NightMare: "dude i got your army hard countered maybe you switch to something from 2024?"
Rogue: "zergling murders will continue until meta improves"
"Good ol' zergling, never fails"
@@Paveway-chan until they get mashed like some poor feller's dog by a wasteland patrol
Rogue: haha dogs go bark bark
I've finally been watching long enough that I'm starting to recognize people returning from military service!
Ramblings aside, Lowko does such a great job of introducing the players.
I thought Rogue’s name was familiar lol… I think I watched him in the HotS days
That should come with a badge. My old dog HuK is pleased.
Exactly me!! I was like ohhhh I know this one!
OMGGG!!!!!!! Rouge is back???????????? :p
Oh yes, the blushing cheek colour is back
ROUGE IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!
Rouge is back in vouge!!!
@@tastydirtydan988 ROUGE IS BAT!!!
YEAH ROGUE IS BACK! Damn... i wrote it correctly...
Rogue is Back??? Zergs we should Celebrate! Its still gonna hurt, but this is definitely news that will make Serral and Dark going for their military service soon hurt less.
Sidenote: I think even solely considering the difference in capability with micro and macro, I think most pros today would dominate the early years of SC2. Like just thinking about what Lowko says about Having more stuff.. then adding in one's dexterity with multitasking that control too...
Sidenote: Sidenote: Rouge.
what does military service mean?
@@MAGMAXPX South Korea and Finland require men to enroll in the military for a few years, which means they can't compete (or in Serrals case can't compete as much).
ah ok ty@@fireeye6762
Rouge!?!?!?
@@fireeye6762 Serral will not be as "gone" as the Korean players are during their military service. Serral is attending the Finnish "urheilukoulu" army branch meant for pro-athletes, and he will serve a total of 6 months, with significant leeway for making his own schedule and attending big tournaments.
Man, Lowko, you have such a grasp on the SC2 scene - thanks for the content and for putting so much time into this awesome game.
He really does! I love his gameplay, casting, and personality, but he's also familiar with everything from patch notes to player personalities/habits. I don't play multiplayer SC2 and doubt I ever will, but I do play the campaigns (currently doing Hard and maybe one day Brutal, one day...) and watch Lowko, and that's a solid way to spend the weekend.
It's good to see him back. He's always been fun to watch.
You heard him guys! It's officially spelled Rouge now!!!!
Still remember how Rogue and Serral went to toe to toe in a particual tournament when both were top notch
I started playing SC2 in 2021 during the pandemic. All my knowledge of the game comes from this channel
at first i was hyped JaeDong is back but then.... ROQUE poped up, cant wait for an entertaining future
Purely trying to help: Rogue.
1:35 here i am watching ur vids since 2 weeks and im amazed by how Rogue plays
Thanks for the video, Lowko. Cool little series showing how the game and strategies have evolved in such a short time.
The title is ambiguos, for a moment I thought that Florencio was back
He wouldn't just leave us!
florencio has quit?
@@juztina7346 Ill send some replays soon
11:00 Byun won his first few games after coming back and turning into micro jackson.
9:35: Thought he was super dead.
12:30: Now he's ahead by 40 army supply and slightly on eco =0
14:50: Aaaand it's gone =(
15:23: Brutal...
Lowko, you don't know how excited I am whenever you cast someone who's returning from a hiatus. Glimpses of true greatness and a few rough edges... Rogue is a hop, skip and jump from being on top again 😍
No way rogue is back. He is a legend!!!!!!
Omg, many thanks Lowko for this absolute treat! I am fully on the hopium of Rogue coming back! Goated player!
Please say you’re going to cover Stats’ GSL matches, especially this last round of 8! One of your videos you say that you felt that “Protoss often has to trick their opponent…” and I think Stats’ series are the complete opposite of that statement and show perfect Macrotoss being played. I think he gets cheesed half of the games too. They’re amazing matches against Shin and Cure
Lowko: haha by time traveling to 2014 with modern sc2 knowledge im finally world #1
Also lowko: wait what about hitler?
Lol love you lowko
I'm one of the ones who started watching after we went into service ... so, super fun!
MC the Boss Toss is the GOAT. Nobody else has even challenged his Let It Go performance.
MC was like the one rare extroverted gamer in the SC2 pro scene.
ROUGE IS BACK??¿???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NICE
I think one of the first video I saw from you was Rogue vs Dark or something ... Sends me back quite abit keep up the good work Lowko still love your vidz man
It's so nice to have one of the best assassin Zergs of all time back on the scene. Now we just need to get Zest and Innovation back full time and my dreams will fully come true. 🤞🏻
Innovation came back for a short time after the military then stopped playing unfortunately. :S
Rouge played so good!
Return of the GOAT? Life got unbanned? Let’s go!
I will miss Dark and Serral! 😢
About that time-travel hypothesis, if a pro knew in advance that he would be sent back in time, he would spend all the time he could spare to study the meta back then and practice counter styles. In that case, dominating the old school SC2 league would be totally possible.
thumbnail was so dang clever
2:30 Innovation is a name I haven't heard in a long time. Also sad to hear Dark is going to be doing military service soon, his games with her0 are some of the most fun matches to watch, wish their military services had coincided...
Rusty Rogue sounds like something they do at truck stops
16:00 infested marines go brrrrrr
Oh yay! Rogue has returned!
Harstem played Scarlett on a legacy balance patch just recently, so you can actually go back in time.
So glad Rouge is back!!!!!! What does everyone else think??????
Rouge?!?!
Thanks to Lowko I can finally write rogue the right way
Tbh, I was hoping it would be Zest.
Hopefully soon!
serral's seat warmer while serral is in the military
I'm an oddball in that in chat I use full sentences, much to the annoyance of some people, but occasionally I use "?" and "!", which I learnt from comic books. I justify their use to myself because it's used in chess notation, where I can hence safely use "??" to mean "what the hell are you doing?!" and "!!" as "whoa!".
let's go, Rogue! time to watch this after his game versus Olivera, lol
It is amazing to see Rogue coming back, but it is even more of a shock to me learning Serral has military service too. I didn’t know Finland also has that😢
Finland basically has Russia as a neighbor so not surprised.
The return of Rogue and the rise of Clem is about to be an exciting future
Finally got around to watching the dark comedy movie In Brogue!!
Lets be real Rogue was prolly grinding Maplestory during his whole military service I'm sure he's still learning all the new build orders xD
Funny I think I started watching you on a rogue video just before he went to the military service time goes by fast
Keeping up with a meta in theory by watching, and playing the strategies needed to compete in practice - two very different things. I guess it is not quite on the level of muscle memories, but old habits die hard and new strategies need ingame practice.
now i got a game idea ... it is a roguelike set in a french renaissance red light district and it will be called "Moulin Rogue"
Great cast Lokow!
oh how i looking forward to the next GSL.
SOS ,SERRAL, LIFE. GOATS
Woooooooooo some good news to watch todayyyyy
Back in the last decade, besides Rouge, we got 'Huksky'
Finnish military service is not very strict, most weekends you get to go home, and in the evenings you can even bring a laptop to play, should you want to do that. So keeping up with balance changes shouldnt be a problem for Serral :) also you can get extra time off if you have for example a football tournament and you play in a team. Gotta admit that it would be abit unorthodox to get leave to play a videogame but in his case they will most likely make it happen. Ima finn myself.
hell... so its been 18 months already .... YAY!!
Thank Christ Rogue is back, we need a Zerg who isn't Dark or Serral and has a functional brain.
let him cook
I did not know Finland had mandatory military service
They share a border with Russia.
You need a big military reserve (around 1 mil) when you have shared border of 830 miles with Russia.
It's good to see Rogue playing again.
It is still insane to me that people become millionaires just by playing a game. 😅
other than simple unit changes Pros have gotten much better at starting multiple engagements at the same time.
"You Are Not Prepared!"
Nightmare´s blink micro living up to his name ... Nightmare micro.

sick-lick-cull and sir-cue-ler
Lowko algo baiting so hard today lmao
*RUOJE!!!*
Commenting before watching. I remember Rogue. He was brutal. But then Serral came along. Serral is better. But maybe Rogue still has got it? Im excited to see how this goes!
26:44 Rogue forgot to add the Hatch to the hotkey :/
Love your passion. Glad you don’t just cover the flavor of the day
I had no idea Serral was going to the military. My heart is crushed 😥
He got in a program meant for professional athletes. He is third e-sports player ever who got in. They have normal military training but better chances to continue practicing their profession and possibly even attend to tournaments. Also the shortest military service in Finland is 6 months. So it will be a bit different than korean player totally disappearing from scene for 18 months.
He will probably not be as "gone" as the Korean players are during their military service. Serral is attending the "urheilukoulu" army branch meant for pro-athletes, and he will serve a total of 6 months, with significant leeway for making his own schedule.
21:14 Regarding progamers playing old strategies when they come back.
I think it's not they don't follow the updated, but it's different to know about it on an intelectual level,
And actualy performing in a match utilizing that knowledge. You simply have the timings engraved,
Buildorders and reactions internalized, and it simply takes practice to update those.
Sure, Rouge may have played something he's seen, and try out a strategy he never practiced for the first time on a tournament,
But he probably decided he'd be even worse off.
I only just started watching StarCraft just do to your casting and passion for the game.
Probably around a month now?
A 'rusty rouge' is something you shouldn't fully explain if you want this video to stay monetized
great game!
No spthano you forgot that mad lad.
i know other games have certain players leave for military service but it seems like it impacts SC2 a lot more. It is kind of funny that these master mind gamers who controls armies to destroy their enemy are being sent to the military in which case it seems like they are being sent to go and control their respected nations army and manages them. Maybe im watching to many low budget SyFi movies
It impacts sc2 a lot because the scene is tiny. In the last 2 years or so, basically half of the top korean players went to military.
@@trstnhn It is not because of the tiny size, but because of the disproportionate amount of Korean pro-players (and 1 Finnish player) that need to attend to their mandatory military service. But sure, the small scene is one major reason for said disproportion.
Is MaxPax the Danish prince? I've heard rumors...
Lowko forgets than when Byun came back from his military service immediately built 3 barracks and reaper rushed Solar, and won the series.
Also the Finns have military service?
Do the Finns have 830 miles of shared border with Russia? Yes, to your and to mine question. We have around 5 mil people in Finland and our wartime military reserve is around 1 mil. Finland also have a one of Europe's best/largest artillery corps and good quality/sized fighter and tank corps for our population base. The mandatory military service is probably slightly more lax than Korea's, but it is very good quality training for 6 to 12 months. 6 months for Serral, though (and also even more lax as he is entering the "urheilukoulu", which is meant for pro-athletes.
Serral starting his military service on my borthday? what a honnor
i saw oracle spam and was hoping it would be has
If you use Oracles to kill lava on the newest base. You can stop it's production of units. Making zerg think they can win when infact less troops that can spawn. Use this to lock down a base without having to actually take it.
Rogue playing the rouge coloured Zerg
It's good to watch a Protoss winning
going back in time to the first year of SC1 would get you a few free wins, then they would adapt and be just fine very quickly
My god, Rogue's service went by faster than mine did. And I didn't serve.
Would like to see rogue play Serral
Some of you don't realize how strict the Korean Army is. They have a no personal electronics policy. They cannot have a cell phone or laptop for those 18 months. They have no way to keep up with recent videos or new strats except for their one holiday of the year.
LOL the 69 “niiiceeeee”
It ain’t much, but it’s honest work.
im waiting for serral vs rogue , also dark and SoS.
I think the greatest is Life
@21:30 maybe that's just me, but i can imagine pro-gamers using the military-service to get some time off that one thing that dominated their life for 10years. not as in "i'm fed up with it" but as a time for yourself.
What if Serral is from the future, playing future strategies by shaping the current Zerg landscape?
I think the cap, is because in a lot of militaries you don't get access to the internet.
Well, now at least the WCS Europe will be exciting. Shame, that Serral had to leave though.. he was in an insane form lately. I thought he'd plow through every tournament in 2024 that he participates in.
Re Serral "leaving". He will probably not be as "gone" as the Korean players are during their military service. Serral is attending the "urheilukoulu" army branch meant for pro-athletes, and he will serve a total of 6 months, with significant leeway for making his own schedule.
@@leinis80 ah, ok! But he cancelled WCS Spring already :/
i forgot rogue even existed
Moulin Rogue and Rouge One, right?
Holy shit we are losing Serral for 9 months? His playstyle is so unique, i will miss him!
No. Our peacetime military service is nowadays either 6 or 12 months. Also, Serral will not be as "gone" as the Korean players are during their military service. Serral is attending the "urheilukoulu" army branch meant for pro-athletes, and he will serve a total of 6 months, with significant leeway for making his own schedule. I do not expect him to miss a big tournament this year (possible, though). But we could see less of "peak" Serral.
Hey Lowko,
NightMare played as blue, but what color did Rogue play?
As the French would say: ROUGE!!!!!!!
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the only player who’s been able to find success coming right out of the military in GSL is her0. Just about everyone else has struggled, also if Rogue has returned then Trap should be back as well.
WOW ROUGE IS BACK??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rogue is probably the scariest zerg out there...
nice!!!
