Oh my golly! The Osmond Brothers rockin out like there's no tomorrow...love it! This song is on The Plan cd (album ?), and, in my opinion, all the songs on The Plan are just as awesome! Extra bonuses...Jay taking the lead and giving us a prime example why he was voted one of the top 10 drummers in the 70s! I could listen to him sing and drum all day (and im 73, not some young teenager). Thanks for sharing this video!
Loved the Osmonds since the 70's. Jay was always my fave. They're all so talented. Not to take anything away from Donny, but Merrill and Jay were my favorites on lead. So fun revisiting these songs. The Osmonds could rock!
This is very reminiscent of Grand Funk Railroad. They truly had some amazing songs. I've been discovering them as of late (2022) and I am amazed with my findings. I always thought of the Osmonds just "Donny and Marie". You know, just white bread family that sang plain songs that only conservative Mormons would like. But after stumbling first with One Bad Apple, Down the Lazy River, and my favorite song of theirs, Crazy Horses, I have to take off my hat to them. They truly were amazing.
Totally. I was big time into the Osmond's in the 70's. Think I was about 9 when my mum bought me the let me in single. It was ok. I flipped the 45 over and was blown away by this b side.
Loved the Osmonds since the 70's and Jay was always my favorite. Underrated by many but boy could they rock it out! This is the side of them that I really liked.
This Song should have been a #1 hit!! It also should along with several other hits get them in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame!! Come on powers that be heat us & make it happen. 🐶❤️
How is it that the Osmonds were never in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but the Jackson’s were put in there twice and never sang rock? It’s all rigged.
From "The Plan" album, one of their best yet. Such an underrated album, I think because of it's religious message, however in today's world, a very much needed message.
Because the hard rock establishment that makes up TRARHOF sees them as squeaky clean bubblegummers, that's why! I just wish that someone would play them this song and THEN see if they still brush them off!!! I sent this UA-camr a copy of their Crazy Horses album (one you should check out). Here's what he had to say about it: ua-cam.com/video/LqMCqip016E/v-deo.htmlsi=T_sPdGv5wGkIRQyw
The Osmonds awesome amazing performers and singers Thank you gentlemen for the awesome memories I will always cherish them for the rest of my life 😊😊😢😢❤❤
I was 5 in 1972, and all I listened to was my older sister's Osmond albums. For me it was closest thing to hard rock I knew...until I heard Calling Dr. Love by Kiss in 1976. But I still love these songs. Phase Iii, Crazy Horses and The Plan are albums I still listen to...along with Megadeth. Go figure. The Osmonds were very underrated and a band I will always cherish.
I've loved the Osmonds since I was 6 years old and I'll be 60 this summer. Now i listens to this song while riding my exercise bike in virtual reality, anywhere in the world that has google maps. It's perfect for it, lol.
Wayne is playing on a Gibson custom les paul when they went for about 750 bucks in '72 and even cheaper when you bought a used one. Now used has become vintage with a whole new market. These go for 5,000.00 and up now new.
I played The Plan to oblivion, I had to buy two more copies 🤣 I STILL know every word to every song on it. This track absolutely rocks, one of my Ossie faves. God, I feel like I'm 14 again. 😭😭
In Australia this was the A Side and the first time I heard it I loved it even before the song had finished. Such an underrated song and really should receive much more attention than it has. It's only in the last year I have discovered the Osmonds with this and Crazy Horses. I bought Yo Yo because I was curious about a song with that title. I then heard Crazy Horses and couldn't believe my ears. It was a great rocking tune. Unfortunately these days people align the Osmonds with that drippy Puppy Love stuff and forget they could rock out with songs like this.
I've been to hundreds of concerts during my 64 yesrs, seeing everyone from Willie Nelson and Loretta Lynn to Van Halen, KISS, Springsteen, and everyone in between, yet I don't think I've seen anyone who truly loved performing more thann Wayne!
Thanks so much for posting this! I only found your channel tonight, when searching for Your Leaving Was the Last Thing On My Mind...and that was a beautiful surprise too😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I remember collecting my $3 allowance, and I went to buy The Plan at the PX in Mannheim, Germany. I loved that album. My favorite songs were I Believe, Crazy Horses, Let Me In.... As a group lead, I preferred Merrill; his voice was so different but balanced. And of course Donny; I had all his albums. When we returned to the USA in the mid-70s, my cousin took me to one of their concerts in Springfield, Illinois. That was the first time I had been to a concert. My dad even said then that they were one of the best. He said though that one thing against them in the industry view was that they are Mormons. I asked him what that? Never mind. But still, I like their music.
Merrill is an excellent singer…but I find myself preferring Jay's lead vocals, personally. Mind you, 36 hours ago, all I knew of them was "One Bad Apple" and "Puppy Love" (and that Donny & Marie theme tune), so all subject to change. I mean, I'm still reeling from hearing "Crazy Horses"…
I,ll give them 💳💳💳 the Osmonds are very talented they can play their own instruments ✍️✍️✍️ their own songs and can sing I always heard that they wanted to do more 🪨 and 🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐 it,s too bad that they never got the chance to because they couldn't,t shake their bubblegum pop image they,re really very good
The Elvis suits were their brand. But if they had performed rock music in jeans and tshirts it may have helped them break away from the former Osmond perception.
Jay and Merrill split vocals on Crazy Horses but seems they said hard rock song... 👉Jay! Grew up with them and don't really remember them getting much air on radio after Lazy River and the ones they did on their variety show, I watched occasionally. ???
According to the Osmond's, probably heaven. They have exceptional audio equipment. This song to me was always leagues above let me in and I got the single in the 70s.
Did you notice something to say don't say that words Jay made you God made you Jay I love you baby 🤱 your mom have you baby guys 🇷🇴 you have kids all over you guys rock roll song please don't make them go away from the bottom
The year is wrong here. This song was part of The Plan album, which came out in 1973, not 1972. This performance is from 1973, and possibly early 1974, even. Regardless, this shows decidedly that The Osmonds deserved much more respect as a band than they received then or since. They never got their due from the (overall) rock community. And that is nothing short of a travesty!!!
Jay is KILLING it on the drums!
Always does!

Another great song by the Osmond Brothers. They are truly amazing. Love this 😅❤
ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME...NOW. 👍
This is very reminiscent of Grand Funk Railroad. They truly had some amazing songs. I've been discovering them as of late (2022) and I am amazed with my findings. Yeah I can hear Grand Funk!
Keep enjoying! I've loved them since I was 5. Still do.
Been a fan all my life.
I can hear KISS doing this tune. Of course it precedes Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley’s band by a year
@@fredmillward4372i was 9 in 1972. 🙂 Had my first single Crazy Horses then. And 4 more after that.
A Rocking song by the Osmonds. Should've been a big hit single. Absolute great song.
I'm surprised no one has covered it - Green Day, Oasis. Someone like that.
Totally. I was big time into the Osmond's in the 70's. Think I was about 9 when my mum bought me the let me in single. It was ok. I flipped the 45 over and was blown away by this b side.
BINGO!! 😊
another great Osmond song with Jay singing lead Love it
Loved the Osmonds since the 70's and Jay was always my favorite. Underrated by many but boy could they rock it out! This is the side of them that I really liked.
I totally agree with you@@viking22
He shares the lead with Merrill on this
Wayne is killing it on guitar! I reckon Wayne and Jay were the rockers of the band. They should have done more like this. Awesome!
Respectfully remember Merrill sang lead on most of the brothers big hits
great
Hold Her Tight was the best ROCK style song they ever did. Never got the air time or recognition it deserved.
This Song should have been a #1 hit!! It also should along with several other hits get them in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame!! Come on powers that be heat us & make it happen. 🐶❤️
Loved it when Jay got to sing lead!! He was such a hottie but then they all were. ❤️🎤🎸💙🎤🎹💜🎤🥁💚🎤🎼🧡🎷🎤🖤🎸🎶🩷🎤🎵😊🎤🎸🎷👍🏼🎶

@@billkeithchannel Me too. I always preferred it to the A side.
Agree.
That could've been Great!
Jay is awesome on the drums
Best drum performance ever by Jay!
How are these legends not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
Because the hard rock establishment that makes up TRARHOF sees them as squeaky clean bubblegummers, that's why!

They are super amazing!
As fun as "Down By the Lazy River", and " Crazy Horses"!

"The Plan" - суперальбом, настоящий шедевр.
Love
Обалденная группа 70-х, оставляют только позитив в душе своей музыкой, их можно слушать всегда, при любом настроении, что можно не с любой музыкой!..
How do I still remember the words to this song?😊
Love it!
Love this track. Great video. 🤗🎤🎸🎶
Rockin! 😍
UNA DE LAS MEJORES MUESTRAS DE SU CALIDAD MUSICAL.
Never ran with less. Sure glad I can write a sincere letter ^^
LOVE IT!💖👍🎶🙏
That beautiful FAT chord on "anywhere"!
I have `The Plan` in my vinyl collection, but didn`t realise until now that Jay sang lead vocal.
Thanks so much for posting this! I only found your channel tonight, when searching for Your Leaving Was the Last Thing On My Mind...and that was a beautiful surprise too😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
How is this 56 year's old 😳😳😳😳😱😱
I love Jay!
Jay had a great voice similar to Merrills sound
Hardly surprising seeing they were brothers
That's definitely Merrill singing too. They shared the lead

Ah qué hermosos recuerdos, pero siempre pensé que ésta canción la cantaba Merrill, me equivoqué, era Jay mi Osmond favorito.😅
The Elvis suits were their brand. But if they had performed rock music in jeans and tshirts it may have helped them break away from the former Osmond perception.

Studio version but still cool.
No......crasy horse is my favorite Thanks
Корнелюк Игорь не просто так зазвучал, чувствуется влияние Осмондов!..
Song was released in 1973? Donnie looks much older than 14/15 here. Underrated band. Too wholesome?
Where was this performed?
According to the Osmond's, probably heaven. They have exceptional audio equipment. This song to me was always leagues above let me in and I got the single in the 70s.
L' âme des Osmonds
“I love the Osmonds.” That’s my translation. (Different from Google’s)
These guys could bring the rock and roll, Led Zeppelin Black Sabbath were fans of the Osmonds, that's right.
Did you notice something to say don't say that words Jay made you God made you Jay I love you baby 🤱 your mom have you baby guys 🇷🇴 you have kids all over you guys rock roll song please don't make them go away from the bottom
The horn section should go. Marshall stacks? Les Paul custom? Cool!
I think this was the B side to let me in if I’m not mistaken
Yès it was b side to let me in
This is the stuff that The Osmonds wanted to do all along but the money machine said nope.
Thank You Friend
Isn't this 73
indeed it is
Ez nem volt rajta a Best of Osmonds CD emen. Itt a UA-cam-on fedeztem fel. A Going home meg ennel is jobb szam. Az es a Crazy horses is rajta vannak.
If only they had stuck with their Grand Funk/Deep Purple type sound. Sigh.
Who’s playing the cowbell ?
MORE COWBELL!!!
and who's playing the piano ? And why does the sound of the snare drum roll at the beginning stops while he's still playing ?
Spoiler : they're miming
@@robroufla That would be Donny on the keyboard!
@@claudettemoran295 in those days you could not get a piano sound from an organ. They're miming
Obviously it’s playback. In 90% of the times the bands never played live.
