    One plastic "fuse" gear is fairly common on metal gear servos, usually it's the last gear right before the motor pinion. Any hit hard enough to strip that gear would probably be enough to split the case or damage the metal gears in an all metal gear servo anyway.

      Agree... he said he had a "hit" and only damage was a cheap plastic gear. Something had to give and better just one gear with no other damage. Must be good servos... not much being said but lots sold since this "new" 09 series came out over two years ago.

      @@JohnFHendry Fine but can you buy the plastic gear?

      @@ror-ys3qp Banggood has the ES08 MDll gear sets in stock so I would think so.

      John F Hendry you have to buy complete set?

    • @JohnFHendry
      @JohnFHendry 3 роки тому

      @@ror-ys3qp I would think Banggood would make it available alone if enough people requested it. I just got an email from Emax regarding an idea so Emax listens and working with Banggood will likely do what's needed. But the problem may be the plastic servo arms are breaking first so not many cases of the plastic gear actually breaking... but metal gears do wear out so hopefully it will become available at least in a set. The nice thing about the plastic gears is they don't generally wear out like the low cost metal gears do. Like atomicskull said it's not very likely the plastic gear will break.

    早期的align ds410m 也有一颗塑料减速齿轮,这很常见 没必要大惊小怪

    Do not let this deter you from buying this servo. It's overall an awesome piece of equipment. If you think your application might strip gears, like a helicopter, just buy a few 3 dollar gearsets.
    I own 12 of these across 3 3d foamie airplanes over the last couple years and none have failed or stripped in a crash. Awesome servos! In the price range nothing centers like these and nothing has as smooth of a gear train. If you only want to spend ten bucks on a servo, get these!

    i have es08mall and havent had any problems , work much better than my $$$$ hitec which stripped out . id rather buy emax than waste big $ on hitec whidh has gone too poo being thats all i bought for 40 yrs. you get what you pay for but these have worked and out lasted several hitec and futaba servos in my ultimate. check center and adjust end points on radio if you can. tthat plastic gear didi quiet servo down , have early version and new of ea.

    Get real. That little plastic gear is not part of the drive train. It only drives the positioning potentiometer. The complete drive train is metal.

      It is the gear that stripped on 3 of the 4 servos I had, and when you activated the servo, that gear spun, none of the other did.

    Its most likely not a drive gear. It just senses position. No real stress on that gear.

      +Attitude RC Yup, after I posted here I heard back from Emax. They say ALL es09md's now being sold have that plastic first gear. They did it to make the servo quieter. Kinda deceptive though because in their ad they cleverly hide the gear behind the metal ones. Anyway, hope this helps clarify things a bit. Steve

      They clearly show the gear as metal on their website. www.emaxmodel.com/servos/swash-servos-and-rotor-tail-servos-for-450-heli/es09md-dual-bearing-specific-swash-servo-for-450-helicopters.html

      You're right, I got turned around. Although they told me directly that they changed that gear to quiet down the servo, I imagine they more likely did it to save a few cents per servo. I guess all's fair in profit and war.
