The first time I built a DIY computer, I did it with your videos as a guide. Ever since then you've been my favorite TechTuber.
Same here
The first time i assembled a computer youtube didn't exist.
@Zigest what does this even mean
Exactly this! Thanks for consistently making _excellent_ build guides!
Big mistake
One thing to remember that everyone forgets to mention. Get a new, quality surge protector power bar. It's a $20 insurance policy against power spikes or lightning strikes, black outs or brown outs and in conjunction with a quality power supply will protect that nice new computer from that bastard Murphy and his law.
This was so freaking HELPFUL!!! I’m such a meathead & I found this video to be the best guide out there. From the acronyms, parts & functions, location to install cabled conns, detailed overview of components, etc.
Attempted my 1st PC build following this guide & it was a total success. This is truly a helpful guide & series for complete newcomers with NO PC background/no-how.
So ecstatic right now.
Were there any hard lessons learned? I am looking to build this exact PC setup
Even as a veteran pc builder since the 90's, my last one was 2015, so this was insanely useful as a refresh. Thank you, great work!
Great job Paul. I've been studying videos for a while now before attempting my first build and your series is by far the best. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.
I just built my 1st PC yesterday and this guide was a huge help as I had know Idea what I was doing especially with the motherboard and connecting everything to it, so thanks for that you made something I had been stressing out over a very chill and rewarding experience
I'm comfortable building computer and have been for quite some time, but I always love watching your build guides. I swear, you're the modern Bob Ross. So relaxing!
Yes! The Bob Ross of PC's! "We're just gonna put a happy little thumbscrew here..."
Just wanted to say i watched a bunch of PC building tutorials before I ordered all my parts and now that I have them this is the one I came back to, genuinely the most friendly and informative - would be lost without it. Fav computer channel of all time.

I'm building a pc for the first time at 33. This video was everything I needed thanks!
How did it go? Well I hope :)
Wow, this brings back memories. Your 3-part build up PC vids in Newegg were the first tutorials I ever saw back then on 2011-2012 when I built my very first PC. Really helped me a lot.
Hey Paul, your videos on how to build a PC on the old Newegg channel (~2011) was my first exposure and inspiration for building systems and PC gaming in general. I’ve always enjoyed your work and it’s so great to see you still making videos. Thanks Paul!
Love to see u on the tube still showing how to build PCs pauls hardware. Built my first pc back in 2015 with your help. Built another just last week and one for my parents a while back. This was a huge step in me going into electronics for controls engineering as a field. Thanks for your knowledge!!
Very Nice, Paul. I have watched dozens of build videos over the years. This one is at the top of the list for completeness, clarity and presentation. Looking forward to many more in the future. Thank you for an awesome video!
This is an amazingly simple guide, very very helpful. I've watched a lot of guides and I don't feel like any have done the hand holding that a newbie builder needs to feel confident in the very best way. Excited to put my first PC together next week!
I love the close-up details and info about making each connection. So helpful! Thank you so much!
This was a really good build guide, I can't thank you enough. My only tiny problem is when using a much bigger heatsink and having to put the thermal paste ourselves, I have to fetch another installation guide to be 100% sure. Thanks again sir!
Pro Tip:
Remove Glass sticker glue by tapping the sticky part of the sticker on the glue and pulling away.
This works with any type of tape leaving glue behind.
Good info as always Paul, thanks
man your videos are everything i needed, soo happy to find your channel! thx brother
Love the detail! I always check out your channel for setting up a PC since you show every step needed!
Just did a build last summer. You absolutely nailed the detailed instructions. Although, I know what I am doing, this is the GO-TO guide for anyone building any current gen rig. I learned some cool tips on setting up MB standoffs.
Thanks Joe and Paul and have a wonderful Easter 🐇🐇
My first build case did not have stand-offs pre-installed. None of the manuals explained to me that I needed them. My PC didn't turn on and I didn't know why. I was young and I didn't have UA-cam. AOL was not a good source for me at the time. I didn't know where to look for the info. I took my build to CompUSA, where I purchased the components.
The team at CompUSA was awesome and replaced my motherboard and cpu and re-installed them with the standoffs for $100. They showed the computer posting to BIOS after they were done. They also walked me through what they found and how to avoid it in my next build. This store I'm referring to closed many years ago. The staff that worked there at the time were awesome.
Even though I've built quite a few PCs over the years, I find these updated guides very useful in filling in any gaps, updating best practices and finding resources to share.
I've only ever installed one AIO. RGB and Fan controllers are things I only recently dealt with in the past year. Maybe I will learn something new in the upcoming advanced build video(s). I look forward to finding out.
Masterful, full of dry humour and so much good information and explanation! Easily the best on UA-cam!
this is stress therapy, thank yuo for this, specially with that sweet beat in the backround, double thumbs up !!!!
Thanks for the clear, concise and entertaining video. You're getting me through my very first pc build!
Paul is the best! Watched his video when I wasn't sure if I could/should build my first computer. Think I've watched almost every video since then and that was back in 2019.
Brilliant video, very clear and easy to follow.
Paul's way of going about an instruction is absolutely awesome! I would have loved it, if back when I build my first PC, this was the first video I saw.
Excellent guide,am building my first gaming pc tomorrow and i feel confident thanks to u
Just a quick thanks, this really helped me upgrade, heh, rebuild my pc. Great pace and just enough info and detail to get even me through it. Cheers!
dont forget to remind everyone to not mix power supply cables from model to model even within the same brand and brand to brand without checking and being absolutely sure they are compatible. the outputs from the power supply are almost always laid out different but always the same pin connections that go to power devices
Thats why the wires are the same color, they just sort out the power themselves. Its so nice!
Most brands use identical cables for all their psus like corsair, evga etc.
which I noticed you did remind everyone as i finished watching but never hurts to keep stressing the point every time PSUs get talked about hehe
This can differ in practice. I bought custom cables from CableMod but I had to go with a set marked for previous models from EVGA instead of the one I'm using because the ones marked for my model were 12vhpwr cables while my PSU does not have 12vhpwr.
To be sure I did ask advice on the matter from both CableMod and the store I had previously bought my PSU from. Both agreed that the cables marked for the previous models should be compatible in my case.
@@drunkhusband6257 corsair has type 3 and 4 which are compatible but they also have some older ones
Built my first pc using this guide series. Worked a treat. Thank you, sir!
A Paul build guide is always the best build guide! Three videos in a week, cheers!

this is a brilliant episode. I have spent the last 4 hours down a rabbit hole and will head to the PC store and give it a go this week!
Great tutorial. Super informative. Thank you very much for all the hard work you do.
Well done. Easy to follow along with good, but not overwhelming explanations.
About to build my first PC and I will be following this video step by step. Thanks!
Great video! Thank you for posting. 🤙
thanks , your listing of parts did help me reconfigure my plan of pc build. thanks for this one , good luck for then next one.
Awesomesauce video, Paul!! Thank you for reminding people that the Manual can and should be used during installation! Back before YT, I always used it to make sure I didn't miss anything.
Good to see "How To Build a PC" is back!
By far your guide has been the most easy to understand and actually fun to watch and your forever sarcastic tone just makes everything better XD
This was excellent. Thank you!
Nice to have this as a reference. I've built two rigs and I'm happy to watch this before I do my third.
Always worth watching Paul's guides even if it's just to refresh ones memory.
I love what you're doing you're videos helped try understand the pc building a pc instead of just buying one
Built my first PC over a decade ago using the old Newegg TV video guide that you hosted! You've always produced top tier build guides! Thanks for continuing the iterations.
Hey, thanks for sharing your support for the old Newegg TV video guide! It's great to see someone who appreciates the value of step-by-step build guides. Speaking of optimizing your PC setup, have you heard about the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule? It's a fantastic tool for keeping your desktop spotless with its powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities. With its compact design and versatile accessories, it's perfect for maintaining a clean environment in various spaces. Check it out - I think you'll find it helpful!
great vid, wow wasn't until the front I/O cable plug in that I realized how long this vid is. Great work Paul thanks for the tips
I was literally building a PC when you released this.
Very nice instructions for first time builders and people who haven't built for a few years
You are so good at teaching people and me😊 Thank you your step are very simple and easy to understand
Just Purchased some Merch from your store !!! Appreciate all you do for others, so I've decided to support u !! Cheers !!
i missed seeing this .... Simply THANK YOU !
This is a fantastic video!! I’ve been wanting to build a pc for years but whilst I get poorer, parts get expensiver!!!!!!!! But I like to keep up to date and accrue as much info as I can in the mean time and this video is top notch! I subbed half way through!! Now moving on to part 3!! Keep up the great content!!!
I think you were the guy I watched to build my first PC like 8 years ago. Thanks Paul!
super helpful. Best one on how to build on UA-cam!
you are a king for this. great video as usual!
This helped me build my first PC 4 months ago! I can't wait for part 4 so I can learn how to start playing games!!!
Love these, thank you Paul!
Great build guide. Thank you!!
Very detailed steps and help full, Thank you ❤
Great content Paul, I struggled with PSU cabling when I build my first rig so this kind of videos are super useful
Hey, {{3}}! Glad you found the post helpful. When it comes to cleaning and maintaining your PC, I highly recommend looking into the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It's a compact, dual-function device that offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities. With features like a brushless motor, multiple tubes, and high-quality filters, it's a great tool for keeping your desktop spotless. Plus, it's versatile enough for other uses like cleaning your car's interior or inflating items. Check it out, you might find it useful too!
Nice video! I'm just starting my new build. Love Microcenter. Wish one was close to me, though, but I still make the trip. 😎
Awesome video!!!!!
I laughed out loud during the case unboxing!
Thank you Paul! Really helpful and useful for newbies like me and avoiding all the unncessary and overly complicated jargon for "beginners" like LTT did.
nice build. fun step-by-step!! Merci
Great video man. Really appreciate the effort you put into this. Your original series is what got me into PC building in the first place.
Done a lot of builds since but always good to go back to roots.
I know how to build a PC, but I enjoy your videos. This one is EXCELLENT! 🤓It is relaxing as well as informative.
Great vid! Learned and built a pc from the knowledge from last vid (and Jay) a few years ago with my daughter. Now my son is building one. Watching this is his homework
Thanks dude for it🔥🔥
Uber comprehensive and always fun to watch, even if you aren't doing a build! 😎
Yesssss tha k you!!!!!! Havent build my system since i followed your step by step in 2018 with my 2600 and a gtx1080 abd mannnnn im so excited to finally have the funds to build new! And i want to go crazy and do it right and do it beautifully cause im an addict. Also loving microcenter even with limited selections. Cheeeeers! Amazing stuff and cant wait to learn if i want am5 or am4 and how to leverage my 7900xt the best now and also how i mught keep my old pc living with a 5600x upgrade or something to keep my 1080 working and my stuff good for browsing and casual play. New build can do crazy cyberpunk stuff hah
A very thorough how to! Good job buds!
Excellent video, Paul!
oh the memories of pausing and rewinding my first build while watching sensei Paul building a pc. Always good stuff
Another trap for new builders is recently I have noticed that some Cooler Master cases have standoffs that are two different thread sizes. Problem when you get a screw stuck and can't remove the motherboard. Thanks Paul, I learnt something new today.
this is excellent build guide i think, especially for a newbie builder, some good tips heard so far, and someday will build my own fully possibly, not sure when exactly yet, but someday
Others should see how a true step by step guide should be done especially cable inputs and management! Excellent!
Thanks!!! Super detailed
This will be very helpful when I start building my first DIY pc this weekend.
Outstanding Step-by-Step Guide for a Beginner to No How to build a computer. I had to learn how to build a computer from UA-cam back in 2016 when my computer was bought at Best Buy and died days after my purchase and had to return to IBuyPower and they took 4 months of playing around just to replace the motherboard and video card that shorted. Unfortunately I still have to use it today with a B85 board, a 4460 cpu and a 750ti as I was forced to retire early do to health on a fixed income but I did build a High end gaming computer with my grandson 3 years ago learning from Paul and others years ago. This build does it all step by step.
Thanks for this well presented how-to video.
Hi Paul.. I am Subscriber from India. I am following you from your new egg days. My first show I watched where you, Kyle & jenny answers the questions sent by Newegg subs. Till date I never got bored of content and I always like watching. I did build two computers one in 2015 (I4770K+970) and In 2020(Ryzen3700X+2070 super). I only referred to your Build and review videos. I also like your Vlog type videos like garage work, office setup.
This How to build guide videos of yours is a soothing video and I love watching again and again.
Your Tech news videos are very crisp and short. Keep up the good work and best wishes to your continued effort..
and Joe I love you, Subbed your channel too.
This was awesome ! Thx so much .
Thank you for actually building a “budget”/beginner pc for a decent price. Most other big pc you tubers seem to think that price range is closer to 1500
Awesome guide Paul!
Thank you Paul, your chopstick method of unlatching a graphics card from the PCIe slot saved us ❤; We had a fried card to remove and clearance was tight because of a Dark Rock 4 Pro CPU cooler was installed.
I've been building for ages, and watching tech tubers for over a year, but there were still tidbits I didn't know hiding in this one.
Great video, cheers!
За свои годы увлечения сборкой железок, я собрал около 400 систем. Скажу так: я использую всегда нитриловые перчатки. Даже в момент вынимания комплектующих из коробки. Т.е. как стоматолог.
The best tutorial 👍🏻👍🏻
I've never built a LGA type cpu so i watched just for that and to support one of my fav tech channels
The best PC building tutorial I've seen on UA-cam
Thank you!
Building computers is such a meditative and soothing activity ❤️🙏
Glad you are still doing these. Your guides helped my build my first pc back in 2017 during that first crypto boom. Had to get a 750ti 4gb back then.
which one did you get? I remembered that afox, the company that got flamed for allegedly selling repurposed gpu dies once sold a 4GB version of the GTX 750 LP
@@baoquoc3710 I think it was a gigabyte card.
I’ve built and rebuilt at least 8 systems in the last year yet I still have the bug…living vicariously through you by watching this vid.
Watched your 2019 guide to build my own first PC. It’s fun to see how things have changed since!
tbh most people would be fine with good m2 ssd and adequate ram, without any tweaking at all
but those can give more fps/ responsiveness
and stability
You’re doing the Lords work going over all the cable connections for a first time builder like myself! Subscribed, bell, like, purchasing sponsored product.
im going to build a new PC very soon and this was very helpful
