I remember when I was a kid and my dad loaner car was a Honda odyssey, he drove a 2003 accord, and I thought it was literally so cool that he had that car for a week
This is a great review of a car of a dad, who is pursuing his passion, and trying to fulfill it, while still trying to be a great dad, and taking the kids where they need to go.
Happy birthday! You’re my first go to automotive journalist in the morning for your straightforward reviews. Other channels have gotten annoying off-roading anything with AWD or bickering dual reviews. Keep up the good work!
My friend's couple plans to sell aged Tesla S and X soon. For all those years, they bragged about Tesla and no more. She said they were fed up with inconvenient repair services and waited six months to receive parts. She and her husband are returning to Hybrid and discussing Lexus TX500h. I like all about TX500h, except I wish Lexus made the interior more luxurious appearance. But at the end of the day, it's Lexus👍and Toyota Hybrid👍.
Let’s face it, cars like Lexus, Acura, Volvo, they are not Luxury cars. They are just better refined, or well build cars. There are almost 30k difference between The base TX350 VS base BMW X7, so I say for this price, this is good enough 😊
What you talking about??? check the Trucar plenty's of TX in stock ,people is smart to don't pay almost $80k for this cheaply made plastic overpriced junk!
I finally saw one of these in person. The way the interior space is talked about how large it is, I was anticipating this vehicle to "feel" huge on the outside. Walking by it though, it seems very normal in size.
The removable rear center console and the cup holders are so smart. There’s been so many spilled drinks or crumbs getting eternally stuck in our cup holders of our LX 570 when I was growing up.I can Imagine how easy it is to clean those. I wonder why no one has thought of that.
It's a shame that Toyota, Kia, Mazda and Hyundai don't give us an option of a bench seat in the higher trims of their 3-row SUVs. It's a deal breaker for me as well.
@@igopr715 I can see that being an issue. I don’t understand why automakers think automatically that because we want the top trims somehow captains chairs is somehow more preferable to us.
We lived our removable bench seat in our 91 Previa, got captains chairs in our 2004 Sienna as our 4 boys were getting bigger but they were a pain in the butt to get out and put back in. We did a lot of that with moving kids to and from college. Bring back the removable bench seats and the fold into the floor rear seats. Nothing beats a van for moving things! Today I picked up my TX 500h Luxury, Incognito with Birch interior. Traded a 2023 RX 350h, wanted more space and power. It’s been great. Kirk - my birthday is tomorrow, happy birthday.
Lexus displayed my TX at the CES show in Vegas, and then the local dealer was able to sell it. At the time, I was told it was one of a few in the county, with the others being press cars like Kirk’s. I have really liked the car, traded in a 23 RX for it. I did, however, have a strange issue recently, where the car went into limp mode, shutting down the electric motors. I was on a 12 hour drive in blizzard like conditions and the air intake essentially plugged with snow/ice. at the time, I wasn’t sure what happened, but I opened the hood and found a massive amount of snow and ice. Thawing and removing most of it, the car returned to a more drivable condition and I made it home. I just got it back from the dealership yesterday where I learned about the air filter. It’s a bizarre situation, and I hope it’s not indicative a design flaw. Lexus put me in a loaner 23 RX 350, and I was immediately reminded at how much better I like the TX
By far the best 3 row i have a mdx 22 and my 3rd row is just so uncomfortable in comparison to this one. I went to the dealer searching for that same spec with birch interior but in orlando its really hard to come by
Since your making videos Lexus probably sees can you mention that it would have been nice to have the refrigerated center consul as an option on the TX . You think it being a family oriented road trip car since they put it in the new GX the new TX would also have the option and maybe also some rear entertainment screens I get the iPads and tablets are everywhere but it’s just nice to have the option especially for really small kids that don’t own tablets but live watching movies on long drives . Other than those things it’s great.
As much as the refinement of a Lexus would be nice, I keep gravitating toward the convenience and functionality of a minivan as a family vehicle. School drop off and pick up seem like it would be more cumbersome with this compared to a minivan
You and Tom Voelk are my favorite automatic reviewer. Mainly for giving real life mpg feedback and real life scenario cargo space (esp third row) and giving reference to older car such as your old Sienna. Thank you and keep up the great work.

We might wait until the GX hybrid comes out if I can keep my oil burning Kia going long enough to get one at MSRP or less 😄
Great Review, however I have a question... Does lexus typically make poor decisions when it comes to interior color choices? White seats in a 3 row family suv sounds like a disaster. Likewise, not being able to option any of the nice interior colors on the GX Overtrail (the green suede and beige seats are not appealing whatsoever) is a huge miss in my opinion. Yes they do change color pallets over time, especially later model years to entice customers to buy a new one. The Lighter colored interior is not the only option.
It's really weird. They aren't really marketing this towards younger families like mine. All the commercials have grandma and grandpa sitting in the back. Don't even get me started on the 6 seater hybrids and strange interior choices.

Are you able to put 20” wheels on the Lexus TX500H? I love the engine, mpg and performance but 22” wheels make for a rougher ride. Just curious since the 500H has bigger brakes and has the rear wheel steering 😅
fuel economy difference between the 350 and 500 is 3-4mpg depending on driving pattern. The difference in price is over $9000. That means you will save about $6 for every 400 or so miles. You would have to drive the car 600,000 miles to come out ahead. Performance is the only reason to get the 500 and it's a family hauler....
I'd really like a bench seat and regular sized wheels with the hybrids. 22s are just dumb on a family vehicle and six seats isn't enough for a car this big.
Looks great. Hope it does well. Just a little too big and long for me. Wish they could have just copied the telluride or palisade "dimensions" but have Lexus engine n style.
Manual. Only the 3rd row by push button on the 2nd row pillar and trunk, as well as the info/entertainment screen. 3 ways for the 3rd row, none for the 2nd row except 2 Manual latches and an auto button on top of the seat to move it forward to reach the 3rd row
I have a deposit in the TX 350 premium, mainly because I do need that bench seat in the second row. I have 5 in my family and I could probably make the 500h work, but I would have to jump that price a bit. I have read other post that the fuel economy in the 2.4T is not great at all and that is concerning me. The GH hybrid does look appealing on paper, but it’s hard to get in south Florida as you already know and market ups are present at dealers. I don’t find the vehicles you could cross shop with appealing either. Advice?

Like the car, not the very limited colour choice of dark colours, wow, why is that?????
Looks great. Hope it does well. Just a little too big and long for me. Wish they could have just copied the telluride or palisade "dimensions" but have Lexus engine n style.
KIRK HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂🎉🇺🇲😎🐻❄️
HEY WOULD YOU CHOOSE THIS OVER THE X5? !!
happy birthday 🎉
That triple beam led would drain that battery too much probably idk
What’s the mpg? For hybrid
HBD bro
does the second row fold down by push button or manually done? thanks
Manual.
Only the 3rd row by push button on the 2nd row pillar and trunk, as well as the info/entertainment screen.
3 ways for the 3rd row, none for the 2nd row except 2 Manual latches and an auto button on top of the seat to move it forward to reach the 3rd row
Way too many ads interrupt the UA-cam video
10:15 arent they illuminated?😅
I have a deposit in the TX 350 premium, mainly because I do need that bench seat in the second row. I have 5 in my family and I could probably make the 500h work, but I would have to jump that price a bit. I have read other post that the fuel economy in the 2.4T is not great at all and that is concerning me. The GH hybrid does look appealing on paper, but it’s hard to get in south Florida as you already know and market ups are present at dealers. I don’t find the vehicles you could cross shop with appealing either. Advice?
4 months later but the fuel economy difference between the 350 and 500 is 3-4mpg depending on driving pattern. The difference in price is over $9000. That means you will save about $6 for every 400 or so miles. You would have to drive the car 600,000 miles to come out ahead.
Performance is the only reason to get the 500 and it's a family hauler....
Lexus Tx is a excellent luxury suv and miles better than the gv80 mdx plis more. There is a saying that successful people or products will always have haters
Agree. Especially the GV80, Telluride and Pallisade are total POS. I’m surprised at how loyal those rubbish fanboys are when their company doesn’t stand behind their back in quality and warranty. You’ll always find one of those POS cult people in a Lexus video. They can’t stand the fact people like better built cars.😂😁
