It perfectly captures the raw desperation, anger, lonliness, and sorrow felt by anyone who can relate to the songs topic. The way the music slowly "falls apart" under her vocals, the way she sings and gradually builds the verse, the sharp audible inhales, everything is so perfecr and well done here.

Some people think that ADO's singing style is too strong and doesn't fit the lyrics and atmosphere of the song, but I thought it was a good cover. I used to like "Crime and Punishment" (by Sheena Ringo) and used to listen to it when I was a student, but I like ADO's cover better than the original. Besides, it's nice to see an old song revived in this way. Speaking of which, there is a live version of yoasobi's "idol" out there if you're interested. Well, since you are a drummer and like Japanese bands, you need to listen to Band-Maid, a fantastic all female rock band with one of the top drummers in the world Akane Hirose. They also just had a new song come out called Shambles. I also recommend No God, Play, and Puzzle. Also you can't do bad with more Ado!
I second, third, fourth and fifth this! Akane is possibly the world's Happiest Drummer. She almost always has a smile on her face, and I've never seen her mess up yet!
