The idea of being nobody is truly liberating. It requires a level of acceptance that takes work to achieve, but it is truly worth it. I'm 48 years old and have been a very self centered/body focused/reality is only what I can see and touch kind of person for most of my life. I've been alone for quite a while now and through much physical and mental practice I've really learned that I am certainly not this body I inhabit, nor am I in essence spiritually what the body imposes on me via its chemical functions. There can't be an ego without a body, but there is a spirit without a body. Remembering that I am a spirit allows me to overcome the chemical effects of my body's physiology as it pertains to my mental state. The result is contentedness versus happiness. The former is firm and long-lasting while the latter is fleeting. Being nobody is not being nothing, it's being aligned with the spirit and not the body. Literally, no body.
