    The throttle cable broke on my 2020 iron 883 and left me stranded. Thank God for the warranty!! Harley came and picked up myself and the bike, got me home and fixed my bike under warranty. So things happen. A throttle cable rarely ever breaks but mine did (under warranty)👍

    I wanted to buy a used from Harley but each one I had liked got sold. Ended up seeing a bike pop up on market place. It was a 2014 ultra limited decked out with full rineheart exhaust and intake plus every light changed out to custom dynamics. Great setup and only 5100 miles. What was even better was the price, at 13k I couldn’t beat it. Got everything I wanted including the color

    I like the idea of that 2 year warranty. That piece of mind is priceless. The used prices vs the new is not that different. Especially if you are only looking at a 2 year difference. These are great videos, and I love the insight.

    Great Video! I believe it comes down to a person's financial situation and possibly wanting to test out different bikes before shelling out a bunch of money. I was lucky enough to have a couple of friends who let me take out different bikes from a GROM to a ZX14. I was able to take a couple of Harleys out for a rip and fell in love. I bought a new Low Rider S which my bank account allowed haha. I agree on wanting a blank canvas and especially wanting to know what the bike has gone through

    I watched this video needing to find out if buying a new touring bike any model with a M8 107 ( thats what I decided is best for my 2nd HD )
    Do I have to ask if the oil pump has improved from previous problems in the beginning (2017 )
    Additionally do I have to want it to be air cooled only or twin cooled
    Are there any other discussion I should know to bring up.
    I have my first bike 2008 dyna super glide custom that I love and will keep it. I now want a touring model I Like Rd., King Street glide with 107. If the road glide comes in that engine then I like that also. I bought my bike used. 2018 model I bought in 2019. I believe it was a demo bike. Only had 700 miles on and still blank canvass from the factory. Purchased the extended warranty and enjoyed ever since. The only thing I would add to what your saying is to ask where the bike came from (ex, trade in, another dealer, etc). I think you used comments about used bikes was spot on. I say always get the entended warranty especially with used bikes

    Cool good video man. One thing I always wondered on these used bikes that have aftermarket parts. Does it make that bike more valuable? for example I've heard people say why do you pay for the aftermarket parts twice. Twice being the second time it's sold. I bought a used Sportster low miles 3750 miles that already had pipes backrest luggage rack windshield air cleaner engine guard it was basically set up exactly how I wanted it so with all those extra parts does that increase the price or would that increase the price of the bike? When I tell people what I paid for it which was less than what they were asking they look at me like I'm crazy because it's a quote unquote sportster but like I said it spoke to me when I saw it on the floor and it was set up exactly how I would like Thanks man. By the way I'm on the bike 6 years now and love it. Definitely looking hard at the Pan ams and the Fat bobs now lol

    Good content, good advice- nice job.
    Given current market conditions at the moment, I'm not sure buying a one or two year old used bike makes a lot of financial sense, at least in my neck of the woods. Dealer prices are almost the same as a brand new bike with a full warranty and that's figuring in the surcharge (first $400 and now $900) on a new bike. I think I understand why- lack of new inventory caused dealers to pay top dollar for used bikes so they'd have something to sell; they've got to recoup that investment and make a profit. Not sure how it's all going to play out long term other than expecting some hefty increases in H-D's 2022 suggested MSRP's when that surcharge plus any additional inflation is figured into the base prices. I don't blame Harley, everyone is in the same boat especially if you manufacture or build things. When a 2x4 costs almost $7 ... strange times we live in.

    Couldn’t afford to get started with a new Harley. But I got the model I wanted with low miles for the year, and the previous owner had similar taste and spent a good amount of money on smart things that I would have done. Plus, I got the proof on paper that they had everything done at the right time and at a Harley service department. Then, since it was affordable, I just did a couple of things to complete the extras, so I was fortunate to find a good one and the history and add ons were great. If you don’t have the means to buy a brand new street glide, but you shop around and take the time, you can have a good used bike experience. It’s better than sitting at home!

      Same. I couldn’t justify pulling the trigger on a new street glide but found a used 2017 special for about $8,000 less than new and the previous owner had done some nice mods at a Harley service department. If you’re willing to shop around and wait a couple weeks there are some fantastic deals on used Harley’s and more often than not they hold their value.

    Great video! Question--if I’m looking for a used bike, what reassures me that the sales dept didn’t cheat any repairs for the used bike that is to be put on the showroom. Example, if 10 issues were found by the service dept and sales dept only wanted to fix 8, where’s does the integrity lay?

    • @throttleblip9854
      @throttleblip9854  2 роки тому +3

      It should lay in the name of the dealership. Skimping on what would have to be a small repair (as most people would notice major undone repairs) wouldn't make much sense for a dealership. The things I've seen skimped on were never really a huge deal, say grips that were worn but still usable. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Definitely take the bike for a test ride before buying and depending on how much you know about bikes, maybe bring a friend to help you check it out.

    When I was a dealer tech I learned one big and important lesson. New cars and trucks WILL come in for warranty work at least once in their lifetime. These are assembled quickly and things get missed or a part (which is also assembled quickly on a line) will need attention. That is what the warranty is for. To fix everything and make it good. I imagine bikes are much the same.

Especially in these crazy times. iv seen used bikes the same price as new. also, warranty is definitely a plus. my 2020 softail standard charging system took a shit at 3000 miles, and turned out to be the regulator. my bike was in the shop for a month, and 5 days due to part being on backorder. if the deal is to good, buy used, but i highly recommend new.
