If your waistbands on skirts are getting too loose, you can always double up the ribbing for the waistband, fold it over, then run a piece of waistband elastic through the space you've created, then sew the elastic to the inside of the ribbing and sew the ribbing closed. I made a circle skirt using this method, and, even though the yarn I made it out of is heavy, it doesn't fall down or stretch out.

I highly recommend Sara Spaceman for anyone and everyone new to sewing, she breaks things down really well and she is very knowledgeable about sewing and cosplay in general. There is so much to learn about sewing and she makes it very easy to digest

I absolutely love this vlog. So many crochet blogs lean heavy on the aesthetics and showing sped up footage of crochet. You talk more and explain your process and that is my favorite. I like to listen to blogs while doing other stuff like crocheting and having a hang out with you makes my day.
Thank you so much for your content.

I’d say go for it! You can always start off making videos without your face in it. There are lots of successful, faceless creators. Don’t let people who you’ll probably gonna forget about one day stop you from doing something you really want to do and could change the direction your life goes in. You got this!

That’s why I had to stop knitting, the strain on my wrist and fingers was too much. So I just gave up on that.
Crocheting…I take very long breaks and just stop because I get cramps in my fingers/hands. But since watching your channel you had me running to Michaels and Walmart for yarn. So I’m just refreshing myself and making a mesh hat for my locs. Take breaks so my hands won’t stress either.
I always wanted to learn how to use a sewing machine…the world is endless once you could master it!

There is an old saying: "If you fail to plan: you plan to fail" but what young person does everything right the first time?
Sometimes you learn more from your mistakes than you do from your successes.
You remind me of my younger self - so eager to complete something so I could use it/wear it/gift it or show it off etc.. 🙃🙂
You've learnt how to use a sewing machine, how to line a crocheted and uneven shaped bag requiring intermediate to advanced sewing skills.
So, as someone once said, "All's well that ends well"

Always remember to add seam allowance, ironing the fabric will seriously make such a huge difference and make sewing a THOUSAND times easier(trust it seems so small but it makes everything easier and look so much cleaner too) and always try and pin with the pins perpendicular to the machine so they slide out easier!
Also when doing corners or rounded edges or anything like that cut little slits(notches) into the fabric before you sew it and it won’t bunch up and will lay super flat and clean and make sewing a lot easier as well!

For the fairy skirt, maybe you could try adding a strip of fabric on the waistband to line it and make it a little sturdier? I'm not a sewer so not sure if it would actually work but it might keep the piece in shape for longer. Love your long videos!! xx

When putting linings in bags, ALWAYS sew fabric right sides together and leave them that way when you put it in the bag. This hides the lining seams and the wrong side of the bag when you sew along the top edge to connect them.
I think everyone messes this up at least once, by just going on autopilot. 😂

They are pretty inspiring.... a quick tip for adding liners, a small bead of hot glue around the edges works pretty great and looks very clean as well. Be patient with the learning process for sewing. It is a very different crafter vs crochet, but you will figure it out just like you did with knitting.
To save some frustration, cut things larger. Easier to take things in our trim excess off.
For the jacket, you can use a seam ripper from the fabric side to carefully cut the stitching, and use a lint roller or tape to pull any leftover threads out of the yarn.
    You got this!

Personally, i sew all the granny sqaures in a 2D way so that the bag could be completely laid flat on a table and couldnt hold anything (like a blanket). Then i cut the fabric in the shape of the flat bag. Then i sew the lining on, then i stitch the bag together so that at that moment it could hold something ☺️

For the straps of your crochet bags, you could also use ribbon and sew it to the strap instead of having to cut out strips of fabric.

    ⏳sorry for the long commet⏳
🧶I'm a day late but yay a vlog video I love when you make these!
🧵The sewing machine is so cute , u should totally cover it in stickers. You did amazing even if u only lined one bag.
🪡My mom has a sewing machine she bought 2yrs ago she still hasn't taken it out of the box so dw both are sewing machine are collecting dust😂 It's bigger than your one but I hope someday I can learn how to use it like you!
📹You should totally make a separate channel for vlogs and gaming that would be great idea.
    🐶Maki is such a cute dog 🥺!
🌈21:37 I could listen to you talk all day 🤭
⚖️Honestly I just loved seeing you go back to old projects and fixing any missing or adding anything on to them.
💐The trousers look great and will look amazing when u get to making the top, the top and the maxi skirt looks amazing, and the last top u made looks great on you.

hey girly, i dont know if anyone already said this, but it will be easier to first sew the lining of the jacket as a whole before connecting it to the crochet. if you copy the measurements of the crochet jacket and make a new "jacket"out of the lining fabric, you can put the two together wrong sides together and just sew the outer borders. or glue the outer borders of the two with fabric glue if you dont want seams to show. thank your for this video, i crocheted along with it

i’m not sure if someone gave you this advice but when you are folding over the fabric you want to fold it over 2 times so the raw edge of the fabric won’t be exposed! it makes for a cleaner edge! either way you did amazing for your first time sewing i look forward to a potential sewing vlog!

follow up! if you want to get a perfect line that closer to the edge you could swap the sewing foot to an edge foot they have a little metal piece in the middle that will keep your stitches going in a straight line!

Great work. Yes, knitting is much harder on the wrists, neck and arms than crochet. The crochet outfits and bag linings are great. I actually really love the black crop top. I think it looks amazing on you. Well done sweetheart. 👍

Maybe for the second to last one along w making it a lil bigger like you said, I think if you also change the color or even add charms or something blinging even on those front strings would elevate the piece nicely🤷‍♀️😊😅

Use should try using the front post back post ribing method, it's very steady and it doesn't stretch😉👌

USE COMPRESSION GLOVES BABE! You'll still need to do exercises but, it helps with pain. It also gives you longevity in perusing the craft when you're a little old lady in your cute little rocking with a cup of tea.
