I bought a ticket for the upcoming show solely because of this album. I have heard this song over ten times and almost choke up every time I hear it.
If they include a lot of visuals to the show it might be pretty cool. Just doesn’t seem very musically exciting. More like a jam band.

I'll start off by saying that Life is But a Dream actually is a concept album meant to convey Life/Death & the in between. I understand why people don't necessarily "love" the new record, but it really isn't that bad. A lot of what I hear in terms of negative is that it "doesn't sound like their old stuff," which is just flat out unfair to look at the album that way. The album really isn't comparable to anything else they've put out. Somehow even more out there than something like the Self-Titled or The Stage. You definitely need to just listen to the album in one sitting all the way through before you fully realize what the album is trying to do. It really is a great experience in my opinion, and I really love that the band is experimenting with some of the most batshit crazy music I've heard from them
the 2 main problems are m shadows sounds like he is out of breath a lot of the time and some of the songs are drawn out too long with some boring lyrics to pair with
This album takes you through the meaning of life, what is existence, the growth of artificial intelligence and the consequences of it, the corporate greed plaguing the world which is resulting in rapid expansion and is destroying the environment. Many deep meanings to look into only if you're interested enough

This is one of the biggest concept albums ever..it's concept is what it makes it so powerful! Also this album is PHENOMENAL! You guys are used to more shallow music, less challenging..this album is pure art galore and just for that fact it takes me on a journey so easily..
And that is totally fine, to each their own
What exactly is the concept

The first song starts with suicide and theoughout the album the soul is traveling through different parts of humanity, himself, going through the struggles of when he was alive and the pointless stupidity of it all, acchieving ego death and finally in the end it is just peace..soul is gone back, you have returned to what you once where..cosmic dust. You have returned to being the universe, you are no longer human, the ego is gone.. The song before the last one, "Death" is also about suicide. Kind of making a full circle to doing the final act (suicide) once again as though we were going through the journey inbetween in our heads, our soul didn't leave our body yet, it was us that were contenplating life and death and everything around it before actually leaving one final note, Adieu. We are no longer alive.
I might've explained it poorly, or might not totally got the point right, but it is definetly something along those lines at least from what I got from it.
(Also about the first song "Game Over" all the spuratic crazy parts and fast vocals where he is saying words in a sequence almost, that is supposed to represent literally everyrhing going through a person's head before taking their own life..life flashes before your eyes)

Absolutely phenomenal song. It’s a love song, in such a beautiful frequency. You seem to not understand or resonate with the album concept. Maybe you just don’t fully see the beauty in the universe or resonate with the theme “cosmic” in general.
For me, this so beautifully represents synchronicity, love, life, spirituality, and the human journey.

They've openly stated what their intentions were for this album. While it's not a concept album, it is a thematic one. The GOD trilogy is a conceptual package. But, the entire album has themes that intertwine. They want it to be listened to as a package

Guys do a little research. It's all over the Internet that this IS a concept album dealing with existentialism.
Look past the artist. The song itself is a masterpiece. The term Avant-Garde is coming up more and more in conversations with coworkers about this album.
Been a die hard fan since 2010, it’s a phenomenal album. It’s insane the creativity they come up with, the entire album is a journey through life.
You need to get out of your comfort zone, to appreciate the real intention of the music
Btw, I'm a metalhead myself but can understand the feelings behind this whole album
It is definitely an album you must listen to in it's entirety in order to fully appreciate all the songs. I only found love for some or the songs in it after multiple listenings, so it's worth giving a second chance, even to the ones you really didn't like.
As a die hard Metallica fan (51 shirts, 4 concerts), this song alone is better than anything St anger related. I might like St anger more, but this is still objectively better

The guy on white shirt top left the smartest one of the squad, the rest kinda hating just bc they don’t get the song properly. It’s not an album or a song to be listened to many times on daily basis like their previous albums (before the stage) but their idea is to create something to take you on a journey and adding good concepts and thematic to their songs. True meanings, not just sound alone.

Maybe talk less and listen to the lyrics more. 3 of you hating on it completely without truly listening. You have a stance on what music is to you in your head and shit on everything else that isnt. Learn to appreciate music in all its forms in all genre's. You will be glad for it. Avenged created a masterpiece with this album some of them have mainstream appeal and some have experimental sounds which is something they have always done. Not all of them are hits but they invoke thought and that is a step in the right direction and always will be.
Listen this album is good the fact they took 7 years to put out a new album going in a new direction means they wanted to do it right and they did. They've got parts of classic Avenged but it mostly new stuff and personally i think its a solid album.

I tell who wants to see these songs payed live... me. I would gladly pay my retirement bonus to see these songs played live at their concert. This album is a masterpiece. It is different from any other music album ever created, it is absolutely unique and sublime. The guitar solo in this song is something never achieved by anybody ever, in metters of technique, intensity, armony, feeelings and melody. If you don't understand the greatness of this song and of the entire album, maybe you shouldn't make review videos at all because you are not credible

By far the best album of A7X. Mature, dense, multi-faceted. They are too old and talented to repeat over and over themselves with their teenage influences (although there´s still some thrash, heavy and hard rock vibe sometimes). Less Guns and ´Tallica, more Mike Patton and Frank Zappa. Thumbs UP!

This song is my most favorite one off of this album. But it definitely is one that needs to be listened fully to enjoy it and get it all. I just don't enjoy the songs We Love You and G. All the others are better than those. Better this is my most favorite by far.

Hey guys love the channel and your authentic reactions. I think you guys are dead in with this album. There are small snippets of genius in each song but they are all over the place. The cut & paste analogy is spot on and it’s hard to get into a flow. I personally think Nobody is the better of the 3 songs in my opinion.
Lastly, since you guys dig Metallica, I wanted to know your thoughts on my brother band BREED. They are an up and coming hard rock/metal band and their sound is constantly being compared to Metallica. Not asking for a reaction video, just your thoughts. Might be cool to review unsigned bands as well. 🤘🏽

Man I hate to say to probably a bunch of great guys... But ya'll are too close minded for this masterpiece of a concept album. I would definitely go to this show are you kidding? I wish u guys were more involved in the lyrics, music style of complication and message. But nope.. Just a bunch of guys who should be reacting to bands like Warrant, White snake and Slaughter lol. Give it another listen. It’s not the typical avenged music and I think if you throw out that “metal” expectation that you had for this and open up a little more to different types of music, you’ll be able to enjoy it. It’s really a great album
No way in hell could you convince me in January that one of my fave albums of the year so far would be Avenged Sevenfold. Pretty much to this album, I could take it leave them. Dave is right, you have to listen to the album as a whole to appreciate it more .
