A good tip for those installing these is to put the new bushing in the freezer over night. It will shrink the bushing ever so slightly.
Pro Tip for reinstall: wrap a ratcheting strap around the rack and cradle and just sock it down. Super easy. No sledge or wood blocks. I went with Delrin. Love it.
FD Race Shop actually has a slightly better version of this. It also adds a mount for the steerin rack to brace it more to keep it in place so you do get a lot less vaugeness
Wondering if this will fix my C5. I have a 1/2’’ dead spot on center, which is frustrating as hell!!
I’ve tried re-adjusting the collar on the steering shaft to steering rack, didn’t help a damn bit!

Yessir. Replaced tie rods and ball joints. All Moog parts; lowered it on the stock bolts at the same time I done all this.
@@VetOnVettes these aren't Porsches. My buddy's Cyman is razor sharp off center, i.e., don't sneeze, or you will change lanes! Feels so nice to drive his car. Not only did we get the Cobalt steering wheel, we also got it's steering rack. LOL
i approach this as we did on bias plies back in the day, you turned the wheel, waited for the tires to roll over, then you turned. LOL
I’ve been thinking about this too. Finally got my new wheels and tires on. Falken 615k and I was expecting them to remedy this anemic center feeling but I think it’s just a c5 design issue. Possibly wondering if a c6 rack will fit and work. 🤔 I try to stay off the forums because they’re def not what they used to be and it’s an exhausting experience now.
how'd it go? my c6 z51 steering feels weird. definitely in the center at low speeds. maybe im just used to hydraulic and electric steering but it feels wrong
I am curious how long it took you to do your own work to change this unit out. I was quoted five hours of labor to put this part in by a shop.
I did it in about an hour & half with no lift and improvising tools 🤷🏼♂️

Good quality/brand aftermarket seats will last give or take as long as any stock seat (depends on the materia ofc)
