Can you include the fan specifications like size 120-240, 3 pin or 4pin, amps and volts thanks

I would always choose a fan with good static pressure.
Noctua themselves collaborated on a PSU with Seasonic, and rather than their own 140 mm fan, they went with their high-pressure 120 mm, because PSUs have a lot of back-pressure.

That's fair and a good consideration, thanks. My only rationale for keeping it in was positive results after testing it under load. Pretty far from the kind of work they do. That Seasonic PSU looks pretty cool

will a dc 0.22a/12v work with a psu has a default fan of dc 0.58a/12v? Thanks

I'm sure it would work. One thing to consider is what kind of power supply are you using and will your use case be affected by a fan with slightly lower amperage (possibly cooling a little bit less)? As always, please be careful opening up a power supply and make sure you have given enough time for capacitors to drain. Only do this if you are experienced or confident that you are able to avoid contact with large capacitors.

@@HaisteComputerRepair It is a Rm1000e 2022 model that I never used. Im selling it but seems nobody interest in buying. So I either buy another PSU from different brand or replace the fan inside it. The model has tons of reports on noise due to the cheap fan in it. Im thinking about using bequiet silent wings 4 to replace the fan inside.

@@kvu236Have you tried just turning on the power supply to see how it sounds? You can jump the 24 pin connecter with something like a paper clip. Then you can see how loud the fan might be. Check out this guide: www.silverstonetek.com/upload/downloads/QA/PSU/PSU-Paper%20Clip-EN.pdf

Yes - it's only a problem if the replacement fan requires MORE current than the outgoing one; if your new fan is rated for less, it will use less.
(Components "decide" their own current draw - if you plug a 0.22 A fan into a PSU that's _capable_ of giving a fan 0.58 A, it will still only draw 0.22 A.)

@@HaisteComputerRepair Were you able to keep this PSU alive with this fan replacement? Others have wrote that the voltage may be too low to turn on the fan. My PSU has started chirping and it uses the same 2 pin fan as the one in the video however the replacement fan is a 4 pin noctua fan.

No matter how quite or loud your fan is you will always still hear it

Noctua fans are near silent. They are always an improvement over stock fans

It really depends how close you are to the fan

That is true, however the difference is remarkable with Noctua

Why put fan that cost ½ the price in the psu? Don't recommend opening power supply's to people.

It was a used case fan I recycled into the case. Otherwise, Noctua fans like this one are not super expensive. Personal choice, you could of course use a cheaper fan. I put it in for the airflow and low noise. As for "recommending," fair enough, I get what you're saying and how I may be portrayed in this video. This is simply how I did it and some talk on what to watch out for. I'll think about making the video demonstrating how to properly discharge excess voltage, perhaps that is the ethical thing to do. Thanks. Would you like to add some personal advice or experience that would lend to your comment?

Because he can? Because some other people might want to do something similar and have a video that showcases how to do so? For quiet operation? 😅

Cause you can make your case fans quiet af but if your psu is humming away it was all for nothing. Probs a dangerous upgrade, maybe needs more caution. But I think the stickers on the PSU should make people think twice....
