The first 5 feet of this burnout are in 1st gear to warm the tires, then turn the steering wheel to 9:00 and shift to 2nd. Turning the wheel gives you less traction on the rear tires. When you shift to 2nd, redline it before dropping the clutch. Dont take your foot off the gas. You have to stay wide open. That's how you get on top of the tires in 2nd gear. Once you're on top of the tires, they turn mushy and it's easier to keep them spinning.
Best mustang video. My favorite. The sound this car makes and the power it displays. Like some one said this should be a official mustang advertisement.
@@fcukugimmeausername yes they are, cheap parts to fix and great aftermarket parts for upgrades, I own a 02 gt and literally only drive it on the weekends to shred tire
ploprodigy- I agree that a lot of American cars suck, but the V8 Mustang with manual transmission is an exception. If you live in America, and plan to abuse a car, without a lot of money to spend on repairs, the V8 Mustang is one of the best cars you can get. For the above scenario, the cost of ownership will be less money than probably any other car. to be continued.
Just bought a 03 gt im from the united kingdom and these are very rare here cant wait to upload some burnout videos :) this is my all time favourite video on youtube mustangs rule :)
99-02 Cobras have yellow markers on the tail lights right next to the back up lights, but the same size as the back up light markers. There were about 100 cobras made in 02 but were all sent to Australia, therefore no 02 cobras for 02 in the U.S.
I had a friend in high school who did that in busy intersections. He stopped 3 lanes of traffic in all directions. We used to do a lot of stupid things when we were young. Its too bad we didn't have cameras back then because we're too old for that stuff now ;)
It could definitely be stock. The '96 and up GTs had a 4.6 litre 302 CID that would tear that short little wheelbase around like a bat out of hell. They aren't a joke. And my buddy Mike had a '94 with the 5.0 litre, and with stock exhaust it still grumbled like a bear. I'd even go so far as to say that I'd rather have a GT from this generation than a Camaro.
Dude, chill out! It was a show for the camera. It's not like the car was driven like that every day. Just a great way to finish off some half done tires. It was all done for the youtubers amusement, so enjoy it. If it makes you feel better, you'll never see a video of this car doing anything crazy again.
Just to clarify, I'm not the driver, I wish I could take credit for this, but I was just the camera man. 2nd gear makes the tires spin faster. When they spin faster they smoke more. Plus you can brag about it! :-) Most cars can't carry a burnout to 50+mph. He was up to about 50mph actual speed when he let off the gas. he could have carried it further, but the parking lot ended.... 2nd gear burnouts are cooler than 1st gear burnouts
holy shit! If "real" FORD lovers (such as myself) saw this vid, they would all be "jawdroping" right now...that was amazing! If that was at a burnout comp, you;d have definitely won! 10/10 from me! MUSTANG & FORD POWER FOR LIFE!
right :) You must be used to front wheel drive cars, these cars come stock with a beefy rear end and clutch. That's why I have one. They take a beating WITHOUT breaking :)
The 4.6 doesn't have a lot of low end torque, so you have to rev it higher before you drop the clutch. I'd guess you should be able to do it in the 3000 to 3500 rpm range. A couple hints on technique: 1. Floor it, watch the RPMs go up, then drop the clutch. (still floored now) Once you're "on top" of the tires, moderate the gas to control RPMs. 2. When you let out the clutch, do it fast. It's much easier on your clutch to go fast than slow. (letting the clutch out slow will burn it).
Thats my car man, and for real the motor is 100% stock. having the stright pipes (allowing way more exhaust flow) and the trick flow plentum and 75MM TB made a night and day difference in the car. Before 4500rpms you could feel the car lose power, then after the mods it pulls till it hits the rev limiter. Plus it helps the car only has 30,000 miles
Ah. Thank you so much. That's exactly what I was looking for. I'm taking an Auto Tech class in my school for Votec. And I'm good at fixing anything on a car (hands on and whatnot), but I never actually KNEW what the numbers were for. So .. thanks :)
@bucks1234578 The mufflers were removed AND replaced with regular exhaust tubing, so the exhaust still exits out the tail pipes. (just removing the mufflers would make the exhaust exit somewhere underneath the car)
It's the cheapest exhaust you can get.... NONE! AKA straight pipes : ) Cut out the mufflers and weld normal exhaust tubing in their place. Most shops will do it for $100 - $150. I've been pulled over more times than I care to remember with this kind of an exhaust setup and cops dont say anything about it. What's funny is that you *would* catch trouble from cops if you drove a 4 banger that's equally loud. I think it's just because stangs sound good when they're loud and 4bangers don't.
This car has the OEM limited slip diff. The Ford friction additive actually makes the LS weaker. The pourpose of it is to make the car more drivable (reduce kink and bind noise of clutches slipping and gripping) while driving around corners. If you run Mobile 1 fluid you don't need the additive.
Me too! I just went to court for a careless driving ticket a week ago... I only did a burnout, no donuts, nobody around to endanger.... They wouldn't drop it to unnecessary acceleration because I have too many other tickets... WTF! Minnesota isn't far behind CA for stupid laws.
Awesome! My 2000 mustang gt sounds exactly like this. Flowmaster exhaust with 3.5 inch piping, 2 car delete, hpipe, no mufflers(straight pipe). Its maybe a $1200 setup. Atleast here in Hawaii where everything is over priced:)
We no longer have emissions testing in MN. Even when we did, my old 5.0 passed with flying colors (with no mufflers). Taking the mufflers off won't make the car pollute any more.
Dude, no harm intended. 4.10s can be fun if you don't mind high rpms on the highway. They might be overkill for a daily driver. I put 3.73s in the old mustang. The gas milage actually got better! And it was much quicker out of the hole (see video above with the gauges). My only regret was the higher rpms on the highway. They caused a constant drone that was annoying on long road trips. Now that I have a chance to do it over again, I'll probably put 3.55s in the '01 stang. Hope this helps.
The Mustang will stand up to a lot of abuse. If you break something, high quality after-market parts are often cheaper than OEM. Because of the RWD design they are easy to work on yourself which also reduces cost of ownership. The driver in this video has driven many hundreds of cars, yet he owns a Mustang. There is a reason.
Car was stock except for K&N air filter, Trick Flow plenum, and mufflers removed. Just put straight pipes in place of the mufflers. Most bang for the buck you can get with these cars. Engine keeps pulling hard all the way to the rev limiter. Stock ones fade after 4000 rpms. You don't lose any low end tq with this setup. Just don't get on it in front of cops, because it's abnormally loud -CP
hey thanks much aprechiated i really never thought about 3.55 373 were on the list i new 411 were high rpm but i was told that was what high way patrol ran. thanks for the info
03ulttra150- the exhaust was stock, except he had the mufflers cut out and replaced with a section of exhaust tubing. if you shop around you should be able to find a shop that will do it (welded install) for about $100. it's a lot louder than stock when you're on the gas, but not so loud that cops give you trouble for it (just dont do anything stupid in front of cops). This will give you more power than the most expensive mufflers and it's cheap too :-)

so you're saying allowing more air in the engine does not give you more horsepower? thats dumb what do you think all your bolt ons do. when you increase the airflow into the cylinder the gasoline has more explosion therefore increasing horsepower. Thats what throttle bodys intake plenums turbos and superchargers do but increasing airflow doesnt increase horsepower right.....
There was a slight misprint, it has a K&N Air filter, BBK 75mm TB, Trick Flow plenum, and mufflers replaced with straight pipes. Aside from that It's stock :)
yea, thats it. every brand has a different name for the LSD. Chevy calls it Positraction, Ford calls it Traction-lok, etc. I have a 2000 Ford Police Interceptor with 3.55 gears, dual exhuast, Trac lok, and no traction control. It does real nice burnouts but i haven't tried donuts b/c i don't want to mess it up.
This video is my friend's car. Mine had similar mods, but with stock exhaust exhaust. Mine dyno'd 282HP and 330TQ at the flywheel(see dyno video). The car in this video was always faster than mine, even at low RPMs. I'd guess his had 10-20 more ft/lbs of torque than mine, through the entire RPM range.
12 years later... I still come back to this jem of a video. My 02 GT is still my daily!
You still driving it? How many miles does your car have?
x2

Also, if you listen at 1:24 you can hear the driver say it's "Just a little 281" referring to the 4.6L engine, which displaces 281ci.
This should be an mustang advertisement lol best stang vid by far
i really like this video , and its the best burnout with a mustang that i ´ve seen, i really miss my mustang gt 2000
definatally the best era of mustang 4th generation baby
Now that was fucking cool

The best video on You Tube. I feel good knowing my 2004 GT 5 spd can do this 👏👏👍👍

dang this is my all time favorite video, love the sound of it, pretty cool u guys

thats exactly what i did after graduation. got me an 01 gt black, 5 spd. absolutly love it

that is the sickest stang bro love it wat kind of tires do u hav on it?
Nice ride, I should work on my Plymouth. BTW K&M filters?
The highest RPM clutch drops in this vid were at 5500-6000RPMs... Close to the revlimiter, but not hitting it.
right, it's just different ways to measure the same thing...4.6liter or 281 cubic inches...just like a 5.0 liter is also 302 cubic inches.
I will say that was very entertaining to watch... That car has some nice power, whats the ET in the 1/4?

wow that sweet thats all ur mods no cluch upgrades, rear end, ect?
K&N air filter
Trick Flow 75mm throttle body
Trick Flow Plenum
Straight Pipes (mufflers removed)
Bad ass burn outs that GT sounds Mean
dude make another video doing the same..that was badass
if u can send me some tips how to do this with out loosing control thanks good video

man, those were some sweet donuts. do u have trac lok?

sweet has the car been modified? as it sounds bloody awesome!!!!!! or is that just the pure sound of v8 muscle!
