Great vid. I tend to go with all the dark contrast colours and then finish with the lighter ones as it's easier for clean up. This will help with the under suit and leather straps.
That red turned out more "bloodravenly" (especially with the "bony" fabric), blood angels seem to be brighter. Which means its a perfect tutorial for me :P
Hey Matt, just wanted to let you know you're my favorite hobby channel lately. It's crazy what you can do with contrast paints and you really find a way to explain it simply!
I really appreciate you keeping up with the miniatures of the month. Other channels I watched have fallen off from doing them, but glad to see you’re still doing them great 💪
Thanks! Got a Space Wolves video here in the meantime ua-cam.com/video/XP55n5XU4Q4/v-deo.html though I wouldn't mind painting up a Scout some time soon too!
Would like to see some dark angels please😁 and when you get back to fantasy again some chaos or dwarves would great. You have a similar painting style to warhipster on youtube but i find that you have that bit more finesse and lovely detail. And your videos are so chill and relaxing to watch! Really great stuff, i hope games workshop takes note and starts sending you minatures to promote for them
A Space Marine video? Hmmm, OK, I'll allow it seeing as it's Blood Angels. Interesting take highlighting black that way and with the darker skin tone, which isn't something you usually see. I like it! I just ordered over 100 resin bases to rebase my company of Blood Angels which are all Rogue Trader era plastic beakies. If you do any more marines I think you should do a custom chapter. Pick a theme and really lean into it. Do some conversions, talk about how you developed a color scheme, and maybe do some freehand somewhere. Cheers Mr. Matt.
Really nice video, youre a very good painter - I know theyre a bit boring but I feel like painting some ultramarines would be good for your channel growth but for fun id like to see some more seraphon or maybe dwarfs.
Thanks for watching and for the suggestion! I use Rosemary and Co series 99's, sizes 2, 1, and 0. I use size 1 for nearly everything, although the brushes are all so close in size anyway that I don't feel it would really be helpful to mention it. My biggest concern is just that the brush has a good point.
thanks for watching! To be honest I don't even pay much attention to the brush sizes myself! I don't have much of a formula or system for which brush I use. I don't think the brush size makes much of a difference, as long as it has a good point. I typically use a size 1 for nearly everything, and once in a while a 2 for larger areas or a 0 for eyes, but the sizes are all so close anyway. Hope this helps!
This is a great tutorial for me, as you use the cream and the fiery red tones! BTW, do they just give the mini of the month to you, or do they require you to do something to get it?
Contrast is what it is called exactly. Contrasting. If you don't have more than 2 spots to "contrast" each other (high/low , light dark) them the paint does work example - armor
the steel legion drab glaze added on the leather gives such a nice worn effect
yeah it really does. And if it pools a little unevenly, I'll just kind of follow those shapes when I add scratches.
I think a video on brushes and better brush control would be awesome.
Good idea! Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks! Trying my best. As long as I manage to grab one, and the miniature looks cool!
Absolutely amazing work, mate! Great results and I love the speed of the tutorial too.
Thank you! Trying to strike that balance with lots of footage without it getting too repetitive/boring.
@@MattsHobbyHour You have done a great job balancing it. No, not boring at all! Well done!
Great video! For some reason when I see scouts, I think Raven Guard. Plus, tips to make so much black exciting are always appreciated.
that would be a fun color scheme to paint! Thanks for watching!
This glaze technique looks fun to try
Very useful technique to keep in your toolbox!
Fantastic. Nice job Matt.
Thanks for watching!
Solid paint video my man would love to see a space Wolf scout next time you do one

Good idea! Thanks for watching!
Great job, so helpful
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!
Lowkey relaxing
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching!
Would be great to see a Kroxigor version of your green scheme that you used for the Saurus!

that's a good idea for a video! I'll have to brush up on my lore (of which I know almost nothing!). Thanks for watching!
Would love to see your take on the Carcharodons, nobody seems to do them the same.
thanks for the suggestion!
I really do love your videos. There is no reason why you shouldn't be at 200k+ followers. I really hope others get onto the Hobby Hour band wagon! :)
Thank you! Momentum seems to be building, hopefully that wagon will be filled up soon!
That glaze tip is a game changer, could we see a bit more about how you make the glaze?
Just paint and water! Very simple. I can include more footage in the next video. Thanks for watching!

yah i like this

This is a great tutorial for me, as you use the cream and the fiery red tones! BTW, do they just give the mini of the month to you, or do they require you to do something to get it?
Thanks for watching! No purchase is needed for the free mini. They usually have limited stock though. Best to call your store and check first.
@@MattsHobbyHour They somehow always have some sort of thing you need to participate in to get it
@@joseale2310 I have never experienced that here in the US. They just give the model to me.
What brush are you using?
For most of this video I used a Rosemary and Co series 99, size . I used a series 33 size 1 for some of the very fine detail work.
Should have given him blonde hair cause blood angels and would make him look like simon phoenix from demolition man😂
