Thoughts on Episode 8?
I enjoyed it. Especially the song.
Pretty good
It was super good
Just okay i really did not pay attention to the episode of little bit
Didn’t really like it, but the atmosphere of the episode was really dope.
It's soooo refreshing that Bee turned out to be a decent enough person and not complete spoilty
And the fact she apologized for yelling at Loona was such a nice touch. I also loved how she cared about the party go-ers, asking Loona to take Blitz home before he would get black out drunk.
I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. Her song was all about giving hellhounds what they want, not what they need.
EXACTLYY
She's literally just like JayJay. Just a straight-up party girl.
@wdcain1 Well, getting what you want and not what you need is the essence of Gluttony. Empty calories for the soul.
Loona was legitimately ready to throw down with a demon strong enough to squash ALASTOR like a BUG. I don't know whether to call her brave, stupid, or suicidal.
Probably all three.
Vortex is one lucky Hellhound. But then again Bee's pretty lucky to have him too.
I don't know where you got that info from, but Alastor isn't that weak.
@AllExistence In the Helluva Boss BLM live stream Vivzie confirms that Stolas is more powerful than Alastor, as an Ars Goetia and the Seven Sins are more powerful than Stolas. So having the squashed as a bug statement could be a little much but him getting beat by Queen Beel is very much true
@AllExistence weak? Not at all. The problem is that Bee is beelzebub, aka one of the sins. On the same level as Lucifer, and Asmodeus.
I mean, Bee isn't surrounding herself in high society. You wouldn't see someone like Stolaz in one of her parties, and the party is filled with Imps and hellhounds. I get the feeling that high society doesn't actually like her but she doesn't give a shit.
I’d believe that
She seems to be close to satan and belphegor tho? arent they considered high?
The feel when that's literally Kesha
@@kitsuujujitsuu4025 I'm assuming there close with all the 6 other leaders just because there the og group but the rest questioning why the other leaders put up with her
Even tho Bee is exactly the kind of company Stolas could've used
Well can we just say that Rochelle Diamante did an amazing job singing Cotten candy, I hope she gets recognition because she did a great job and did sound like Kesha, fooled me lol.
I literally only learned from this video/comment section that it WASN’T KE$HA singing! She did an absolutely fantastic job.
If Beel makes a return and they can't get Kesha for the voice, they could use Rochelle instead and I'll probably never know the difference, she did a great job singing.
@@jackhacker5738 yeah fr I didn’t even notice till another created pointed it out when talking about why they had to wait
@@Mewmew-lv5iv pretty sure legal reasons
@@Mewmew-lv5ivDid you not watch the video? Lol
Having her write and produce the song is one thing, but having her sing the song while she was in the middle of a legal battle with her old producer would've been bad. It potentially means that Spindlehorse could've gotten sued or forced to give the old producer royalties which would've been extremely costly for an indle animation studio. So they had to just keep her as the voice and not the singer. Her being in it alone was probably still a problem, so they had to wait for Kesha's legal battle to be over before being comfortable enough to release the episode.
I'm gonna be honest Bee honestly feels like a party mom. making sure everyone's alright and having a good time but stepping in when she needs to. That might just be cuz of Kesha's voice acting tho. I'm not sure
That’s really interesting :)
I 100% got that vibe too!! Especially when she started asking those three or four partygoers if everything was going alright n the if party was good. (It helps that she calls everyone honey, though I know that’s a trope since she’s part bee)
Kesha didn't voice Bee.
@@Dr_Disconnect Bruh it's pointed out in the video itself that Kesha voiced Bee's dialogue.
@florasdoodles6925 no she was a writer of the song and a special guest but not the voice.
Bee dating a Hellhound actually makes sense for both her personality and her status as the queen of gluttony. While the other rulers have to maintain appearances Bee being the personification of gluttony does whatever she wants whenever she wants regardless what anyone has to say about it. If she wants to steal drugs from another ruler she does it if she wants to date a Hellhound she does it because who's gonna stop her.
Yep, her role is to indulge, no limits attached.
I was going to say that she is almost a hellhound herself being part dog so maybe that plays into it too
Not to mention she's... Pretty clearly a hellhound herself? Just with a few added features.
@@rulzbxtch To be fair, we didn't see how higher status demons and royals treat her and Tex, her club was full of almost exclusively Hellhounds and Imps, possibly her target base but also possibly her people. Of course the oppressed classes aren't generally going to snub one of their own making it up a latter stacked against them, but her ruler peers or her lessers that still outclass Imps and Hellhounds in the pecking order? That remains to be seen how they really feel about Bee and Tex.
@@rulzbxtchI think its the favt that she never gave anyone a higher standard to hold her by. Asmodeus trued to act like love was disgusting and he only lusted when in fact he clearly had feelings for fizz which makes him a hypocrite.
It's quite sad that we didn't get to hear Kesha actually song due to legal trouble but I'm so glad that she still managed to voice Bee
Well whoever sang the song did an excellent job because I actually thought it was Kesha lmao.
@@murderman7265 that was Kesha
She didn't voice Bee, either.
@@damonlam9145 kesha did the character's voice but not for the song. look at the credits
@@johncampbell3979she did voice Bee, just didn’t sing
I figure Tex doesn’t want to overly rely on Bee and that’s why he’s working for Verosika.
Which makes him an even bigger chad.
Tex out here showing he don’t need no sugar mama to work for he’s a working man. And I can respect that it also likely why they work so well together.
I really like his character!
He could have also been working for Verosika longer than dating Bee. He wouldn't automatically quit his job just cause he's with some one rich.
And let's be real, having a fallback plan in case an embodiment of a Sin gets bored with you isn't a terrible plan.
I see Loona's 'sudden' change making sense in wanting to go back. Her literal most important person is there now. The lonely wolf has her safety net and she wants Blitz to go in with her. A party where you know nobody doesn't seem as scary when you have just one friend or father beside you
That's called stupid writing. She went back just to leave again.
Yeah but they didnt make that clear enough if most of their audience has to draw conclusions themselves.
@@boop3nowurded538so you want everything spoonfed to you?
@@abloogywoogywooyou act like you’ve never done something stupid in your entire life.
@@heartvvitchthere's a difference between needing wanting/*needing* clarity and needing everything spoonfed to you.
Bee being able to date Tex makes so much sense when you consider how powerful she is. She BLEW UP to five times her usual size _just_ from Luna sassing her in typical Luna fashion. IMAGINE how mad and dangerous this woman could get if someone _dared_ judge or scoff at her and Tex..
And yet Stolas gets so much s**t for sleeping with an Imp?
Okay.....
This is something I think makes the general caste system a little more complex, looking at how much power particularly evil sinners can get is nothing to a Goetia, but the Goetia are nothing compared to the kings and queens of hell. The power dynamics in this world are far greater and it leaves lots of room for cool world building like this! Like who the fuck would target a being strong enough to level countries?
I LITERALLY SPENT THE WHOLE EPISODE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHETHER THAT WAS KESHA OR NOT
Same
I didn't realize until the credits
SAME MOMENT. but also. DONNIE PFP DONNIE PFPPPP
Only wrote the song, someone else sang it
@@thecarrieshot6411 She did actually voice the character though
Are we not going to talk about how the "honey/beelzejuice" is seemingly made from the excess happiness of the party goers. She says multiple times, "Keep making me that honey," whenever she has people be over indulgent and happy. So, verosika being addicted to beelzejuice specifically speaks volumes. She's not just used to drinking to numb the pain but feel some sort of happiness.
That actually adds another neat layer to Tex still working for Verosika while he's dating Bee. She is a mega star. Big enough that she even does shows in the human world! What better way to keep her hooked (and so keep probably a large portion of her fan base hooked) on honey than by having the supplier's boyfriend as part of her entourage?
I'm guessing the beelzejuice is mead, a type of alcohol made from honey.
That would be some great synergy.
Gluttony is far from just eating Gluttony is considered closely tied with the other sins. Gluttony actually takes many forms because it's really more about stimulation rather than eating. That's why "glutton for punishment" is a phrase from my understanding. There for it makes perfect sense she needs the party goers to feel happybecause shebasically can only get by through her day when she's being joyously stimulated. AKA she needs the party to be good, or else she can't feel good.
Also honey is bee vomit
Hope this one isn't produced the same way 😆
It took me way too long to realize Queen Bee was Beelzebub. The bee pun was staring me in the face the entire time.
Looking like a insect dog threw me too for a bit. But how she talked about belphrgore and satan confirmed that she’s beelzebub. The credits did say she was
Yeah, don't feel embarrassed, cause I didn't figure that out until I read your comment so thanks.😅
Me too, bro
Yeah I didn't expect that as Beelzebub but it works
Didn't she mention beelzebub as like a whole different person? Or maybe I'm not remembering it right
I understand that the part where Loona is convinced to go back to the party by a single compliment is a little jarring for most people, but as someone who has struggled with self-esteem issues this is a very real moment. It doesn't matter how much you're emotionally beat down and how unwanted you feel, all it takes is that little sprinkle of validation to get going again. All Loona wanted was to make friends and feel welcome, but every time she did so she was shut down; either by that poodle girl who just wanted to get Loona riled up, or by Loona taking a massive blow to her self esteem after seeing her crush with the literal QUEEN of Gluttony. Of course, everyone goes through things differently but from my personal experience, this scene makes sense because Loona was finally getting the attention she was craving and wanted to have it continue.
Also because she is a big fucking Simp for big Hellhounds .
Hmmm emotions are definitely complex and acts differently for other people, so it’s not too far fetched that she did an immediate 180 here
exactly how I felt regarding her visit to the vet/dr. others bashed/were upset that Loona didn't talk, but, as a kid, I was absolutely terrified of the doctors (and admittedly, still am) so her not speaking at all during it feels right to me.
Yup, I've had the same experience before.
Is anyone going to point out that Loona didn’t back down on their conflict with Bee until they saw how uncomfortable Tex was?
i saw that yeah, maybe tex knew what could happened if loona didnt back down.
So Bee is the sin of gluttony. Her song makes SO much sense now. "I'm what you want, not what you need."
Her behavior too.
She wants people to indulge and do the things that are wrong. She encourages people with a kind vibe. Making them take too much of anything, food, drinks, drugs. Gluttony straight up in your face, no need to hide, And people over looked that. I love it!
Her design is very impressive considering Gluttony is the resemblance of lard and grotesque obesity. I hope it reveals later that her motives is too fatten her guests to the point of passing out then later eating them. Kind of like a Wasp
@@Uta_Chandra.HSounds like some Little Nightmares sh-…
that is something I don't want to happen.
@@Uta_Chandra.H Nah. Gluttony just wants you to do what makes you happy.
It's the sin of enjoying life, rather than worrying about your "spirituality"
It's basically the number one opponent of ascetics.
Which is why it's totally my circle.
Isn’t Bee feeding off the energy at the party, though? To make her honey? She has a line about how she’ll keep giving them candy if they’ll just keep making her that sweet, sweet honey-and I figured that’s why it was such an issue that Luna called someone a bitch. Not because of the word, but because she killed the vibe, and the vibes need to stay good. That doesn’t make Bee bad! She still seems to genuinely care about everyone there. But I did get the idea that as the queen of gluttony, she’s feeding off of everyone’s gluttonous energy.
Yep, this is hell so of course the symbol of literal gluttony couldn't be all selfless and things like that, it's interesting how she's pretty chill but has a way of doing things that she has to obey
It's the empath paradox as I call it. Are they altruistic for helping people when they sense pain, are they self serving because they don't like the mental taste of pain, or is is muddier?
Ohhh loona calling that girl a bitch makes more sense now. i thought that it was normal to say that at parties or to defend yourself but yeah this context makes sense now.
I think its the same for ozzie, he also feeds off of other people's lust so that's why he tried to stop moxxie when he was singing about love
@@kitsuujujitsuu4025As Blitzo put it, Moxxie and Millie are in a greyer area with regards to that because they have an intense lust for each other.
@@karlthorkildson4650 they do but in that moment they werent so thats why it was an issue. If moxxie just sang about lust ot wouldve been fine
I honestly don't know why people were complaining about her design. She still has enough bee like elements that you get she's insect themed without having to be a literal bee.
Our complaints are justified
the elements are there but its still hard to read because of the Canine aspect being as strong as it is I honestly didnt realise this was Beelezebub until way later which is not kinda good when asmodeus was very very clearly displayed with his stance and size sure it makes sense for Bee to not be massive but like make the same thing Ozzy had with the no pupils the general glowing, maybe also not fully needed playing into typical gluttony depiction with adding some fullness
idk its just kinda hard to realise who she is but when you do you notice why it was hard to realise
@@jakoblent4694you can't really compare her "default" form to Asmodeus' demonic form. Asmodeus and Bee were only in his smaller form and demonic form respectively for one scene each.
@@uniwolfgamer1094 okay but even of we talk the minor form ozzy kept alot of elements in that Form he has in his big Form like the pimp Coat or the glowy eyes with no pupil
I kind of wanted her to be a Fly, as Beelzebub is famously known as, but I'm fine with Bees. The really weird part is the fact she's also a hound is down right weird imo.
I found it heartwarming when Loona was cheering Blitz in the drinking contest and proudly shouts out "THAT'S MY DAD!" Even though he was a little drunk, the smile on Blitzo's face upon hearing that just shows how much it means the world to him. After everything that went down at "OZZIE'S", he needed that 😍
I actually thought that the reason Luna wanted to stay was because the moment Blitzo arrived, she calmed down enough to reconsider staying. I actually saw it as a sign of how comfortable she is with him around, even if she doesn't realize it. Also, this episode helps add some really wonderful context to the scene when Luna is talking to Octavia about dad stuff. Very endearing.
I also saw her response to the randos as actually seeing them as on or beneath her level, and thus not people she needs to feel intimidated by.
Bee is so chill, like I understand how Loona is interpreting what she's saying as sarcastic when its really not- Loona just has too many walls, and the fact she's with Tex probably doesn't help. But Bee is genuinely a breath of fresh air, not only is her design just AMAZING and so cool and creative, her personality is great, charming and genuinely concerned about other's wellbeing in a deeper way than just keeping her party alive.
yeeah her design looks just like one of the characters from zoophobia!! and the fetch reference omg
While Beelzebub works in the context of this episode to contrast to Luna, her being so cool creates a problem. How can someone this is charitable, unironically cheerful, and non-toxic achieve leadership in one of the circles of Hell? At least, Vivziepop’s vision of Hell. She feels more in line with what CHARLIE wants to turn Hell into. Certainly Queen Bee’s aesthetic is more hedonistic, and she certainly doesn’t seem to care about anyone reaching up. But the urge to just help everyone, and being so empathetic to their needs? It feels like she’d be helping FUND the Happy Hotel.
@@jiado6893None of what you described sounds like a problem. We don't know what she or the other Princes think of Lucifer's family and never had any reason to think they thought it was a bad idea. Never once has a Hellborn ever spoken of the Happy/Hazbin Hotel on screen. We only saw what the sinners, the Earthborn turned demons all *stuck* in the Pride Ring, thought of Charlie's idea. They all think they're beyond redeeming.
I def feel like Bee is joining Via in the camp of characters that can be Loona's friends if she'll let them.
@@jiado6893 I mean, maybe she will? or would, whatever. The story of the pilot of Hazbin Hotel happens in just a few hours, maybe the sins would want to help the hotel, while they are not affected directly by the overpopulation, there no reason Bee and Bell (Belphegor), the second being the one who sells antidepressants and seems to runs hospitals, could not give their support
2 things:
- Loona calling Blitzø dad is one of the most wholesome things ever. I'm glad she finally allowing herself to admit she saw him as her father.
- It's honestly shocking but refreshing how Bee is actually rather empathetic instead of being just another antagonist. Her personality tells you she might be bratty and stuff but no, stan Bee!
Love this episode.
Until season 2 episode 2, where she was beating him and kicked him in the balls.
@@valentinkambushev4968 stop.
Yeah I thought Bee was gonna be a mean girl, but she actually turned out to be a pretty sweet person, just really hyper. All she wanted to do was make sure everyone at her party was enjoying themselves.
@MrXemnas1992 What? He has a point. As good as the episode is on its own, it does have some flaws story wise. It probably would have been better if they had never addressed Ozzie's as part one.
@@MrXemnas1992they make a totally fair point, we finally saw a sweet side of loona. We get to see her treating blitzo like more than a punching bag. This was a really good episode , and then they threw it away and made her physically assault blitz 2 episodes later.
They actually got KESHA FLIPPING KESHA and made her a literal party wolf befitting her and song that matches her in everyway possible, bonus for Loona showing her softer side.
That was actually a really good episode. It balanced the right amount of jokes with the right amount of seriousness. I also liked bees character and her sinking was amazing.
Her sinking into her own pool of Beezle juice, or whatever that honey stuff is, was amazing.
:D
The fact kesha is such actually a great VA
I thought Kesha only wrote the song?
Beelzebub’s singing voice was done by someone else, yes, but Kesha co-wrote the song *and* voices the character
Bee instantly became my favorite character in the show. Sucks we probably won’t see her again if the legal issues keep popping up but it would be cool to see her again
Bee is definitely returning… she’ll just be voiced by Rochelle, instead. 🫠☠️🐶
I love that Bee isnt just hot, but shes genuinley really nice! She tried to help Loona feel included, she took her loss to Blitzø like a champ, and she was actually concerned when he over did it and wanted to help. Shes just a hyper extrovert who loves to throw parties so people can have a great time. And the fact that shes voiced by Kesha is just the cherry on top! I absolutely ADORE her!
Not to be rude but how many videos have you commented this comment.
Yay! Its like the series isn't even set in Hell anymore!
...wait a minute...
I think Bee IS actually feeding off her guests' emotions but not in a sinister way. I feel like she could do it in a sinister way but prefers to just give people a good time while doing so, not really harming anyone (I also think that Tex is also generally the kind of BF that's a good influence on you and makes you a better person in general (which is probably also the reason why he works for Verosika and doesn't rely on Bee's influence to get a better paid position somewhere 'cause he doesn't wanna take advantage of her), so maybe that plays a little part in her behavior and she used to be a bit more, not necessarily sinister, but less considerate towards her guests).
She's a bee, she's drinking the nectar (good vibes) and turning it into honey (bee-lze juice)
I think it's like with Santa Claus in the movie "Rise of the Guardians". The more kids believe in him, the stronger he is. Same with Bee here
I think Bee definitely is the closest to having a symbiotic relationship between her and the demons of hell, she provides them what they want, and in return they give her what she needs to feed her parties, business, and gluttony
Loving the character foils for the cast in this show
Stolas/Ozzie
Blitz/Fizz
Moxxie/Striker
Loona/Beelzebub
Millie/lack of air time
Millie will have her time to shine. If I'm not wrong it's the next one.
Millie/A character trait beyond loving Moxie
@rach3092everyone is a badass in this show, even Stella
(OK, maybe not Stella, but the point still stands)
@rach3092 with stolas as her father?
I don't buy it, that girl 100% has some insane hidden powers inside of her just waiting to be discovered
Millie/Her Parents & Moxies Dad lol
Ok, now I think „Ozzie’s” and „Queen Bee” are my favourite episodes. It’s nice seeing Loona actually cares and is really relatable.
Loona being unable to socialize at the hellhound party and sticking close to Vortex was the most relatable thing of the episode, i felt her on a truly personal level...
I also think the reason that Bee can date a hellhound so easily, is that she connects herself with Hellhounds in her appearance. Like... Hellhounds/Dogs have a symbolism of being Gluttonous. "Drunk as a dog" etc Dogs eating everything "get that out of your mouth" so maybe Bee isn't taken seriously as her peers because of her overindulgence. I also think that she chose her form of a hellhound herself because she sees them as gluttonous creatures and fun for her to be around compared to the other beings in hell.
And in a way they’re kinda proving her right
Plus some Dogs will eat so much they vomit, and then eat the vomit, if that's not gluttony I don't know what is. (And honey is bee vomit)
There's also the fact that Dante's Divine Comedy (which pretty much established the idea of levels of hell depending on sins) put Cerberus in the ring of Gluttony. So Gluttony/Hound connection was there already in all the sources Viv took inspiration from.
Vivzie confirmed that Bee is part Fox part Bee.
She's also supposed to represent the animal tamer of Lucifer's circus troupe.
So yeah.
Glutton means, contrary to what the fanboys think, habitual greed or excess in eating.
Bee doesn't show either of these.
She's a deadly sin but in name only, and that annoys the hell outta me.
Queen Bee being the party host makes sense. She's the embodiment of Gluttony, so making sure everyone has everything they could ever want is exactly in her wheelhouse.
That's PRIDE. Not gluttony.
@@abloogywoogywoo No.... that's gluttony....are u mental?

The unspoken rizz of Vortex is clearly unmatched.
How did a hellhound pulled one of 7 rulers of hell.
And Stolas getting shat on for dating an Imp.
Its like, the main characters can't get a break.
@@abloogywoogywooFrom what it looks like, the Queen Bee doesn't care for keeping up appearances as a ruler nor cares for who she is seen hanging around with (the entire party is filled with hounds and imps). So of course her dating a hellhound isn't a big deal, cause the environment she's in doesn't see it as a big deal. It's normal for them.
Stolas, on the other hand... what stops him from openly declaring his love for an imp is the invisible rules of classism. Where he lives, it's too out of the norm for a low class demon to mingle with a higher class demon. It will always be an uphill battle for the main characters to love freely because everybody around them doesn't believe in loving freely.
Maybe if Stolas and Blitz moved to the Gluttony ring, they wouldn't have to worry about hiding their relationship. That is, if they still have a relationship.
@@lostkey7301 that sounds more like Sloth, than Gluttony.
@abloogywoogywoo Well everyone only started flaming Stolas once Asmodeus called him out. I doubt they would've done the same out of the blue with no prompting, given Stolas could've smited them all right then and there.
@@lostkey7301 Also, do you realize Bee is higher up the totem pole than Stolas? And the gulf between her and Vortex is far greater than Stola and Blizto?? Its more scandalous not less, but that's where bad writing and poor worldbuilding gets us - double standards "where its okay when we bigshots do it, but how dare our main buttmonkey characters do it and think they can escape drama!".
When Beelzebub first appeared I though she ruled a cult and that song was for keeping making honey but she never forced Loona or anyone to make honey
Its probably related to the enjoyment of the guests at her party somehow generating the honey.
Yeah all those legal issues with Kesha's recording studio bring a pain and her splitting with them only 2 days before this dropped makes so much sense for the delay. Also, something I noticed is that Bee, being the embodiment of Gluttony, takes everything in like an overpowered empath. That's how she could tell Blitz was hurting and why she mirrored Loona's aggression so hard. Honestly, Tex's generally upbeat attitude probably helps Bee balance out or else all the negativity of just being in hell would be overwhelming
This.
Asmodeus has lied Infront of the entirety of hell about his stance on love and relationships, saying that lust is all that matters. He literally did a whole song and dance about it. If the truth leaks, he'll be railroaded even harder than Stolas was. Plus, Bee has been nothing but open about everything, surrounding herself and becoming friends with the lowest members of the pecking order.
I believe that Bee has the ability to change forms. Like her natural form is that of an insect or something, but she changes forms depending on other demons. She is dating Tex and the party is filled with almost Hell Hounds, so she changes her form to fit that.
Demons can transform from a normal form to a bigger scarier form. Like Stolas turning into a large black version of himself, alastor turning terrorfying, Charlie growing horns.
Mimetism
YES
That isnt a ability specific to her
@@dampsoccwell yeah but they were just saying this probably isnt her true form that its just her mirroring people around her because shes extroverted

It's so awesome that they hired Kesha for an episode, I remember a long time ago when Vivzipop made the "Die Young" music video animation so it seems like it really inspired this episode. She even looks similar to the wolf character in the old animation. She's actually kinda wholesome so far too for a ruler of a ring of hell, not to mention Kesha is SUCH a good voice actor. 💯 (And dont think i didnt see the "Mean girls" reference in here too.)
I incredibly love how fast Blitzø arrived to pick up Loona. Maybe impossible since both were two rings apart, but even in deep sadness and a broken state, he would be there for Loona in a heartbeat.
This was probably one of my favourite episodes because it felt like everything had time to breathe. There weren't too many big or important things going on that would just go by in a flash so things had time to develop/progress in a way that I find most episodes struggle with. Plus getting a proper few moments with Loona and Blitzø was cute.
I fully believe that line of "Your supposed to keep things that bring you joy" is a dig at Loona for being adopted. My theory is that she was constantly adopted and brought back to the orphanage.
Oh no, you could be right. Poor Loona.
Ooof.
OH FUCK WAS THAT HER FORMER FOSTER SISTER.
Probably not but that'd be some wacky stuff
@@KingsBardBIG conclusion you got there but definitely interesting too! Tho it doesn’t explain how Loona didn’t immediately take notice to who the demon poodle was you know?
@@fluffycorn_0wO I honestly believe both were in the orphanage and that she got adopted to a wealthy group vs loona who got adopted and brought back so many times til blitz
I'm glad that Loona finally got her own episode, It was nice to see her getting out and mingling with other Hell Hounds even though some of them were jerks.
Vivziepop made an animated music video from a Kesha song (Die Young) during the Zoophobia era, but now Kesha played Queen Bee. It seems like Vivienne is living the dream.
One scene I really liked was after Loona admits to her faults and leaves to check on Blitz you can see Bee frown for just a slit second after Loona leaves, you can tell just by her body language she is thinking, "Oh no, I hope she is fine." You can tell by her facial expressions that she is legitimately worried about Blitz and she feels for Loona. It is (At least in my opinion) a perfect example of show and don't tell. As for the episode, I can agree that it was 100% worth the wait.
In all honesty, i could relate to Loona on an extreme personal level in this episode with her social anxiety, ive gone to a middle school party alone before and it resulted in me crying in the bathroom then leaving because i was too scared to talk to anyone. Im so happy to see this fear portrayed in one of my favorite shows!
She wasn't smitten with a random, her confidence was boosted by the random guy since she doesn't go out and do much, that isn't normal for her and is a new high.
That’s a good way to put it, it felt off when I first saw the episode but with this perspective it makes sense
Still im sure they couldve done a better job explaining that because like the comment above said, it makes sense in THAT perspective, but the writers didnt GIVE us THAT perspective.. YOU had to make it make sense, but they should be the ones to make it clear to make it cohesive.
@@boop3nowurded538 the other perspective didn't make sense with what they showed, and the look she gives guy 2 is VERY differently animated from guy 1. While I realize anime and calarts have set the trend of explaining everything in words, I like shows that trust the audience to figure it out. I would rather this than be treated like an idiot by a show.
@lowfatlatte0 im not saying they need to talk, but to just s h o w it. They didn't do much to s h o w us. Loona doesnt have to talk in her mind or anything, but just give us a few seconds of suggestive gestures to her attitude. It happened too fast..
@@boop3nowurded538 sounds like a you problem
The fact that not even 24 hours had passed since the episode dropped and there's already fan edits, cosplay and art of Queen Bee tells me she is going to be an absolute fan favorite. And it's SO warranted everything about her is incredible!
My mind was the most blown by Bee's lava lampian hair, tail and midsection. Like, how does a person or group of people make the magic goo undulate like it does while Bee is spinning and flying around? When I think of this episode, my first thought will probably be something like 'Oh yeah, isn't it cool that Kesha can do pretty much whatever is fun for her now?'
If you noticed, Bee was one of the first to try to catch Blitz when he started to fall.
14:07 Loona also probably realized that she stands no chance against the embodiment of gluttony and one of the most powerful beings in hell.
And Queen B is hands down probably my single favorite character design this show has made so far. And she has a fun character to match. Someone who's a party animal and actually a pretty sweet girl despite being the embodiment of one of the Seven Deadly Sins. Not to mention a great musical number. Nice to see Loona actually getting along with other people too (albeit with some hurdles) and I found it weirdly cute when she held onto her tail when she was nervous. It's always great to see more emotional range out of her.
Also, I noticed the name Hunter Braly in the credits. Is he related to Matt Braly by any chance?
its interesting she seems to cater to the lower denizens of hell since she dates a hellhound and the party seems to be mostly hellhounds and imps. She also seems to feed off the indulgence and excess and is empathic with those she draws from so it makes sense she would want to have positive vibes for whatever reason be it genuine enjoyment a the vides literally killing her own mood or if you can't indulge if you indulge yourself to death
If I had to guess, that "Keep things that bring you joy" line was probably where she was RETURNED to the pound.
It'd be one thing to grow up there your entire life, but to get sent back because of your personality would definitely compound the trauma and make it harder to open up. Especially if you liked the previous adopter.
Honestly, Tex and Bee's relationship and by extension, Charlie and Vaggie's relationship makes me wonder if dating lower ranking demons is taboo to all Hell denizens or just the Goetias.
Hear me out, majority of the imp fucking shaming comes from the Goetias. Stella complains abt Stolas fucking an imp, Andrealphus thinks its weird that Stolas would divorce Stella over an imp (Im not saying Blitz is the main reason but the affair was definitely the straw that broke the camel's back), Stolas makes a point to hide his relationship with Blitz from his peers (yes, he announced it to Stella and friends but to be fair, she was embarassing him first by loudly making fun of him at their own anniversary party, it was only fair he embarassed her with an affair with an imp). We cant exactly use the headline abt Fozzie cuz that could be interpretted as Asmodeus being outted as a wholesome lover when he was shaming Moxxie for being wholesome to Millie at his club
The only one outside of the Goetias to shame them is Wally and thats it. Other imps dont care, hell, Millie openly admitted her imp boss is seeing a Goetia with Striker thinking Blitz is just using Stolas and being impressed. Hell, Stolas was being openly affectionate to Blitz in two occations in imp-dominated areas and no imp cared
Charlie, Hell's princess, is even dating a sinner, not even an Overlord, just a sinner. Unless Hazbin reveals that Chaggie's hiding their relationship and Luci and/or Lilith disapproves of Vaggie, it just looks like the Goetias are the only ones who have a problem with dating lower ranking demons
I agree with you on this, seems like more of the lower/middle rank demons are the ones who actually care about public image and the whole drama of having an affair with a demon of a lower rank. There's only a minor clarification, Ozzie and Bee are also Goetias, in both of their musical numbers they show their ars Goetia seal.
Well sinners are above all non royal hellborns on the totem pole so it's alot smaller of a gap
@@idiotgaming6376 Ye but Vaggie is still pretty low on the totem pole compared to Charlie. Think of it as Vaggie being in middle class, not poor but still a commoner and wouldnt be expected to be dating a princess
@@ifeeldead463 this is true I'm.just saying it's less of a gap then a imp or hellhounds where done don't classify them as even people
Well said!
I need a serious friendship between Loona and Bee and Vortex. Or even a throuple
Idk about a throuple lol
"Dad what are you doing?"
"ThIs GuY!"
Literally one of my favorite lines in the show lmao
Literally insane they got KESHA to play this role and then couldn't even post the episode
That’s probably _why_ they couldn’t post the episode.
@@shadamyandsonamylover yeah I know, I just mean imagine going through the whole effort to organise something so special and then you can’t upload it unless you give up on that thing entirely
For me, Loona wanting to stay at the party was less about one guy flirting with her and more about her low key feelings more comfortable and confident when Blitz is around her
It was kinda hard to tell. She did call blitz to pick her up. She was fully intent on leaving up until that moment
I’m surprised people didn’t know it was Kesha right away. To me she has one of those unique voices that I can recognize right away. That I wasn’t surprised why this episode too so long to come out due to copyright reasons and her being in it makes a lot of sense. As for them having her on, I guess I’m also one of the few who wasn’t too surprised to have her on either. Like they had a few famous voice actors so is it that surprising they can have famous singers too?
So ya I wasn’t surprised of her showing up or the copyright reason, but I did enjoy this episode. I understood how Loona was feeling by not knowing anyone there as I been there myself but then eventually warming up later on.
well it was not her for the song
When I first heard Cotton Candy, I immediately got Ke$ha vibes, and while she didn’t sing the song herself, it was crazy to know that she voiced Queen Bee.
The only "return to form" thing I actually adore about this episode of Helluva Boss is the art style, because the SECOND I saw Bee I instantly matched it to the Die Young animation Viv did so many years ago and it just FEELS like her art in a way and to me that brought back a whole lot of nostalgia and I believe its more of a feel good kinda art/character style that I greatly enjoy.
I honestly find Bee to be such a fun and refreshing character. She's both fun and testy when she needs to be, but never an uncaring person.
Beautiful episode, I'm glad Loona made friends and good on her for trying to socialize. Gave me myself vibes when she wanted to leave. Everything about Bee was amazing, Tex staying by Loona trying to make sure she had a good time was comforting. Surprisingly a lot of Hellhounds and Imps were nice and inviting. I loved how both of them cared enough for Loona to check on Blitzø without being bitchy. Loona was just on auto defense mode.
I was screaming in my room over this one, total banger worth the wait 100%, another work of art from Vivzie. One of the things I most appreciate is how Bee-lezebub is being potrayed not only as a powerful woman but as a real person, yeah she is the queen on the gluttony ring but she is a queen on the people, she dates vortex for god sakes. Love her character, and the song was killer. Also, the fact that Vivian actually got KESHA to guest star in this is honestly huge.
It truly is impressive that she was able to get Kesha to be part of her show. I can’t imagine how much that must’ve cost her. I love her character’s design and her song is a joy to both listen and watch!
I look forward to buying plenty of Queen Bee-zlebub merch!
I love how bee is just so chill and cool and genuinely wants her subjects to have a good time
Haha great review also love ya throwing my chiaotzu bit lol
When ever I need a great “wait what?” Gif it’s just to good not to use. Also I ADORE your cover of Blizzard🤣
@@SarcasticChorus Aw thx dude! Much love! 💖
"I feel like I could outdrink the demon prince of gluttony" is my new response to the ever annoying question of "how are you doing?"
I will say I think Bee is both sweet but still also an "evil" Prince of Hell and Gluttony.
1) During the song she says "keep making me that fucking honey" as she tosses some dogs into a font of punch that seems to have psychedelic properties.
2) She says she's "high on this tasty energy" and can "taste the flavor of everyone here".
I think she's "sweet" bc that's her favorite flavor so that's what she wants her subjects to give her by encouraging them to over indulge in sweets and positive vibes. There are a few short moments where she has an evilish smile when the partyers are indulging. Her gimick is bees, honey/ lava lamp, and sweets.
While not wholly "evil" she is encouraging overindulgence and may selfishly be pushing sweet vibes bc that's what she likes. She may even understand that going overboard is bad for her in the long term, hence why she encourages Loona to get Blitz out of there. If he has too much, he may get too sick and not indulge again.
So yea I think she can be both genuinely sweet but still be the Prince of Gluttony
In the credits; It says Kesha didn't actually sing 'Cotton Candy' the actual singer is named: Rochelle Diamante.
But it was still cool that Kesha was able to to the non-singing voice of queen bee!
The wild part of this episode is that Ke$ha herself voices Bee but she is not the one doing her song and the fact is that they brought her on and didn't even have her sing. What a flex. Rochelle Diamante is the voice from the song.
Episode 8 was a fitting end for the shows first season! It was awesome to see Beelzebub make her official debut in the series, I really like her design it's absolutely stunning! And so far she seems to be the nicest of the sin characters that have been introduced in the show which makes me hope we see more of her in the future!
And it was a real treat to see Vortex again after all this time since his debut in episode 3 of season 1! And it kinda figures that his gf would be the ruler of one of the rings of hell. Speaking of which it was interesting and epic to see what a hound party is like in this series it makes me think that if I were a character in Helluva Boss I'd totally be down to party in the Gluttony rings!
But anyway the wait for episode 8 was definitely worth it, Viv and crew did such an outstanding job bringing the episode to life an absolute 10/10 for them!!!
Fun fact the singing was actually Rochelle Diamante, and the voice acting was Kesha 👍🏾
Edit: 😅 I made this as soon as the video came out. Lol
Its not really a fun fact if its stated in the video you are commenting on.
He says that in the video-
Tell me you didn't finish watching the video without telling me you didn't finish watching the video
Luna is just like Gwen ( total drama series) the shy goth girl trying so hard to find true happiness and turns around and gets hurt at the end of the road the the characters are ridiculously identical from moods, attitude, and style and the shear thickness of Luna's legs are in shorts and dress and they even spot almost the same choker
Probably drew inspiration from
as someone who grew up in foster care....yeah I felt that line hit harsh about 'keeping things that mnake you happy'
when soemone knows you were a foster kid and they DONT like you they use that to drive a fucking knife into you to tell you "you're unwanted' and damn does it hurt every time
Honestly this is one of my favorite episodes. My only problem with it was just how repetitive the song is, but it’s still really good. Also I just love the amount of colors this has :]
Being honest this is why I love indie animators and believe we need to keep supporting them. They are able to make gold and have some of the best known people in their show
So technically, this episode was out before Season 2 was made, and was only able to be released now due to legal reasons... damn, glad it finally came out, and extra glad Kesha doesn't have to deal with a shitty contract anymore.
This episode was worth the wait. Great seeing a Loona centric episode showing more depth to her already amazing character, Bee has an awesome design and definitely has more layers than one would expect, Vortex is a genuinely chill and cool dude who is a good friend to Loona, and Blitzø proves once again that he's a good father to Loona and also the ultimate party animal.
This is Helluva Boss at its finest. And as a massive Loona fan, this episode is probably my new favorite. Thank you Vivziepop and Erica Lindbeck for giving so much love and life to my favorite Hellhound!
“How many times have you hit replay on Cotton Candy?”
DONT CALL ME OUT-
Just thought about it now, but given that Loona grew up in what was essentially an orphanage, maybe the poodle lady knew that and "you're supposed to keep things that bring you joy" is a dig at her maybe having some adoptions that fell through before Blitz
Edit: lol you beat me to it
I think it's just crazy how they get these different voice actors who have been on other big shows, it's amazing
This episode retroactively makes Seeing Stars an even bigger fuck up of an episode than it already was. Every single moment between Blitzo and Loona have is ruined by the fact that she would go on to beat the absolute shit of Blitzo just a couple episodes later.
YES THANK YOU, SOMEONE SAID IT
Yup, exactly this!
Bro you serious? I mean, the fact that she was nice to him once doesn't mean she has to be nice to him for the rest of eternity. She was nice to him at the end beacuse she could see he went through a lot and needed it, she won't just automatically change after one nice moment.
@@3dsunk295 I’m not saying she has to be nice to him forever, it’s still major whiplash.
Besides, I feel her portrayal in Seeing Stars was just bad writing considering she never once got physical with Blitzo before besides a light shove when he was embarrassing her. Like she actively dislikes Moxxie and has never physically assaulted him worse than she did Blitzo.
@@cordyceps7531 yeah that is kinda true lmao
I was watching Vivzie pop 7 years ago, her animated music video is probably why I started watching her channel. I loved Kesha. To see Vivienne be able to comes so far is inspiring.
3:35 wait. oh my GOD. luna was presumably abandoned by her biological parents, which is why she was found by blitzo in the pound. "you know, you're supposed to keep things that bring you joy". that is the BIGGEST yikes possible. i don't blame her for being upset.
I know that Viv wants to keep the shows main characters and story beats separate but i truly hope that whenever Hazbin Hotel comes out that Charlie is a fan of Bee, since she's probably one of the only good role models of hell probably.
Ok but seriously that character design they made for her was 🔛🔝
Fun fact: Kesha voiced the character. But Didn't sing the song.
She did write the song aswell
I honestly love bee so much like she was one of the most wholesome characters in this show and she is one of the seven deadly sins is crazy
as someone who relates to loona at that age i can aboslutely see the 180 spin she did from crushed to ready to go back, she went from having to play the game of flirting and tryingto get the tex prize, only to realize that she never actually had a chance, to suddenly BEING the prize, having been in similar situations it def can change your whole night to go from "i never stood a chance with this person and im the least desirable thing on the planet" to "oh shit someone thinks im top shit and wants me"
they have def had some tonal problems before but this is one i just vibe with and know is less a writer issue more just.....thats how emotions be sometimes
I hope once she gets out of her contract with her record label she releases a new album/song, I'd buy it on principal. What an amazing person.
I really liked Bee in this episode. The design, personality, the voice and the song fit together perfectly. I know its not likely with her being voiced by Kesha, but I really hope we'll get to see her again in a future episode.
I spent the whole episode waiting for the part where Queen B tries to humiliate Loona in some way or reveal something creepy/sinister about the party, as we saw in Ozzies.
Instead everything that felt wrong about just came back to Loonas anxiety, meaning there was nothing wrong with the situation other than how Loona reacts to it. Now that is good writing.
I do feel like it’s the underdog factor Helluva boss is the first majorly successful fan indie adult animation project not headed up by any famous creators or service.
To me it stands alongside Bojack Horseman with its quality in writing, voice acting and more but once it’s popularity blew out it soon lost that underdog factor.
Being the new popular thing everyone now wants to hate to feel different it happens all the time from the force awakens, to classic video games and other movies and shows.
I am extremely happy for Vivize getting her idol to not only appear in her show but write a song and maybe at one point song it; there is some audio stuff during the middle of the song where the voice audio acts up possibly splicing in for a brief second of the original version with Kesha singing.
But this was a fun episode and glad it was finally able to come out
Did you notice that in trailer for Helluva boss s2 in the first scene when loona says “these people seem to know you” there’s no one in the window but in the episode there are
Bee is throwing parties with hellhounds and has a very hellhound-like design. So while it is odd that she is dating a hellhound, It somewhat makes sense.
I also LOVE the hellhound character designs. Like look at 15:26. He just looks so coolll
Hearing kesha immediately sent me back to My middle school year's 🤣🥲
you first!
Probably the part that hit me the most was the ending before the throw up
I think Bee is a type of fox, more specifically similar to a Fennec Fox. Like her ears and her design reminds me of that and it would make sense that since she’s one of the 7 sins she would be similar to a hellhound but not one
Beelzebub does feed off of the emotions of people at her parties....I think that may be why she encourages them to binge and have fun. That may be her favourite flavour.
Same with Asmodeus and his insistence on lust in Ozzie's events. I think they all do it to some degree.
