I have used a piece of software called Debut Video Capture to capture the game directly from the screen (native 4:3 ratio). It was captured using the XVID ISO MPEG4 codec, and the sound was captured in MP3 (44.1KHz at 192 kb/s).
The final HD video was rendered using Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11, using the Internet 1280x720-30p option. This works fine on a 16:9 monitor but causes a "box" problem when viewed at 480 (4:3 ratio).
I think this is because Vegas force-adds the black borders to the 4:3 source video to make it 16:9, UA-cam is not pan and scan so letterbox puts the ratio out.
My sincere apologies for this, I will probably upload future series in 480 instead of 16:9 unless natively captured at 16:9.
If anybody wants me to re-upload the Broken Sword 1 and 2 series at 480 I am willing to do so, just comment me and "it shall be so" :)))

I could never figure this out when I was a kid. I don't think I ever got to put the bottle in the chimney.
I have to admit that back in the day when I first played this it was quite an obscure puzzle. It was an act of desperation that I tried the bottle and it worked. Back then the puzzle logic was a more "try everything in your inventory" approach, the game Discworld Noir is an example of that. Things are thought through a lot more these days ;)
Same. I played this on a demo and didn't get very far! Ot just popped into my head 20+ years later and here we are lol
