EASY CUCUMBER MANDAS/CAKE. Ghendada Adde Authentic Mangalorean/Goan Style Yummy Sweet Dish.

  • Easy Authentic Mangalorean/Goans Traditional Cucumber Mandas/Ghendada Adde or Yummy Cake prepared.
    It's very easy & simple to prepare. Very yummy & healthy to eat at any season. Specially now the season to get nice Mangalore & Goa homegrown Cucumbers.
    I do remember our childhood days homegrown Cucumbers are very good to use organic & prepared tasty several dishes.
    Mostly in our Mangalore/Goa area Cucumber Mandas, Manni, are very famous & mostly prepared in every house. Salads & other all several dishes are prepared from Cucumber. Healthwise it's very good for everyone.
    Ingredients:⬇️
    2nos. Of Big Homegrown
    organic Cucumbers (if
    small can use 4nos)
    2-3 cups of Idli Rice
    1big cup Tender Coconut
    (Atsar soft Narl)
    1cup organic Jaggery or
    Palm Jaggery (add as per
    your sweet taste)
    3tbsp Ghee
    5 Cardamoms (powdered)
    1tsp Salt or as per taste
    Method: ⬇️
    1. Clean & wash Rice. Soak it for 4-5hrs. Clean Cucumber remove skin & make very fine small pieces (easy to grind). Grate Jaggery.
    2. Grind soaked rice with very little water (2-3tbsp) after half grinding, add finely chopped Cucumber, it'll release it's own water, add Tender Coconut, Jaggery, Cardamom, salt. Grind into smooth thick batter.
    3. Take a round shaped any Pot/Pan or Vessel. Heat 2-3tbsp of Ghee spread it all over the Vessel. Heat it nicely & pour the ready batter mixture in it. Cover tight lid keep it on Dum. Cook it on very very slow flame till it done & cooked, 1hour or 1&1/2hour. It's depend upon your flame adjustment & the used Utensil.
    4. Check it in between whether it's done & cooked. You can flip it & cook it for few minutes more to get nice golden colour.
    5. Believe it. It's very Cool, Healthy, delicious & with lovely aroma. Everyone enjoyed thoroughly. Love to cook again and again on Family's demand.

    Tips#
    1. If you like can add Nuts or
    can add fried Onions &
    Coconut Pcs for extra
    taste.
    2. You can prepare it in
    several ways:
    1. Use Charcoals up & down. 2. Can steam it in Idli maker/
    Thondor
    3. Use Idli Rava, it tastes
    so yummy.
    4. Use Banana Leaves, it's
    aroma mixed with & tastes
    more.
    5. Use any white Rice, but
    Mutambo/Idli rice is good.
