I should note I could see the car at all times but my dog was laying down on the back seat. Fortunately as I was about to put the key in the door I remembered the dog amd ran back to get him. I think that is what happened here. She left the baby in the car to meet with 2nd mother and then got distracted and forgot. She should never habe left the child in the car unattended. Ultimately any way you look at it the death of the child is her fault.

Don't know if it's true or not but read in another comment section that the babysitter had fallen asleep. Never thought of this (I don't have kids) but you're right. Only allow someone to watch your child at your home. At least you and the child are aware of the surroundings. You hear about it more than you'd think. There was a nurse in my state many years ago who normally had her Mother, the child's grandma, pick up her child and take her to daycare. One day the grandma was not able to take the child to daycare but was to pick her up that evening. The mother took the child and then forgot to take her to the daycare, went straight to work, like usual, and worked all day until her Mother called and said she was at the daycare and where was the child. Then the nurse remembered. I don't think they punished her. I think what you did to your child would be punishment enough. How could you ever get over doing that and forgetting about the child. How could your husband ever understand how you did that. I expect you would need therapy forever. So sad.

As a parent of a child, 30 year old, I also don't believe 5 hours. You forget something important, maybe for 5 minutes. Especially a child you are caring for?
It is absolutely hard to “believe” that she “forgot” for 5 hours.. She MAY have went to sleep or something! Bcuz that’s also 5hours that she neglected to give ANY sh!ts about “babysitting”at all!? So sad (I just heard mom talking about being worried about their puppy being bf OUT in the HEAT!? ) This is sad..and HORRIFICALLY terrifying..
Exactly, and you don't SUDDENLY forget you are at work! And everyone tends to pay more attention to other ppls kids then their own that are there 24/7. She would be paying more attention because she's at work.

Obviously she didn't mean to kill the child but she had been told about leaving the baby sleep in her car by her husband, she was texting the mother of the child during the morning ... it don't add up.. I'm guessing she left that baby sleep in the car out of convenience, probably not wanting to keep telling the woman of the 3 kids that she was looking after the baby again while supposedly looking after her kids. Heartbreaking... r.i.p little one
5 hours? That’s not “forgetting” that’s not giving a crap

Exactly! And why refuse a drug test unless you’re under the influence of something you aren’t prescribed??
💯 I read that she was struggling with back or hip pain on that day. Makes me wonder…
Well she did reportedly refuse a drug test.🤔
My first thought she was high or drunk
My guess is she was on opioids for the pain and still couldn't sleep the night before bc of the pain. She prob took another dose that morning so she could function but ended up falling asleep from the perfect storm of sleep deprivation and opioids. That's enough for a 5 hour nap
This woman will punish herself for the rest of her life just devastating for all so sad.
She didn't forget the baby at first. She was hiding the fact that she was keeping Baby Ariyah from the friend. As the morning went on, she forgot about the baby while babysitting 3 kids.
But Paschal said it was an accepted practice for the sitter to also watch Aryia. I don't think this was the reason.
I feel terrible for everyone affected by this, including the defendant, as a parent I couldn’t even fathom the pain 😔
Why do u feel sorry for the sitter?
I agree. A tragedy all around. Rhonda will never forgive herself. I'm sure she'd give anything to go back in time. So heartbreaking.
@Cat-qo3ht u don't go back in time WITH the knowledge , u go back blank so ur definitely gonna do it again
What makes me irritated and really makes this whole thing questionable is the fact that she text the baby’s mom AFTER she got to the house. If you’re texting the baby’s mom, wouldn’t that trigger a lightbulb?? Like you’ve had the baby for nearly an hour, text her mom and STILL did not realize you “forgot” her in the car????? I have a hard time believing this and I do not sympathize with the babysitter. Manslaughter doesn’t seem to be enough.
Constant prayers SURROUNDING ALL💕🙏

I think it was because she also had the other three in her care. Just a thought. So sad.

Actually that just happened to me. I picked up my dog from a kennel after a trip. I should note I could see the car at all times but my dog was laying down on the back seat. Fortunately as I was about to put the key in the door I remembered the dog amd ran back to get him. So sad.
