir trim to crash to the mid-30s and then buy one. I need a second SUV. Rule of thumb, never buy an expensive car new. I currently drive a 2022 Genesis GV80 with the advance and prestige packages. The original owner paid $66,800 . I paid $39,500.

Agreed. Explorer is offering 400hp V-6, tell me GM doesn’t have engineers that can accomplish that? Even the 3.0 twin turbo in CT5 would be a better fit. Really disappointed with GM’s push for tiny motors in big vehicles

Great review Sofyan. I saw one of these in person. It was only the ST trim, but I was very impressed. I drive a CX-90 PHEV, and I love the vehicle. But I think the interior of the Buick looks a little nicer. However, I know for a fact that the driving characteristics of the Buick won’t come close to the Mazda. However, if I were shopping today I would definitely give the Buick a look.
I love how these new gm vehicles make more power but yet are slower 0-60. The old enclave was similar weight if not mistaken and had only 310 hp and 270 lb ft or so but it did 60 in high 6s to low 7. Same with the turbo with over 400 lb ft in the canyon is slower but over a second to 60 than the previous generation 3.6, either it doesn’t make all that power or something isn’t adding up. Not that people drive these for acceleration but this is no quicker than a 2011 enclave/traverse with the dual exhaust if I’m correct.

I think that they are overrating the numbers in these new turbos. I mean even without the 9 speed the extra torque should make up for the loss of one extra gear that was mainly an overdrive gear anyway

In the 70s and 80s. I What's quintessential GM buyer. Out of college I bought a Chevrolet, then as my career developed I went Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick and finally a 1988 Cadillac Sedan Deville. That was the last GM vehicle I owned. The quality went south and prices got crazy. I still think that the price of this Avenir is absurd. I just picked up the 2024 Chevy Traverse Z71. Same power train, space, and many of the features for much, much less. Plus the Z71 is a light off broader.

In Canada that will get up to 80 thousand dollars out the door with taxes. For a Buick ?! A GM 4 cylinder turbo putting out over 300 horsepower and torque is terrifying. That is why the engine sounds horrible when you hit the gas in your review. Anyone remember the Quad 4 in the beretta from Chevy in the 90s? They all broke under any pressure! I had a 91 Chevy beretta and the v6 I had lasted forever. Just put a V6 in it. I will say the interior of the model you drive is nice. And the automatic cruise control gets a lot of praise. But 63 thousand dollars for a Buick ? Just before Covid, the Buick commercials were begging customers to look again with their advertising saying yes it is a Buick lol. After Covid up to 63 thousand dollars? And please, those 3rd row seats are useless. Much like any vehicle this size. This trend of emergency type seats should just go away. On top of no comfort I feel bad for anyone sitting in that third row if God forbid, the vehicle is rear ended. Especially with no rear bumper sticking out to absorb with the design, not only is it not comfortable, passengers will have catastrophic injuries from any mild to moderate rear end impact. But I digress, way way way too much money and so many things that will break for a Buick. Super cruise is great and the interior is nice. Ok great strides for GM but way too greedy price wise. I also like that the roof opens as much as it does. Very cool. I love my Subaru Forrester for the roof. But before I get attacked for being bias. I, in no way would buy the 2025 Subaru. It is also way overpriced and so underpowered it is ridiculous. Put the turbo motor like the outback in it. At least offer the option. Anyways I add that because these high prices for little in return is a trend not just for GM. still at least, until Toyota messes things up for I g Subarus into rav 4 hybrids, at least Subaru entering is fantastic if it fits the niche you want. I would buy this Buick with a v6 that I know would last, take out gimmicks like massaging seats. Then, while taking out things that are not useful and will break anyways, make the Buick affordable. Again an industry wide issue with prices. This Buick Should be 40 thousand American and 50 thousand Canadian. I feel I am being fair here. Now will GM be fair?
With the past few years of Avenir and ST trims, I've always wanted the luxury and tech/features of the Avenir with the exterior styling of the ST. Plus, I wish there were more color options for the inside and out.
Looks great.The only problems I see is very little bumper protection front and rear. The front, the grill would go and the hood end is right up in there with very little crush space in front of it. The same goes for the rear, that tailgate would be toast.
I haven’t touched the auto headlight and auto highbeams setting on my current car since I bought it over 2 1/2 years ago so that being in the screen really wouldn’t bother me
I kinda hate it doesn't have a V6, but GM has had so many timing chain issues with the 3.6 engine. Time will tell how reliable this 4cyl will be. Hopefully they used some good head gaskets.
My first thought was - finally they upgraded the screen, but then I was so disappointed when I saw a tiny tiny back camera view. Is this a joke? What those designers were thinking about.

Nicely done. Please post a copy of your home electric bill - I haven’t seen 8 cents per KWH for quite a while now. Also haven’t seen $3.75 gas in a while too it’s $2.75 here today. Even with the realistic prices (25 cents per kWh that most pay) the energy cost still less for an EV.
The design is gorgeous. I think Buick just outclassed Lincoln, Mazda, Infiniti, Lexus, Acura, and Genesis with the futuristic but timeless interior design. It looks like a private jet on the interior and _very_ expensive. The execution is impressive *gm* especially for a vehicle that’s sub $100,000. I love how they were dedicated in giving the higher trim Enclaves a bespoke audio system and the Avenir a unique suspension system compared to the Traverse and Acadia. *gm* refrained from just throwing the 33-inch Cadillac display in the models from Buick and GMC and instead Buick got its own bespoke 30-inch display slotting right below the Cadillac’s entry level display. This was executed perfectly and it’s very exciting for the Buick brand.
6:18 the red turn signals are a fail. How is it 2024 and US manufacturers still haven't learned that all turn signals, front, side and rear are supposed to be amber, period. Is it ignorance, incapability, or an affinity for less effective and safe taillights? I need to know.
I recently bought the ST black with the upgraded 22inch black rims. Black helps blend in those gloss black pieces and looks very, very high-class. Pretty good so far, just a few nit pick issues. The stalk shifter i hate, up for reverse, down for drive. Not intuitive. And because of it, all your other switches are placed on one stalk. Windshield wiper controls are a horrible design, difficult to use while driving. Wouldn't be so bad if Buick had rain sensor wipers in all models. You cant tell in the video, but all models have a large plastic speaker cover in the middle of the dash. Cheap and crappy looking. Doesn't make sense when everything else is nice. Everything else is pretty good, (ride quality, comfort, great design, great screen). P 20:55 rice is competitive, somewhat lower than other luxery brands.
I love the new look but I hate small engines... The 3.6 was fine, but a four cylinder will a turbo no way... Small engines give up faster than a large especially with a turbo for it's too heavy... It's like putting a 6.7 diesel on a semi truck... Damn I'm not happy but the exterior and interior is amazing!
I believe it's Apple who doesn't allow Apple Music on the Google platform. Apple keeps all of their stuff exclusive to them, even Apple TV. They don't play nice with others
For that kind of money, I would expect it to be much faster. 0-60 in 7.8 sec is way too slow! This car should have Cadillac's V-6 from the CT5. Very nice car, but due to its poor performance, I think I would shop the competition.
Also, not that this is squarely on Buick, I cannot stand this new normal with turbo charged 4 bangers. I have yet to hear a nice sounding one. I will miss the refinement and throaty exhaust sounds of 6’s.
You can take it to a detail shop to have the complete interior ceramic coated so all you have to do is wipe off any marks, spills etc. The carpets, seats and leather become water and stain proof as a result of the coating.
@@mat131745 thousand lbs is nothing for this engine, that’s literally the towing capacity which means not only can it effortlessly push around 5,000 lbs but it can tow an additional 5,000 lbs simultaneously with no problem. Y’all truly underestimate the power and durability of modern turbocharged motors especially *gm’s* new turbo 4 cylinders that are now found in their mid-size trucks.
The interior is gorgeous, but that performance is a MASSIVE turnoff for the price. 7.8 0-60 is too slow for this price point. A comparable lexus TX, acura mdx or Genesis gv80 will do it in the low 6s. Sorry Buick, but its gonna take more than a pretty interior and some tech to compete in this class.
Wrong. A base tx is significantly slower. A tx that’s faster than the enclave will cost at least 70-80k so significantly more expensive than the most expensive enclave. And the tx phev is even more expensive while not being that quick

The 2nd Gen Acadia FWD with the 3.6 was the sleeper. 0-60 in 5.6s-6.0s.

You can take it to a detail shop to have the complete interior ceramic coated so all you have to do is wipe off any marks, spills etc. The carpets, seats and leather become water and stain proof as a result of the coating.

The giant screen on the dash just screams lazy

@@mat131745 thousand lbs is nothing for this engine, that’s literally the towing capacity which means not only can it effortlessly push around 5,000 lbs but it can tow an additional 5,000 lbs simultaneously with no problem. Y’all truly underestimate the power and durability of modern turbocharged motors especially *gm’s* new turbo 4 cylinders that are now found in their mid-size trucks.

I would say that I prefer your reviews when the interior portion is done by you, not the camera operator.
Those tires look so dry, they look like they are going to bust.
Young families with an extra $63k laying around.
Or you can buy the lower trim that starts at $45k.
Or just buy a more mainstream brand at a more affordable price point. Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, or Nissan pathfinder would be a better value.
The interior is gorgeous, but that performance is a MASSIVE turnoff for the price. 7.8 0-60 is too slow for this price point. A comparable lexus TX, acura mdx or Genesis gv80 will do it in the low 6s.
Sorry Buick, but its gonna take more than a pretty interior and some tech to compete in this class.
Wrong. A base tx is significantly slower. A tx that’s faster than the enclave will cost at least 70-80k so significantly more expensive than the most expensive enclave. And the tx phev is even more expensive while not being that quick
I like the interiors colors but the styling of the interior is not a win for me.
