The craziest part about her besides that crazy fucking range her voice has is shes mostly (like 95%) self taught and she started by singing covers in her own closet. Her control at such a rediculously young age and her ability to use things most singers try to avoid as a strength (such as the voice cracks or breaks) and adapt her own style is simply incredible.
I heard that Shina Ringo, who is the original singer song writer of this song, said that: "If there were Ado when I released this song, I would NOT sing this song." Anyway, if you want to listen more special Japanese song, I would recommend "白日 Hakujitsu" by King Gnu.
Her singing style is so...free. if anything she kind of breaks conventional ways you'd think about singing, and uses what are normally considered WEAKNESSES most singers actively avoid as a strength...she is literally her own autotune at some points, its incredible.
@@noseboop4354 Except she never meant to 'beat' them, she genuinely adores VOCALOID and UTAU. She loves Miku with all her heart and has used Gekiyaku. She joined them from the first second. :')
the first time i listened to Ado's cover of crime and punishment i was laying in my room at like midnight, headphones in, eyes closed, and it got a full body reaction out of me. when she let out that scream halfway through the song i was brought to tears. Ado's voice is AMAZING.
I believe Ado's Odo Live version would be great for the next Ado reaction. It's unbelievable how she can sing like that at the end of a 2-hours concert!
So long as they do a compare/contrast, similar to their approach with Ado's cover of Unravel. Though super impressive at the end of a show, the produced track is worth hearing & I think their video for it is so much fun.
The most impressive part isn't just her vocal toolbox, but how she uses it to express the depth of the lyrics. If you looked a little into the meaning of her words you'd find a lot of inspiration for WHEN she decides to use those vocal techniques.
Ado is the best singer in Japan. It is said that she has 200 voices. She says herself that even if she sings a lot of songs on the stage, she won't have a sore throat the next day,
BAHAHAHA I LOVE THIS GUY. THE WAY HE SQUINTED AND LOOKED UP THE MOMENT THE SONG PLAYED 0:31 IS KIND OF FUNNY TBH. One of my reactions when I first heard Ado
I love how you explain how to do certain singing techniques ado does! I was Inspired to start singing again after I came across Ado and I fell in love with how she sings, especially since it seems more free/experimental, raw, and emotional. I honestly found it difficult to sing and add distortion to my voice until I came across your reaction videos to ado, and I noticed a lot of progress! I also love how you not afraid to show the difficulty of attempting to do some notes/screams Ado does, it helps me feel better about how it takes me a lot of experimenting 😅
I love that entire section towards the end. There's so much emotion being conveyed. The way she's using her voice, the audible exhales, the way it builds, the music becoming more and more chaotic in the background throughout...it's so good. It perfectly encapsulates anger, desperation, and sorrow
I think this is the most thorough and in-depth analysis I’ve seen of her vocal performance on this cover. Which is nice cause you can tell she’s doing a lot in this, it’s just hard for us non-vocalists to figure out what exactly
I just want to say how thankful I am that you are teaching and expressing how important it is to be free and open to explore one's vocal limits and textures. I've loved singing for a long time, but it wasn't until recently that I came to know that I've been scared of testing and exploring my own voice. A lot of it has come from how I was raised to use my head voice only, so much so that I have a hard time entering and identifying my chest and mixed voice. Voices like hers and people like you help me to see how much more I can be. Thank you.
🤯 Wow Great analysis and really a great example of what you teach. Love it! 🤩 Especially helpful for me as a female vocalist hearing a female voice do all these crazy, messy, sweet, jagged, smooth, all together, falling apart, amazing sounds and hear how fantastically they come together to form an outstanding performance. I’m so pumped. Thanks… gotta go listen to the other video now…
The funny thing is when you discuss all about ado's Scream in her song. But she actually sing the lyrics "Fuon na himei wo ai sana ide" Which means "don't fall in love with my disturbing Scream" In this song.
OMG OMG OMG You did it!!! glad to see a fellow appreciator of Ado's vocal range. I don't think I've heard a song from her I've disliked, but some that really showcase her voice are God-ish, Fleeting Lullaby, Odo, and Töt Musica (Fleeting Lullaby is my personal favorite out of these)
I like the fact you mentioned how she experiments with her voice which is something I do as well (I’m not a professional vocalist by any means) by singing songs from different genres and even languages (I only know English so it sounds like gibberish when I try) and it definitely unlocks things in my voice I never knew I could do 🤩 thank you for the insight and reaction to this

What i mean is it took Disturbed releasing The Sound of Silence for people to understand just how talented David Draiman actually is. Ado's took that Idea and ramped it up by a factor of ten, I love all of Ado's songs but just the power of her voice in this one is still incredible to me since it's just pure singing when her usual style is that playfulness and attitude that she uses in her songs where you never really know what she's going to do. she can flip into Rapping or flip her voice from low to high on a dime in the same verse Godish By Ado (【Ado】 神っぽいな 歌いました) is a good representation of her voice control, Fleeting Lullaby by Ado shows her playfulness and Rap skills. Crime & Punishment is A lot like Gira Gira by Ado in tone with it's seriousness but Crime & Punishment is by far the most pure showing of Ado's Voice and just how Talented she is.
You should react to her God-ish cover too, Its so insane hearing how her she could sing in a totally different voice to the point that you don't even recognize her , the way she sings it in my opinion is way better than the original.

Comparing to the original by Sheena Ringo, the way Ado interprets this song gives me a more violent, more desperate, almost hysterical vibe to it, you could feel the anger in her voice when she sings, almost like she found out she’ve been cheated on and now releasing all her anger by destroying literally everything in her room with a spiked baseball bat. On the other hand the way Sheena Ringo handles feels less angry and a bit more emotional where you could hear the ups and downs in her voice. Still angry, but not as angry as Ado, just throwing things away instead batting everything up in the room But nevertheless, both of them are really talented singers and BTW Ado just released a song called All Night Radio, def worth checking it out
Keep going with Ado, you can't really go wrong with any of her songs or covers. Just about every one displays something unique about her voice and approach.

I would really love to see you react to her cover of God-ish, in my opinion it is the best song to show off her incredible vocal talent. You hear it and think it is multiple singers.
Her voice is like a monster whose power you want to use and you have to know how to control it so that it doesn't get out of control and do things you don't want, because she sings at a limit where the slightest mistake is very noticeable, it's an incredible thing.

Just made a video on it!
Wow, I'm looking foward to it!
Her voice is like a monster whose power you want to use and you have to know how to control it so that it doesn't get out of control and do things you don't want, because she sings at a limit where the slightest mistake is very noticeable, it's an incredible thing.
Thanks for the linkie🙏
I would definitely recommend "Tot Musica" from the One Peice film. It is also another great song to hear range from her.
