I agree with you both. This is a home run by Buick. It looks great, is packed with features people want (in the base trim, with extras available if wanted) and is well priced (relatively in the market). Factor in plenty of dealership access (small towns, etc), a decent reliability record and you've got yourself a winner. Some may be hesitant as it's made in China, but they've been making some decent cars for a few years now.
Its made in China. The money you spend on one of these eventually finds its way into the CCP and their efforts to topple the USA and take over the world. Just saying. I like the new logo but sending tens of thousands of dollars to china. Not so much.
I have had 2 Buicks in my lifetime and both were well built, fun and good looking and nice values! Way to for a fantastic review and hats off to Buick for another solid choice!
Thank you Motormouth for this review - this review and the 2021 review of this model is what sold us in the end! We bought the 2023 version Essence trim ST with Tech 1 package and pano sunroof recently at a substantial discount vs. 2024, as it was still brand new on the dealer's lot. Sure, it doesn't have the latest big screen and no wireless charging, and the front styling is different, but that's it. Otherwise, it is the same car. We love how quiet it is - quiet tuning is real! It's like your car was a giant noise-isolating earphone, that's the best way I can describe it. We also love how little body roll it has and that we are now up to date with the "almost" latest technology. It's a bargain money-wise compared to the Cadillac XT4 (made on the same platform), which has fewer dealers, and you must go to a Cadillac service centre for all your services. Some people will not like that it's made in China and are afraid of the quality... Phones, TV, Computers are all made there, it just depends on the factory it's made at. It's the same car made for the Chinese market from the same factory; it's more expensive to buy there. And to anyone saying it's not "quite as luxurious"as (insert Audi, Land Rover etc etc) - it's an elevated interior for sure - maybe not AS luxurious but you are saving about 10 - 15K compared to those other brands and you will save in the long run as this is a much more reliable car.
Buick is about the brand I can think of in the automotive industry without media cheerleaders. It’s great to see someone cheerleading for a brand that deserves it, but never gets it.
Buick has to compete in China, which is a very difficult market to play in. The intense competition forced Buick to make better cars. The Envision is one such example: An excellent import. It is made entirely in China with a Chinese partner.
Buick’s ‘Quiet Tune Technology’ is often dismissed, overlooked… maybe a bit misunderstood. On my Buick Allure it meant double insulated roof, triple door seals, an extra thick subfloor, better carpeting, soft touch (just about) everything, soft (and quiet) velour seats, dual (2) firewalls, acoustic glass windshield and even DOUBLE glass side doors! A reliable, proven and underworked 3.8L certainly helped. Buicks, especially used… I believe, are too often overlooked as an option… whether it be Value or Comfort. This one appears to be continuing on with (some of) those traditions. Impressive vehicle… in it’s own sorta way… for a Buick at least. Thanks for the video.
Oops… I might have been wrong about them all. I wonder if that model (cheaper/4 cyl) might not have have that Quiet Tune Technology. Maybe not all Buicks? Thanks for noting your experience!
Many people have mentioned concerns about Chinese production. In fact, if it is the same brand or product under the same standard, the quality of American products is not necessarily better than that of Chinese products! The low-quality Chinese products that people usually blame are just the cheapest goods purchased from China by our local dealers (they also have high-quality high-end goods) in order to get the biggest profit! Similarly, on Envision, some people complain about the materials and design, which are all standards set by GM, and China is just a contract manufacturer.
Thank you both…this was exactly what I wanted to hear! I went to the Buick dealer just to look at it in person. I was amazed at the base Preferred trim with the comfort and convenience package. That would be everything I needed plus the pano roof. Where I live, I would have to order the car with the pano roof because the base trims at the dealership don’t have them. I’m not ready yet but when I am, the Envision is #1 on my list. Thank you again for your enthusiastic review about this particular SUV!
I have a 22, ton of extra tech that makes my driving, parking much easier. It does have an annoying turbo whistle kittle sound that the dealer ignored me on that I just deal with. Wish it was a hybrid for the fuel economy but it is what it is. The small redesign is something I wish I had i think it's a great improvement.
I just purchased my wife the 2024 Envision, took your advice, and got the Preferred with the panoramic sunroof. She couldn't be happier. She likes this so much better than her VW. Also, I enjoyed your review, and your wife is absolutely beautiful. You married up big time.
Buick is doing great with their new styling! My partner and I were just in Detroit this weekend and saw an Enclave in our friends neighborhood and we kept staring at it trying to figure out what is was cause it was just so sharp looking. We couldn't believe that it was a Buick! And yes the names are super confusing!
Great review as always. I've been loyal to Japanese vehicles but my 2019 Mazda CX5 is starting to cost me money in repairs. Buick has hit it out of the park with the Envision. The ST trim in white with the garnet leather interior is a knockout. Buick has definitely given me something to think about.
@@michaelhatzigeorgiou470 My situation is just one of those things. Warranty is up and anything that could go wrong, has gone wrong. I've followed Mazda's service schedule to the letter. I'm not condemning the brand. The car was great until the warranty ended. Either I pump a growing percentage of its market value into repairs or I move on. That's life. I'm glad you have not had the same experience.
Buick made this amazing car, but they cannot commit any delivery date. I have been visiting GM dealerships since Apr 2024. The only thing I always hear is “we don’t know when the vehicle will go into production”. I eventually purchased the 2024 Acura RDX top trim and couldn’t be happier
We just purchased a 2024 envision preferred in cinnabar metallic we added the comfort and convenience package, but what a great car so well built your review did play in to my decision but after test drive and seeing one and driving I was sold. I am retired and maybe a Buick is an old man’s car, but I do love driving this car it is such a nice quite driving car I think it is a lot of bang for the buck. In our envision the heated seats and heated steering wheel turn on and off automatically depending on it if cold, that must be part of the comfort and convenience package?
You left out one really nice thing: the DISPLAY. Select the map to be displayed on the driver's screen and the driver gets a 13" wide map that's easy to read and doesn't take your eyes off the road "too much". I felt however that the nighttime brightness is a bit high. Also, when ACC (adaptive cruise control) is engaged, it can suddenly decelerate (as you approach a slower vehicle ahead of you) in a jarring way. It could slow you down a little more gradually. We liked the rear storage...we placed larger pullman rolling luggage in the rear and it had enough room for two large units lying down on their wider side. We also like the "Mercedes-Benz-like gear shift lever on the right side of the steering column. It was illuminated "D", "R" and "P" and we liked that feature. Again, more eyes on the road when selected gear. We also liked the 30"-wide display and that the right side (13" wide area) for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto...easy to read and operate. We liked the large round volume control for audio (also on/off) BUT we didn't like the menu-driven sound controls (bass, treble, balance/fader) all requiring multiple button-pushings to change audio settings. Seat comfort, driver height, viewing aspect we liked. The Envision was easy to get into and out of. We did ride on some rougher-surfaced roads and the sound was transmitted into the cabin, but on smoother roads, the ride was lovely and quiet. We found the car nimble and agile, easy to steer and it had decent road feel. When pushed, the car accelerates 0-60 in about seven seconds, which we found ample. Also: we found the adaptive lights well-placed: low and wide, they lit the road ahead very well and in fog and snow we weren't blinded by bright reflection because the head lights are wider and lower than normal. When turning, the headlights throw (for a moment) additional light in the direction you are steering. When you unlock the car using the key fob, the eyelash lights up front and rear lights display a cute light play that's enjoyable to watch. Finally, a little button on the left side of the dashboard allows you to select drive modes: front drive, all-wheel drive and different traction modes for more challenging conditions. We really liked that! We didn't like the two silver rocker buttons on the steering wheel...one for audio volume and the other set/accel for the cruise control. They often reflected sunlight which we thought presented safety risks. We also didn't like the annoying bongs that played if you started the car w/o seat belts already buckled. If you buckle up first, you won't hear the bong sounds upon start up.
I just test drove the 2024 Envision Avenir. I loved most things about it. Tons of foot /knee space in passenger seat, huge pano roof that keeps it bright, and the setup is driver friendly. It sits a little lower for an SUV. Surprisingly great steering and feels solid. The biggest downsides for me was the driver seat (it is so hard/firm under your butt) and my insurance was going to go UP $368 every 6 months. I still think the value with the Envision is great for what you get. I personally just can't get past that dang hard seat. For about $3-$4K more I can get the NX350 Premium, so the bargain would be with a lower trim ST and just add the convenience package and pano roof.
In 9/2024, I traded in a 10 year old Toyota Highlander XLE for a new 2024 Cadillac XT4 love it. At the Cadillac dealership, I did see an Envision and I liked the Ferrari front but I didn't like the interior (seemed cheap) and the 1.2 litre engine was no comparison to the Cadillac XT4's 2.0 litre. With the refreshed 2.0 Buick engine from the Cadillac, standard HUD , standard AWD, spare tire, I think this interior refresh could have changed my mind. But even the refreshed Buick still has a rearend that looks like every other SUV, unlike the Cadillac XT4's distinctive rearend and Escalade face. Minor issues: Buick doesn't have a power/usb outlet in the center storage console for me to plug in a LED usb light. I don't need AWD so I'd rather have the better mpg with a FWD.
Not bad vehicle! Very stylish in both exterior and interior. I remember a few years ago, I drove once and it’s felt narrow. Is it wider now? Great show Andrea! 👍🏻👍🏻
Zack, you nailed it. It's something to do with the new Chevy lineup. I own the 2024 TRAX and my wife and I love it because we feel so relaxed when we drive it. Really. Easy like Sunday morning. We own five cars but this is our favourite.
Hey there, Zac and Andrea. Thank you for the quality content that you provide for us. It truly helps us to make an informative and wise decision when purchasing a vehicle. 😊🎉
I stumbled into a 2019 Buick Encore when my daughter needed something small and with four doors. Found one with 29K and in a pretty colour and I have to admit that it has turned out to be a very nice little car. Her parking spot is small and this one is a little longer than she would like, but this looks very appealing. If GM EVER starts to put NACS charging ports on something like this in a plug in hybrid (she already has a Tesla charger outside) I might go for something like this.
I am not a fan of American branded cars but I am so thrilled to see that Buick has some amazing looking, well-designed vehicles long at last. I hope they sell well and turn out to be reliable long term. Go Buick!
Thx for your review. Last month we took possession of the 2024 Envision Avenier. I agree with your overall assessment. My only minor complaint is adjusting the rear view mirror to cover the entire rear window when not using the camera technology. It does not move upward enough. Many thanks for the quality of your work 👍
Yes, near the top. Most of the time just behind Toyota and Lexus. I wonder if this model will be impacted by its manufacturing location? Will be interesting to see.
@ytj22 Buick Envision has been made in China for a few years now. So there should be no changes on quality. I drive a 2022 Envision Avenir. I love it. Buick are actually assembled all over the place, even Germany. Kinda cool!
The price war has taken its toll. It's good news if you're a buyer, and brutal news if you're an owner. Used EV prices fell 20.5% year-over-year last quarter. Companies have had to cut new EV prices this year, which has pushed down pre-owned values. The good news is that if you want an affordable EV, the used market finally looks good. It's a brutal time to sell and a helluva time to buy. The used EV market is in freefall, and it's current owners that are holding the bag. But if you've been looking for the time to get into a modern, long-range EV, it may be now.
Hey, I can understand the attraction but I'll stick with my 2024 CX 5 Signature, less money and the interior seems better to me and pretty sure the driving dynamics is better...I'll trade for new Mazda 6 maybe a '25 Gold R if tech is different ....Nice review thank you.
Enjoyed you review as always, however when I looked into the Buick website (in Iowa, US) almost all the dealers within 250 miles only showed Envision's that were "Currently unavailable" even though they said they had them for sale. It looks like Buick has underproduced affordable vehicles while only building top of the line high priced versions.
Great review, awesome Buick. My 1st car was also a Buick (Skylark 78). We presently drive a Buick Encore GX. I just find it strange that you can't control the temperature and or audio (radio stations etc) by voice commands like I had in my Mustang sync system.
I saw some other reviewers recently review the 2025 GMC Terrain which I believe is the GMC equivalent. The Terrain only comes with a 1.5 L engine which for me is a big miss. I generally keep a car for longer than the warranty so reliability is a big deal. It will be interesting to see how those big screens fare long term.
Great video and really like hearing about Buick. I really like the look of the Envision from the front but I thought the side view looked like a last gen Nissan Rogue. Great interior. I have been interested in Buick for a while now but will wait until they get a hybrid. I was disappointed when I heard the gas mileage.
Hello from Atlanta!!! As always, love your videos Great review of this Buick. They seem to have come a long way separating themselves from other GM products where all the models look too similar to one another. IE :Cadillac and Chevy..the interior looks nice but those seats still look so generic GM My Family owned Fords and Oldsmobiles throughout the years I worry about long term reliability, quality and depreciation. But still have to hand it to Buick for a great looking vehicle
I went for a test drive last week. It felt less insulated than my outback. I could hear the motor noise as if I was sitting on it. Did I try a defective car or what? I test drove the gv70,lincoln corsair, lexus nx,rx and toyota venza. None of them had that motor sound in the cabin. I'm a bit confused. Everything else was top notch tho. The most silent was the Corsair. I'm so confused what to buy now. This is so much value on paper.
Love the looks of this, but ultimately went with the Toyota Venza hybrid for the fuel economy. Are there any plans for Buick to introduce hybrid options in the future?
Handsome vehicle on the outside, but I can't digest the 30+ inch screen on the inside. I know that fashionable at the moment, but count this old guy out. Nice review as always, you two!
I was extremely interested until the fuel economy stats and realized there is no hybrid option. That's an unfortunate deal-breaker for me but I hope it does well for the benefit of the North Am car industry.
Tantalizing positive review! Does it feel noticeably quieter/more luxurious than a 25 Hyundai Tuscon Hybrid Limited? How does it compare with the Toyota Crown Signia? Thanks! ❤️✌🏻✌🏻❤️
Why can’t GM build this quality, feature loaded and reasonably priced vehicle in North America ? The New 2024/5 Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain need to be reworked ASAP IMHO.
Loved the review! I don't think you mentioned the Continuous Damping Suspension (likely on your Avenir tester) which is supposed to allow a more supple ride. XT4 'sportier' - not as nice for keeping granny's dentures in place while driving on country roads.
Such a beautiful car, sucks it doesn't have the Super Cruise feature? I'm guessing that is the same feature as called Lane Follow Assist on other brands, such as the Hyundai Tuscon? I fell in love with that feature when I test drove the Tuscon, really disappointed this Buick doesn't have that feature...
I wish people got station wagons and hatchbacks instead of crossovers. Our 2016 LaCrosse has 303 HP and still gets 22 in the city (without auto start/stop). The car has 220 HP and auto start/stop and also gets 22 in the city. Sedans just get better MPG. It also has a smooth v6 instead of a buzzy 4.
Being that it is assembled in China, are these prices before or after the govt tariffs? Or will everything be imported from the South Korean production line instead?
Wait when that 30 inch screen breaks big money to repair. Are you supposed to drive and watch where you are going instead of playing with the 30 inch screen
Thanks so much for this review, I have been looking at this and the Mazda Cx5 and for the longest time I was so into the BMW X3 until I test drove it and of course it was a very nice ride but for the price the interior was wack, so dated and disappointing. I love the exterior and interior of the envision !!!!
That screen is probably not too hard to replace as there is no fixing it if it fails….however this is an instance where the part will cost more than the labour to replace it….

It’s assembled there and it would probably not be this nicely designed if it wasn’t a desirable brand there….
The CCP wants to destroy the USA so I dont want to send thousands there on a car. I think the car is nice looking but the CCP not so much.
Your review of the Envision was wonderful. It helped seal the deal for me and today I picked up an Avenir here in Rhode Island. Very nice ride!
Do you still like it? Looking at one tomorrow.

Agreed. Too many names. Where’s the Roadmaster name? Buick Allure is called the Buick LaCrosse, in the great States of America (around since 2006?).
Family had several Buicks including a 70 LaSabre 455, with the legendary 455 engine. Very fast

I don't need AWD so I'd rather have the better mpg with a FWD.
I am not an American vehicle guy BUT, I Love This ❤😊
Made in China.
Not bad vehicle! Very stylish in both exterior and interior. I remember a few years ago, I drove once and it’s felt narrow. Is it wider now? Great show Andrea! 👍🏻👍🏻
I love my 2023 and plan on going right into another Envision once this lease is up in another year or so.
Zack, you nailed it. It's something to do with the new Chevy lineup. I own the 2024 TRAX and my wife and I love it because we feel so relaxed when we drive it. Really. Easy like Sunday morning. We own five cars but this is our favourite.
This is my new dream car! Especially the blue exterior with the grey interior 😍. Hopefully I’ll be able to get one in the next 5 years
Hey there, Zac and Andrea. Thank you for the quality content that you provide for us. It truly helps us to make an informative and wise decision when purchasing a vehicle. 😊🎉
I love it well done 🤩
Gas mileage is only 22 city/28 highway. I think a hybrid option would make a lot more people interested in buying it.
Does anyone know if Buick will be offering hybrid for the Envision or Envista in the next couple years?
Looks like Buick finally has a nice looking auto suitable for the Buick nameplate. Only killer is no hybrid option.
Where is this vehicle made? Might also be a deal breaker?
@@ytj22 the Envision is made in China.
I am not a fan of American branded cars but I am so thrilled to see that Buick has some amazing looking, well-designed vehicles long at last. I hope they sell well and turn out to be reliable long term. Go Buick!
When you all do the four vehicles to consider segment are you using Canadian dollars or US dollars?
It’s a Canadian show
Canadian dollars
Better than xt4 (for the money)
Thx for your review. Last month we took possession of the 2024 Envision Avenier. I agree with your overall assessment. My only minor complaint is adjusting the rear view mirror to cover the entire rear window when not using the camera technology. It does not move upward enough. Many thanks for the quality of your work 👍
How is the Bose ?
You are taller than average???
The Envista, Encore, Envision and Enclave, you're not the only one who got them mixed up lol
Any news if Buick is ever going to make hybrids or will they jump straight to EVs like most other brands?
Yes, Buick has been at the top of JD Power for years.
Kinda cool!
Impressive!
This is not a Buick problem. It's been going on for many years: dealers prefer more expensive models, so they make more money.
I feel like Buick has been making pretty good cars for a couple years now. Shame they don't really get as much recognition for it
Thanks for the great review, Buick has been very late getting this model to their dealerships.
It has a long way to go to get to your dealership.
Looks like a decent package overall. Always had a soft spot for Buick. But ditch the silly screens already please.
Hello from Atlanta!!!
As always, love your videos
Great review of this Buick.
They seem to have come a long way separating themselves from other GM products where all the models look too similar to one another.
IE :Cadillac and Chevy..the interior looks nice but those seats still look so generic GM
My Family owned Fords and Oldsmobiles throughout the years
I worry about long term reliability, quality and depreciation.
But still have to hand it to Buick for a great looking vehicle
I like the black wheels the best.
i grew up in a buick family from 49 special to a 58 special my granddad had the best,57 roadmaster loaded for the time.
Nah I like that they actually name their fleet vs Xs and Cs and Bs as the names
GM says they are moving directly to PHEV’s
If they would bring back the Waterfall grill", I would upgrade. Now it looks like every other modern SUV
Handsome vehicle on the outside, but I can't digest the 30+ inch screen on the inside. I know that fashionable at the moment, but count this old guy out. Nice review as always, you two!
I like Zach's comment about the naming. He left off the Enclave, if they are still making that for North America.
Are fog lamps an option?
Nice seat covers
I was extremely interested until the fuel economy stats and realized there is no hybrid option. That's an unfortunate deal-breaker for me but I hope it does well for the benefit of the North Am car industry.
That tone of blue 🔵 fell greatly on this Buick.
Looks pretty close to perfect for this segment, except I wish the fuel economy was a bit better.
A great review! This is a nice-looking SUV. Well done, Buick. An SUV I would love to own, by the looks and sound of it. ❤
My wife loves thes Buick as looks great. She wonders if you could put a small car top Carrier on it?
Tantalizing positive review! Does it feel noticeably quieter/more luxurious than a 25 Hyundai Tuscon Hybrid Limited? How does it compare with the Toyota Crown Signia? Thanks! ❤️✌🏻✌🏻❤️
Why can’t GM build this quality, feature loaded and reasonably priced vehicle in North America ? The New 2024/5 Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain need to be reworked ASAP IMHO.
Mm, i wonder where it built ? anyone know
I thought GM was removing Apple CarPlay from their new vehicles? Is this the exception?
Only EVs
They are only doing it on electric vehicles
Premium gas?
Just need a hybrid version ❤
Loved the review! I don't think you mentioned the Continuous Damping Suspension (likely on your Avenir tester) which is supposed to allow a more supple ride. XT4 'sportier' - not as nice for keeping granny's dentures in place while driving on country roads.
Such a beautiful car, sucks it doesn't have the Super Cruise feature? I'm guessing that is the same feature as called Lane Follow Assist on other brands, such as the Hyundai Tuscon? I fell in love with that feature when I test drove the Tuscon, really disappointed this Buick doesn't have that feature...
Zach would look good with a soul patch.
It’s so surprising that heated steering wheel and heated seats are not standard 😮
how long will it last
The front doesn't remind me of any of those brands you mentioned. I only see Hyundai Kona.
Search 2022 Ford Escape
I wish people got station wagons and hatchbacks instead of crossovers.
Our 2016 LaCrosse has 303 HP and still gets 22 in the city (without auto start/stop).
The car has 220 HP and auto start/stop and also gets 22 in the city.
Sedans just get better MPG. It also has a smooth v6 instead of a buzzy 4.
Imagine that big screen getting glitchy like screens have a tendency to do. All this tech is too much.
Is it still the old 2.0T + GM 9AT? That AT sucks... Always hesitate to downshift😢
I'm not keen on the piano black plastic 😞 But the rest looks really good!
Being that it is assembled in China, are these prices before or after the govt tariffs? Or will everything be imported from the South Korean production line instead?
Before tax
*Looks at the Encore*
They’re not the same car?
With two different names? No.
@@michaels3003 Oh really? 😏🫢
@@jaybou007 , I see that you have an identical twin (two replies).
Wait when that 30 inch screen breaks big money to repair. Are you supposed to drive and watch where you are going instead of playing with the 30 inch screen
Ikr...
Does the Envision require premium fuel? Some say it does, others say it doesn't.

Thanks so much for this review, I have been looking at this and the Mazda Cx5 and for the longest time I was so into the BMW X3 until I test drove it and of course it was a very nice ride but for the price the interior was wack, so dated and disappointing. I love the exterior and interior of the envision !!!!
Is Buick a brand in danger of being discontinued… never on my radar but really like this car especially in black
No, their sales keep increasing every year.
That screen is probably not too hard to replace as there is no fixing it if it fails….however this is an instance where the part will cost more than the labour to replace it….
