      It's a phenomenon,
      Forgotten Baby Syndrome.
Forgetting a child in the car occurs most often when a parent has a change in routine or is absent-mindedly multitasking while the child is in the car.

Surprised?? I see people do this everyday to people that are supposed to be their "friend." Adults. In every setting. I remember back when I was in highsschool, I was having issues with this one particular girl. And it got so bad that I didn't want to go to school. It was my senior year. I remember my mom telling me once you graduate high school, these people won't matter anymore. And there wont be these kinds of problems.. I'm 38 now, and have realized this is not true. It still goes on into adulthood. People claiming to be close, to be friends, and gossip about them behind their back.. just like highsschool..

She was texting the mother after she picked up the baby and her aunt. Surely that would have reminded her?
Why did she refuse a drug test? It should have been mandatory. Her husband also said he had words with her previously for leaving the baby to sleep in the car. There is no excuse for leaving a baby to sleep in the hot car. I don't believe she forgot. Rhonda is still driving around town in the car the baby died in. That's callous.

42 Years ago when raising my first child I went to the mall with a friend we both had a toddler. We got out of the car, she grabbed my stroller opened it and I put my kid in. She took the stroller and we proceed to the mall. We walked a few feet into the mall and I said something felt odd, as she pushed my daughter she suddenly remembered frantically that her own child was still in the car. This set up to babysit a child on a ; not an every day schedule and babysit at someone’s home bringing the baby of another family could be chaotic with all the distractions in life like cell phones today. I should note I could see the car at all times but my dog was laying down on the back seat. Fortunately as I was about to put the key in the door I remembered the dog amd ran back to get him. I think that is what happened here. She left the baby in the car to meet with 2nd mother and then got distracted and forgot. She should never habe left the child in the car unattended. All the children (the witness three kids & Ariya) all could have been babysat at the babysitters home.

You hear about it more than you'd think. There was a nurse in my state many years ago who normally had her Mother, the child's grandma, pick up her child and take her to daycare. One day the grandma was not able to take the child to daycare but was to pick her up that evening. The mother took the child and then forgot to take her to the daycare, went straight to work, like usual, and worked all day until her Mother called and said she was at the daycare and where was the child. Then the nurse remembered. I don't think they punished her. I think what you did to your child would be punishment enough. How could you ever get over doing that and forgetting about the child. How could your husband ever understand how you did that. I expect you would need therapy forever. So sad.

Unusual as his wife usually does it. He drove to the office, as he does every morning, parked his car, got out and left the sleeping baby in the car. She died.
