Hello dear, what is your advice? I have rotten roots from overwatering and the soil does not dry out quickly. I used to water every day. If you could please advise me on how to get rid of the rotten roots so that the plant can absorb the elements and water, I am one of those who use natural fertilization. Thank you, dear. I await your response.
I knew that you must have had a nursery at some point or used to teach in some way just because of how articulate and knowledgeable you actually are about some in depth details. Did I hear that right? You used to own or work in an orchid nursery?? Or .?
yes we had a large orchid nursery and have recently sold up to trael the world and hopefully bring everyone all the knowledge from different growers we meet on our travels , this is the dream
I make that mistake with staking a lot..hahaha!! But I learned how to make rhizome stakes from Rick L. Orchids and I also have bamboo stakes cut slightly slanted. I just pray and wiggle them all the way down to the bottom of the pot and tie them on. Sometimes we just have an off day ❤
this specific one no , the bark was already a little moist and I want the roots to keep growing down into the media to look for water , the psuedobulbs were still plump
Did I miss where you said it was you knew may be a calcium deficiency?? Because I would love to know what you should look out for, but can't find where in the video you said something about it, beyond just treatment Thanks in advance -L
Do you grow your orchids outside? If you do how much sun bro you give them? Are you in a humid place like Florida? I’m running out of indoor space so I’m thinking of trying outdoor growing.
we have humid summers and drier winters but I grow most of my orchids outside .I am just inland of Durban South Africa to give you a reff. on our weather conditions

just getting life done lol
💯
Wet the plant to soften the root for easy removal .
😁 you are 💯correct just rushed the process to make the video before we left on our trip .
Do you ever plant in only lava rock?
lava rock here is so expensive , but if I could get it at a reasonable price I would use more of it
I've put my smallish cattleya in med leca balls. I hope she will be alright but will repot in time in your mix if she suffers.
leca is also good you just have to be more dilligent with your watering 👍

I’ve seen your repotting. All looks logical but!!
Did you water AFTER REPOTING??
this specific one no , the bark was already a little moist and I want the roots to keep growing down into the media to look for water , the psuedobulbs were still plump
