May I request a video of you talking about what you think of J.K Rowling and her tweets on transgender people? I love Harry Potter and I've seen some of your videos talking about how much you love the books too. Some people are dissing the entire Harry Potter fandom whereas others are separating their love for the fandom and its' author. I personally will always hold HP dear in my heart, however how I feel about Rowling...I'm not sure yet. All I know is that she said and did a thoughtless and hurtful thing. But I've also done stupid and hurtful things myself in the past, as people do. Idk. What do you think? ps. Your voice is beautiful :)

I've planned to make a video addressing some of the things going on around the world, but I have no in depth thoughts about separating the art from the artist. I want to. I think I need to, because I can't stop loving HP. The older I get the more complex ideas (both good and bad) I can see in the story. Some things that have been shaped by JKR aren't fantastic, but overall it's a magical world. Quite literally. I support the lgbt+ community. My best friend's sister is trans, and in my world there is no room for transphobia. I haven't liked JKR in many, many years. Growing up, I used to idolize her, but no longer. I appreciate the universe she gave us all to play in and grow up with, but she's said way too many awful things over the years for me to support her.

Although I don't know any trans people in my life currently, I fully support them and believe they should have equal rights to be who they are freely, as any human should. And their identity should be believed and respected. And (although I'm not trans) being apart of the lgbtq+ I understand a little of what it's like to be misunderstood. And it's heartbreaking that a woman who many people in the lgbtq+ looked up to (myself included) said such hurtful things. But no matter what I think about Rowling, I still think that Harry Potter holds a place in many of our hearts. I really think it is okay to separate the art from the artist. Dr. Seuss was a racist, James Barrie was a pedophile; I still look back fondly of the memories reading Cat and the Hat and Peter Pan. Because humans are beautiful creators equally as they are despicable. That's not excusing the wrong they did, but instead allowing creativity to live stronger than the memory of a messy mind.
