- Irving Vendig's legendary crime serial, that became must see under the pen of Henry Slesar. Here's my reimagination of the close from late 1975.
**SPECIAL THANKS TO THE EDGE OF NIGHT HOMEPAGE and BWADEINTHEWATER for the TimeLapse of Cincy video.
Great job! Great sound and lettering. I always loved the orchestrated original theme.
I always love the theme song.
Wow, that is fantastic work! A great tribute to a wonderful show!
Shortly after this, later in 1975, EDGE OF NIGHT left CBS, and ABC cancelled its revival of YOU DON'T SAY! to keep it on air for several more years.
Great 70s soap
Thank you!
Thank you!!
I grew up watching the Edge of Night with my mother when I was not in school.
Je
It was perfect video. Thank you very much!
@ 2:00, This is CBS!
I too, enjoyed the Edge Of Night when I was not sitting in the doctor' s office
Thanks for using my time lapse... It seemed to have worked well with your theme.
Bravo! Sponsors of (then) P&G products & a plug for Match Game 75.
Given your cast collection and the time frame, there is one glaring omission - Maeve McGuire as the one and only Nicole Travis Drake.
Great job loved this theme song and the show back then got kind of tired of it after Nicole left the first time but so many great stories
I hope y’all will reply to this if this was I. 1975 how come this is in black and white???????!!!!!!!!!
Did anybody know that Irving Vendig created this show? It premiered in 1956!
'"Here's my reimagination..." meaning the audio was real and the visuals recreated? I really like those nighttime cityscape pics. Were they part of the EON closing, or similar at least? (It was only in the early-mid 80s that I regularly watched the show.)
The wow and flutter at the beginning says that part was captured realtime off the air.
Do you really think the earlier "warmly" theme was better than the one that ran the first couple years on ABC (which they later made the disco version of)? It's funny--I'm SO in love with the ABC one. I bet much of the reason is THAT'S the first one I heard when I discovered the show on ABC. I think MOST of the themes in 78-80 were the best versions of nearly EVERY soap, now i have to wonder if it's because of nostalgia or truth--lol
that name Hal sims rings a bell has he annouced anything else besides edge of night back in the day
I love Hal Simms great announcer
Thank you!
