I have to agree. These GE motor versions I think are the rare one, but I’m not positive. They sound super good though despite how old they could be. These things are bulletproof and you just can’t kill these old sirens.
Considering the torque of that powerful motor, and the possibly of structural fatigue, due the age and corrosion of the mounting brackets, I would recommend beefing up the mounting just in case. My guess is this has been mounted there for decades.
I think this is actually a STH-10B because it has its own cap and it has a thick cord look at the difference between this recording and other STH recordings
Dang that's awesome! I honestly thought this thing didn't work considering how rough it looks. Might have to record this in the fall sometime because you could get a nice shot with the trees.
@@lukemicsky3086 I've taken a picture a month ago and one a year ago of the gettysburg sterling and it appears the chopper is in the same position. I don't know if this is a way of telling but the fire dept said the sterling and sth are active
Awesome video!!! Love it when these things have GE motors. It really gives them the punch they need, and makes them sound very healthy.
@theati0 because i'm epic. (This is my siren acc btw)

The model STH-10’s 6-minute wind down is part if it’s charm. Plus, the beeps segued perfectly into the siren. 🎶
Excellent catch. 👍

That siren sounds like a Baritone Sound when it winds down.

Up in Seaforth Ontario they also have a STH-10 as well don't know if she still works
I like when the siren shakes when it winds up. 🤣

I live right between 2 STH-10s one to the north one to the south, they arent even a mile apart, on rare occasoin they will harmonize in attack.
Sounds like s single tone 3t22/2t22
it is
Do a linglestown fire siren test
There's already multiple videos of it from other people. I will probably get to it at some point, but you could also do it yourself.
@@lukemicsky3086 I don't live in Harrisburg that would be hard plus you videos are high quality
Cross between a Federal Signal 2001 and a Federal Signal 3T 22
Agreed! 🤣
Or just the top half of the 3T22
Can u do the penndel station 8 siren? It has rare square horns on it and it's an stl 10
When was this STH-10 Installed?
Sound analyzed, It's a perfect 700Hz.

Extreme heat video 🔥
They used a lot of activation tones on this particular siren just to set it off for testing 😂😂
I thought you said Cashtowns STH was not working?!
Nice!!!
How many sirens are still active in Adams County these days?
At least 12, maybe a couple more (Not sure about Abbotstown/New Oxford/the Gettysburg Sterling).

If they do work, only for weather
Noice was this manually activated?
STH-10A or B?
A
B
@@therailcat9790 Damn that thing has a PUNCH for being an STH-10B!
its most definitely an A
its not possible that a single phase motor can be this powerful
i meant 1:58 seconds
1:58PM
I meant 10 4 I heard you loud and clear
Pretty powerful for a single phase repulsion! Sounds pretty healthy even if it looks like it's seen better days it keeps ticking.

If there's ever a tornado in my small town in KS, I'm f*cked. I have fully slept through every test 😶
