This is the only channel that does child seat space in every row effectively. Other channels quickly talk about seat space or show themselves, but not explain or show how or if a car seat can be in each row. Great job and great channel.
I have a New Luxury TX 350 and the nose of the vehicle is bold which was part of the attraction. We have five grandchildren and everyone loves the vehicle. Lexus Safety System + 3.0 is standard where many of the Luxury competitors is an additional option. The cupholders are removal because you can wash them and the tray underneath. The second row seats do also slide forwards and backwards which also fit our grandchildren car seats.
The Grand Highlander was a non-starter once we sat in the 3rd row because it seemed impossible to not sit on a seat belt buckle. Much better idea for the TX to only have two seats in the 3rd row.
Thank you Kelly for your honesty on the functionality of the TX! This makes me even more excited about this vehicle as I have three kids, two forward facing and one in a booster.
I LOVE TX350!! I’ve been driving this vehicle for over a week now. It’s incredible comfortable for me and my kids. Especially the auto systems for any type of weather. I turned the air conditioner into auto, it can be adjusted cold and warm for me at very comfortable temperatures. The space is also larger than my previous vehicle Volvo XC90. Driving this car has made my life more enjoyable!!
@@user-yx4on8hx4w hence the word “seems” and me asking the question. Obviously i haven’t driven one if I’m asking but a 7.7 seconds 0-60 likely empty is insanely slow.
Wow I’m so glad there you created this review to showcase the spacing with carseats. I have 2 toddlers so this definitely solidifies our choice on choosing this car. 😊
This review for whatever reason felt rushed . Would have loved to know how it felt on the road . When pointing out the digital new dash and how it felt fresh, would have liked to actually see it.
I drove one the other day and it wad an absolute no for me. They put in a 2.4L 4 cylinder engine so it was sluggish and slow. I currently have an RX and had planned on a TX when they dropped but changed my mind immediately during my test drive
This car was a natural progression after 10 years in a minivan, perfect for teens and their buddies. Feels so luxurious, but still has space for sports gear and our giant dog. The 500h has a lot more power, and a little better gas mileage.
I agree: I'm buying the Gravity or the TX 550+: whichever comes first. Put a deposit at Lexus a couple of months ago, but I'd definitely hop to a Gravity.
What a miss by Lexus for the second row seat. Third row usage is such an exception and not a norm. For a regular family of 4, with two children just kicking their legs, they should provide a 2 row option with the second row captain seats on a long slide, so there is enough room all the time for every seat.
I appreciate her pointing out the lack of sun shades in the third row and rear facing child seats being an issue. Very nice review but would liked her to cover her impressions of the driving experience.
Remember that the first and the second row legroom in Grand Highlander and TX is actually SMALLER than that in regular highlander. The 3rd row is still for kids, for the most part, and the cargo space behind the 3rd row is only on paper larger than that of regular highlander due to the boxier shape of the SUV.
@@KyleMueller33 Absolutely (check these vehicles' specs online)! I test-drove the Grand (not the TX) last month and I was super negatively surprised how negligible the space advantage, in practice (not on paper), was. If really someone needs more space, they should consider a full size SUV likely from the GM products.
I have to disagree. We compared the regular vs the Grand highlander next to each other in my driveway with a 6ft teenager and the grand highlander has more room in the 3rd row by a couple of inches. It was about the same in the 2nd row. The GH is 6.5 inches longer than the regular highlander. We went from a Sienna to the GH with 4 tall teenagers and the 6 of us fit great with no complaints from the kids. I think we will miss the trunk space on the Sienna but overall we love the GH. I can’t speak to the car with car seats. I wish these reviews were not totally focused on car seats as those years are so short and the real struggle is finding the right car as the kids get taller.
I have 2 rear facing car seats and 1 forward facing carseat, will it work in this car? I'm a petite driver... My concern is getting to the 3rd row to help my oldest into their carseat when both the second row carseats will be rear facing.
First time on your channel. Excellent review and I like the quick speak. I play most YT reviews at 1.25 speed or more because of the dilly dally. You nail it. Just subscribed.
Great JOB! Please do a Lucid Gravity in the future if you get the chance! You earned this new subscriber! My EXACT car seat (revolve) and EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thanks! Thought I was going to have to Turo a Grand Highlander LOL. loved it all: I prefer 90 degree doors too, thank you for the power-recline note, and I needed to see toddler space with 2nd row back. I must note: I'm pretty sure the TX is the Biggest 2nd row for rear facing car seats. Anything bigger would need the large SUVs. Since you're tall, it would've been good to see you sit in that passenger seat for reference.
Would you pick the bench or the captains chairs with a 2 and 4 year old one is RF and the other is FF and we want a third? I’m wondering if 2 car seats and a booster would fit across in the second row or just have my oldest crawl from bench into 3rd row ???
Thank you for validating my impression of 2nd-row legroom. I fit better behind myself in competitors' models vs this, and I thought I was going crazy because people were saying the opposite.
Would love your opinion.. We’re in the market for a similar suv under 80k… we have that evenfloe too, 1 kid that’s 2 years old n expecting our second. What SUV would you pick? My wife is 5’7 n I’m shorter but have found that same issue with second row legroom. I wanted an x5 but is no better than my current 5 series. Curious what your shortlist would be
good review. this and the upcoming gmc acadia (buick enclave's corporate cousin since the buick is not redesigned yet) will be the biggest in their class. pretty close to a full-size interior wise without needing to go to an actual full size (which basically means going with a truck underneath)
Dont agree about the Lexus TX vs. Toyato GH. The engine option on the loaded GH will be the 362 HP while on the base TX you'll still get the smaller engine. You'll need to spend about $15K more to get that engine on the TX.
It feels just as easy to drive as the Aviator but more spacious inside and much more cargo space. Also Lincoln has too many things tied up in the digital interface that should just be physical buttons
Love your reviews as a tall family driver! You have the same concerns as me with car seats and 2nd row legroom. That is why I've pretty much decided EV9 is my next car. Hopefully by end of this calendar year.
My feeling for Lexus TX and Grand Highlander is that they are great options once your kids are out of the car seats, just not going to work if you have three kids in the car seats. Better off with MDX, Pilot, Atlas or a minivan if you have a need to install three car seats. I currently have three Grieco Slim LX 3 in MDX second row and it is working well for our family. MDX drives and handles much nicer than the LX350 as well.
what is the point of Toyota (Lexus) making this Mid-size + SUVs when you can't fit rear facing toldder/child seats, when my 2016 Rav 4 (w/out 3rd row - but we don't need it) can fit those easily? lol (Great vid Kelly as always)
My brand new TX is rattling from multiple places. Very disappointed! Should have listened to the advice to not buy a new model. I thought it would be different for Lexus.
Why do you post the same content under multiple Lexus TX videos? Could you provide a video about the rattling issue so that we can evaluate more details? I'm considering buying a Lexus TX and would like to get honest feedback. Thanks!
I think you and your family needs a minivan instead of a midsized car that's what we had when our children were your age Because now we only needs this for the need of our grandchildren to all be with us.
I think if you’ve never had luxury cars maybe you’d be impressed by a Lexus but if you’ve driven nothing but luxury cars Lexus isn’t ever really going to be on your radar when there’s so many better options. There’s a reason it’s called a poor persons luxury car.
It’s definitely not just you. I still have to look at one in person to be fair but in all of the super high definition videos, the leather is not even standard on the lower trims. There’s no aluminum there’s no wood in the cabin. There’s no intricate design work I’m not exactly sure what makes this a lexus rather than a Toyota.
Loving this car, but It's ugly from the front! May wait for the next gen if it makes it, or other color options in future years. Just doesnt look quite like a Lexus.

I haven't driven either, so I don't have experience with them, but the TX hybrid (not plug in) is around $70k. Since GH isn't offering a plug in (at least not currently), I think that would be a better comparison.
Can I ask what interior she does like? I have the smaller NX and my Lincoln and Volvo could never compare with the technology the new Lexus models offer. I also felt the materials were a MUCH higher quality than at the least the Volvo. Anytime I sit in a non-luxury brand I feel like it’s just a bunch of plastic that will crack one day.

Honestly if you need to really use three rows regularly, a minivan is much better.
