Polestar is a nice vehicle, looks good, good performance and excellent driver interface. Interior layout could be improved. Sandy nailed it.
Polestar 2 is a CHEAPLY made Luxury car in CHINA, that can't even compete with a TESLA model 3.
Polestar 2 is using a OLD GAS car platform, and creates a INEFFICIENT BEV car.
@@markplott4820 The user interface is much better and is more comprehensive, the chassis build is more solid and exterior styling is in another league.
I love my polestar 2 dual motor. But I’ve got some boggles now. Ratchet clicking slowing down. Top mounts rubbing. And don’t get on with the land centering atm.
At last, there are some EV's worth having other then the Tesla. I was beginning to think the only other transport other then the Tesla was either going to be the Electric Milk Float or a Golf Buggy!
NOPE, it's NOT worth more than a TESLA model 3 AWD/Performance and the TESLA model S REFRESH is a BETTER overall value than the POLESTAR 2.
@@markplott4820 costs less than a model 3 long range in canada after incentives
You have to adjust your terms Sandy, it isn’t a gas pedal as it uses no gasoline. An accelerator pedal or go pedal is acceptable.
Sandy's Model Y challengers -- Mach E and PoleStar 2 -- are notable for being the designs that attempt to copy Tesla with the best fidelity.
They didn’t do anything fancy with the door handles to improve aero. I would be concerned about vehicle support in the future. Are there dealers?
I used to own a Volvo XC40. The interior is almost identical.
YES, the Polestar 2 is based on a GAS car.
It's the sedan version of the XC40 with a different dashboard and door cards. But the seats, the vents, the steering wheel, most of the switchgear is identical to the XC40. Underneath, it's probably identical but Polestar tuned.
I’m still surprised that major car companies think they can do a better job and interface design the Apple or Google. Let it go - let the experts to their thing. Happy to see this car did not have the same interface as my Volvo XC90.
Golden rule: "X marks the spot". Even if Indy doesn't agree.
It's a really nice car. Nice form factor. Nice towing capacity. Seems well built. It's only let down by its consumption and not having a charging network. If they could get it more efficient and a deal with Ionity and whatever VW has over there, it would be a the best EV for me. But as it stands, it's probably still the Model 3...
You're wrong about consumption though. More and more people are actually getting WLTP-range now that the temperature is getting higher here in the north. It's just the expectations vs. reality is surprising to people, especially in the winter.
@@Tafsern It's not as bad as Audi eTron, but not as good as Tesla either. Maybe when they make a two wheel drive version.
When I did my testdrive the salesman showed the most common things. Guess nobody showed Sandy, sadly he misses to show some good features.
I don't want anyone to help Sandy with the tech, it skews his real time candid impression(s) of a car. Imho, all settings should be set to default, just like it will be for most owners on their first drive. I also like to see you charging cars in the wild and am sad you did not with this Volvo.
So during the blurred speedo segment, did it go to 3 digits? I know you can't answer if yes, but I can dream, can't I? Best quote: "Nobody's asking to get out of the car"
Can neither confirm nor deny.
It's top speed is 120 mph (200km/h) in Europe.
I’m a bit confused why they’d blur that but not the other bits he’s going 10-20 over. I mean it’s all technically breaking the law isn’t it?
I hope thats not the finished UI. If a user is not able to quickly understand and use it, then it has failed its main purpose.
It should at least have displayed boundaries around the on screen options.
It was quite simple to use, this is the first time I've seen it and it looked easy.
looks amazing I like the google integration. 1 cup holder is a deal breaker though.
I don't know about you, but I am always drinking from two cups simultaneously whilst driving.
@@NicholasShanks 3 bottle technique...
I mean, ok. But, to me, it's a very minor aspect of a car. There was a time when cars didn't have cupholders at all.
The big 3 tech companies will take over vehicle infotainment. Tesla, Apple and Google. Absolutely yes!
I hope not, when an entire car revolves around infotainment it kinda ruins the car. I don't need a screen the size of my torso in a car. My 11 inch in my Subaru works fine. The tech companies have enough money lol
@@andrewmeehan6151 you will be on the wrong side of history.
@@legacytesla doubt it, just watch the video, half of it is spent fiddling with the screen, when I could've just gotten where I was going.
I have alexa in my house, but half the time it is easier to just flick the switch or lock the door rather than trying to get alexa to understand me.
@@andrewmeehan6151 someone obviously doesn't own a Tesla. The value of the display to control everything in the car from the display or phone is definitely a huge perk. And the technology in the infotainment can control more than just hvac, maps, etc. It'll be used to watch movies and play video games, and uses that we haven't thought of.
@@andrewmeehan6151 yes a boomer spent a bunch of time fiddling with a screen he had never used before, true.
Kids growing up now are digital first. After having owned a Tesla for a few years I look at a regular car and never want all the buttons back. Once you're used to it it's a way more efficient use of space and can be updated by the manufacturer. Analog layouts are dead.
So yeah if you're a Luddite or a boomer you may prefer the old way but as soon as you get used to the new way you'll never want to go back.
Thank you for the video form Tatarstan (Russia)
Wow all ur videos are recorded on phones ? Amazing ❤️
What editing software do u guys use?
Adobe Premiere and occasionally Luma Fusion.
Center console looks crowded. There’s no drive shaft. Why dried the knees?
8k OLYMPUS camera is better.
@@markplott4820 i doubt they'll spend that much currently... They aren't trying to become professional YTbers .. possibly in the future 🤷♂️
@@DrewS777 They were so clever to put batteries in the middle so the car is not too tall.
Is it possible to test out the Porsche Taycan?
Shortlisted!
Blocked out the speedometer this time 🤣🤣🤣 love it
I think you'll have even more fun, of a different sort I guess, with the third wave cars, when they figure out all the tricks of how to make them cheap.
Atom: I'm the smallest thing in the world
The x in the screen: Hold my beer
Do you do share range verification tests, or is that pay-to-play level of detail? Thank you, and I look forward to your next video!
Single pedal drive, do you mean no need to use brake pedal at all ??
I like pressing right scroll button and saying "navigate to xyz" in the model 3
Isn't the Polestar $20-30K more expensive than a Model 3 or Model Y?
Shout out to Cory, Sandy and the producers (editors) of these videos. They get better each time.
What about the side-view mirrors?
That's what I call a fingerprint database! Sandy, I think a miniature polestar rubber hammer would be a great extra for you.

how long will it be before google is throwing up ads on your car screen?
Just curious, was this filmed on iPhones?
Yes
