To hear this brother tell his story has lead me to truly believe that this is how my mother was treat in her last days. My heart and prayers going out to this brother and his family.❤❤
So sad it is that our elderly are treated so badly. Because this guy is quite young and able to speak out about his treatment, but the poor older dementia residents can't speak up or out about anything. I also worry about my Mum when new workers come into the Nursing home, because some of these younger workers are not good and can get quite cranky easily with the older ones. I keep my eyes wide open every time I visit mum.

I worked in a low rated nursing home. But let me tell you this, if I was working (nurse/LPN) I was on those aides like white on rice. Thats exactly why you can't get too chummy with the staff. The ones i was cool with if they was slacking i would just say "im going to help you change so and so" because im hands on. Any time certain staff was on, we friggin rocked. Unfortunately i knew for the most part when i went home or was off that people would not be given better care. Im starting to miss bedside a little. Im at a clinic now and i still find myself advocating for the patients. It never stops when you're a nurse. I have so many stories.
Unless you have money and can afford assisted living ,this is what you are most likely to end up with. Like all businesses, the owners of these places want to keep costs down and profits up, so that means hiring as few persons as you can get away with. They don't care about the residents comfort. Its just a warehouse until you die.
Well nursing home is just a place to house them people untill they die. It's no surprise when a love one is abuse in nursing home people be shock. They dont care for the patients a lot of them just want a paycheck.

As a CNA working in a nursing facility it is a very difficult job. I have on a regular bases 25 resident and have had as many as 31, what quality of care can you give an individual with such a patient load? Even with that many people to care for I do rounds every two hours. There is a shortage of CNAS at mt facility due to choice by manage . The very same hall I work at night has 2CNAS on it for 1st, 2nd shifts. Some people believe the residents magically go to sleep at 11:00p and magically awaken at 7:00a. Well let me enlighten you people, it does not work like that. So, your love one is not going to get the attention they need. Until legislation is passed to make it illegal ro have moore than 15 residents at a time there will continue to be overworked, severly understaff workers Workers who don't have the time to feel from the heart, to give residents the compassion they deserve and the time to do it.

The nurses should be warned they will suffer severe consequence for abusing any patients.
The fact we HAVE to warn them about common sense is just shocking
I got my Mom out of that place, she came home terrible. Went straight to the hospital for 2 weeks when she came to my house.

And that's the plan for ALL disabled people who need 24/7 care. Changes have been being made over last 2yrs behind closed doors.

Blame the management. Stop blaming nurses and CNAs. They dont hire enough staff for profits. 😢😢😢😢😢
