The Roland SH-101 Synthesizer from the year 1981 is a classic monophonic analog synth. Here can you find the full SH-101 playlist with single sound demos and one synth demo tracks. Enjoy. The SH-101 playlist ----> ua-cam.com/play/PLe08Lbpy8pPZ1-LlZGmPafyvdArYOJyFB.html
This the best clip I saw until now op You Tube!! I knew the SH-101 from name and sight since the 80s and I am surprised it has such HUGE FANTASTIC SOUNDS!! Together with the ARP ODYSSEY and the CRUMAR SPIRIT my favourite synth for sequencing.
I love the innovative idea you use pressing the key transpose key down, and only pressing a note key to transpose the sequencer pattern. The SH101 sounds awesome!
BALLAN PARKWAY £35, what were you thinking? I sold one for £100 and thought that was bad. Anyway if I could find one for £300 it would be a deal but they are twice that. I think they are a bit overhyped at that price.
I really enjoy your channel because the video-demos are very good and complete, we can appreciate the fully capabilities of each synthesizer, and sometimes I feel very sad to see so many beautiful machines that I want and I can not have! lol! one of my TOP 5 favorite Synth is Roland JUNO-106, I found one in perfect condition, I am raising money to buy it! excellent work my friend, congratulations, keep it up, long live analog! greetings from Argentina! thanks/danke!
Coo. I used to have one of these - mine was red as well. The sequencer was great fun - it could do a wicked Voodoo Ray imitation - but without effects it has a very monotonous sound. In the end I a/b-ed it with a software synth and decided to sell the SH-101; it looks fantastic but it's very, very limited.
I had one of these (grey with the mod grip) back in the mid 80's. It was my first synth in high school. My favorite feature (or glitch if they don't all respond like mine did) was to double up on the pitch bend for some DEEP dive bomb sounds. The pitch mod on the grip would extend the range of the main unit lever if used at the same time. Add some delay and/or distortion to an arpeggio or sequence and I could get some sounds that had some metal guitarists turning their heads. :-)
@retrosound72 unfortunately it was sold, anyway... reading I realized that I prefer Juno 60 more than 106, has no midi, but is 100% analog, the Juno 106 has "some things" controlled by internal software, the Juno 60 is the most interesting in the Juno series right? thanks a lot! your channel is so great!
Hello... to the bloke who bought my 101 off me before I went to Israel in 1990 for fifty quid, could you please please pleeeeeeeease.... let me know you had fun with it :) you lucky sod... fifty quid... before i sold it the pleasure of getting absolutely rumpole'd on holy-herb and with the aid of a tape-space-echo and a flanger I would tweet myself inside out... now this could be a good mission for me to dig out any old recordings I have from 1989... hmmm shitting christ I'm gettin the fizz...
Was muss man dabei oder allgemein beachten?

Shame we didn't get more than 5 mins for the synthesizer that made The Prodigy & Squarepusher! Both have their own sound.

Oh, how i miss horizontally mounted modulation wheels on todays machines.
It makes all the difference on how i perform in a live-playing situation.

Sounds terrific! How is the side handgrip used, btw?
You can use the slider to pitch up and down and there's a button on the edge of it to add vibrato

+RetroSound Okay, danke. Weiß dann Bescheid. ^_^
Is this synthesizer monophonic?
Nice, nice, nice.....
What kind of amp are you using in this video?
this synth reminds me TRANS-X team. I have substitute SH-101 SH01 GAIA ;-)
5*****
Same here but I got £100! Don't worry you can buy D16 Lush which sounds so close.
At 2.44 wicked!
i need one to be honest the sound is so clean
drum and base workhorse!!
over a grand now, i'll bet they will end somewhere between 3000€-4000€ within a decade
what is that "wing" on the left side of the synth ?
The mod grip. With that the SH-101 could be used as a keytar.
DELICIOUS!
This thing sounds mean. Let me know what you think of this my upload. I like to make all my sounds too.
monophonic?
+Chris Nova777 yes
I always thought of it as a toy. Big Surprise.
fetter sound!
As good as a 303
Sounds like vsauce's main theme tune
