Absolutely beautiful intro; the soundtrack is probably one of the greatest in video game history, and the beauty of the cartoon-style animation fits wonderfully. So glad they released it on Steam! (Even if the intro has since changed...)
Yeah why did they do that in the directors it’s tragic. I have the original ps1 versions of them so I’m good. And I can always watch this when I’m feeling nostalgic
I think the creators of this superb game were suffering a mid-life crisis when they decided to tamper with it by removing this iconic intro from the butchered DC version.
My first introduction to Broken Sword was the Director's Cut, which I played two years ago or so. I loved it. Then yesterday I found out the original game is also on Steam, as a DLC for the DC, for free. I immediately downloaded it and started playing it, and this intro greeted me. This one is so much better than the DC's intro, I was grinning from ear to ear, and I can't wait to play the original game.
I like this intro better; I didn't know much about the game when I got a hold of the Director's Cut version, where you start playing as Nico, so I naturally thought Nico was the main character in the game. It was confusing and kind of roughly put together but still, a great game!
Paris in the fall,the last months of the year and the end of the millennium,memories memories memories,i cant forget this game,our childhood,i think if i grab a ps controller now i will rememer it,how our lifes change?....
If you have never played the original 1997 PC version definitely pick that up instead! much higher resolution graphics the artwork is beautiful! Avoid the directors cut/updated one on steam it just ruins the magic and nostalgia.

I played it with my dad and brother, too :) The scene in the hospital where machines starts to beep frightened me a lot!

this still gives me goosebumps but also now brings tears to my eyes as Barrington Pheloung the composer died on August 1st 2019. I love his work.

Yeah it’s like they ripped out the game’s soul. I bought this game and the second in a bundle called ‘white label classics’

Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars Reforged is releasing in Q2 this year after a successful Kickstarter campaign.

It would be too costly for Revolution. The directors cuts were expensive as it was.
