  • In this easy cooking video, I bake a salmon fillet, in a cast iron skillet, in my toaster oven. I seasoned the salmon with The Rub from the J Christopher Co. The Rub contains Sumac which is new to me. The cooking time is about 10 minutes in a 450 degree F oven, or until the salmon is flaky. Subscribe here for new videos. / @tostinmaneasycooking

Thank you for listing the time and temp in the video description, getting to the point, and also showing what the flaking looks like. Too often when I just need time and temp, other UA-camrs don't put the info in the description and just go on for 20 minutes about a bunch of other stuff that (while possibly neat) doesn't affect the cooking before quickly whispering the time and temp and then not pointing out what signs to look for in the finished product.

Oh man you lookin good lost a lot of weight! I've always checked out ur videos since I live in a small NYC apt without a kitchen. You've really helped me out alot. You are a really down to earth youtuber. Just having fun teaching us and learning with us at the same time. Don't ever let the haters get you down! This is what youtube is all about!

I had a piece of salmon and now wanted to cook it but didn’t know in a toaster oven. You were the first video I chose. And I just happen to have a small cast iron skillet. Thanks!

I don't understand why down votes are like 1/3. Decent video, everything is explained well. Doesn't make sense. Thanks TinMan for your vids and easy explanations!

Sumac isn’t just indigenous to the Middle East. It can be found in abundance in Canada and the USA. Most people here don’t think of eating it.

Jim, you mentioned "fruity" in your last use of the sumac and now my curiosity is up. I really ought to get J Christopher's rub. It sounds really tasty! Your new toaster oven performed great on the salmon! You used good camera angles and good editing!

Lol salmon if farmed in USA is not healthy unless its Wild Caught Sockeye. But you are correct that is the 'whitest' salmon flesh I have ever seen in my life.

Great! Simple and easy. Salmon is naturally delicious so a recipe that is simple with the fewest ingredients is best. Thanks.
