Cute Baby Seal Won't leave His Rescuers!

- Two more seal rescues at Pelican Point, Namibia, by Antoine and Naude from Ocean Conservation Namibia (OCN):
Seal 1 had a thin piece of nylon string wrapped around it's neck. It caused a deep painful cut. The salt water will help with the healing process, the cut looked clean and not infected. We are very sure he will make a full recovery.
Seal 2 was a small male baby seal caught in something similar to cling wrap or shrink wrap. It had not cut into his skin yet, we found him on time before he would get hurt any further. He was caught with our custom build seal catching net, and he seemed to like it a lot, he did not make any attempt at all to get out! Naude and Antoine even helped him to get both his flippers out, and gave him a little push from behind, but he was so chilled, he could not be bothered.
Eventually he decided to join her friends, and he ran back to the colony.
Most of our rescues are very serious and difficult to deal with, we appreciate it when we have a cute and uncomplicated rescue like this one in between. 🦭

@@bermy2225 heck yeah , I wasn't aware of the nerf and I'm pretty used to darryl , I tried catching up to my enemies by rolling over the water in showdown , got bounced back and was like : " Wtf " .
Seals only have two modes:
PANIK Modes
And
“You touch me you now take care of me” modes

And “Sitting on the beach doing nothing but fighting with eachother” mode
LOL TRUE
And M O N C H mode
And the mode where they just *s c r e m* at each other.

Very ugly and nasty to see wound. Do you believe there's other way cutting it? I admire these guys 1st of all on how they sopotted the crap around seals neck! And yea, they pulled it out completely, no scraps left inside. To me, nicely done!

The worst part is it's not people failing to throw trash away, it's big trash companies dumping it in the wrong places
Most of that plastic trash that end up in the oceans come from south asian countries such as India or Indonesia. You can go green all you want in the west and keep self blaming but even if western countries banned all plastics overnight it wouldn"t change anything because of all the poor overpopulated underdevelopped countries that have no green legislations or structures to handle the trash
I just love the way the seals react to Antoine’s voice when he speaks to them. They instantly relax when he says “hello puppy” and “awe I know puppy it hurts”. Well done guys for the amazing work you do ☺️💜

Imagine being a seal who has only known that being captured basically meant that your life was over. Then one day, a group of weird looking creatures capture you. You'd think: this is it, this is how I die, but then these creatures just remove a something than has been causing you pain before allowing you to leave. Its not very hard to see why it stayed

There are rumors amongst the seals of creatures that look and seem like monsters, but are truly angels. If you are lucky enough, the angels grab and bag you. They hold your nose and body down. It’s so scary and it hurts, sometimes a lot, and we cry and struggle to break free. Eventually we do break free and soon realize we can breathe and swallow. By then the angels are gone. Some pups never see the monsters, only the angels and they hang around for a bit with their new friends.
Imagine getting jumped by a gang on your walk home but they bandage any injuries you’ve ever gotten, remove all blemishes from your body, give you a massage, and make sure you get home safely.
And....then....after U get home.....U try 2 tell your friends & family that U were abducted by aliens........(smiles).........they say >>>> "Sure U were....un huh....Sure U were".

Often ive found saying something is "bad for the environment" comes across as nebulous and undefined. for some people, it doesnt click that that means it is actively causing harm and even death to countless animals. Jesus Christ, the cut on that seal was severe. Crazy how such a thin piece of plastic could do that much damage.
It's a matter of tensile strength and growing around it I guess. A simple 3 millimeter string and a tight knot can cut down a tree given enough time
He probably had it on for a LONG time, so the plastic would rub on him constantly :[ im also surprised as to how clean the wound was :u. But in all its quite sad how poor animals like these suffer from plastics thrown in the ocean by humans themselves

When i was a little girl, the lovely shape of a seal simply enthralled me. And the cute, whiskered snout. So it is delightful to see this colony, and this endearing, furry pup, florping across the sand.

No, the best feeling is when they are free, with no wounds, with no plastic problems like this, with a good and clean environment to live in the old real Nature before humans destroyed everything...this is extremely sad, I almost cried watching this :( If those guys were not working to save them, well.... They are heroes, of course, but they are cause they are the good face of humanity and not the other part that caused all from the start, and that part includes all of us, even when we don't see it. :(

I would never donate to my channel on this platform, since YT eats most of the donation anyway. So you would be giving the money to some greedy ass bastards instead of the actual channel. It’s better to maybe donate to their Patreon since then 100% will go to the rescuers and not the platform they use.

Rescuer: wound is surprisingly clean.
Seal: the sea is salty.
Well, it might burn, but it cleans the wound and helps healing.
Saline solution is the number one wound cleaner, albeit somewhat more sanitary.
Maybe it needs to be more clean

@@carolnorton2551 Not seawater. Seawater is full of microorganisms and pollutants from human activity. You can get nasty infections from open wounds in contact with seawater. Wild animals like these however have extremely robust immune systems which protect them from such infections.
You do an amazing thing, for those poor seals. It’s sad to see those awful deep cuts in their flesh. They must be in such pain.

I can't stop watching this one. I'm so sad 😞 with the first rescue. Then the second pup I'm so happy and just love soooo much the way he lies there without a care in the world loving his back rub. One, two flippers and a shake of his bum still doesn't bother him. As soon as the plastic is picked up he soon moves his but 👋 I'm sure I will be watching this one again and again. Happy pup🦭🤗

Its more on the level of scrape then deep cut. The fur realy messes with the look.
Still. That stuff can get infected, especially in the ocean. And serious infections are very deadly without antibiotics.
So its actually quite important they dont get constant open wounds. Which that nilon string was causing.
