For the portals a 5 to 8mm greater offset will solve the issue as well, letting you run any rim and gives a beneficial wider stance as long as ya don't go too wide, ha. But the truck looks great
Hi Matteo! As a "beginner" I still have some difficulty with the exact article designations, especially since they are apparently also not always and everywhere quite uniform.I am looking for the MST J45C "brass" for the axles, such parts as can be seen in the photos - and accordingly for the front + rear axle - and also the wheel drivers. Which ones fit? Is the chassis from the MST compatible with Axial (I, II or III) or another? I am also looking for corresponding bumper mounts for v+h. About the bumper you said in your J45C upgrade-video that these (integry) are the same as for the Axial 10 (I ?), right? I'll be very grateful for any tip & advice regarding my questions! And last but not least: I think that your RC Garage videos one of the best in the net - one of the best? No: THE best! Very informative and very sympathetically moderated. Thanks for that, too!! Kind regards
The brass weights in the axles are not interchangeable. Each Axial or MST or Traxxas axle is unique and you have to choose the parts to fit your axle. In my opinion you should only use wheel weights, they are much more compatible, or you use heavier wheels, like me, for example from Gmade. Yes, the bumper mount is the same as Axial, because the chassis rails have the same distance. But it's not plug and play, you have to drill holes in the chassis rails to mount it. These modifications always require a bit of drilling, cutting and trying to come up with a solution. But keep at it, it gets easier with a little experience. Have fun with it! 👍😊
These are great upgrades, good job there! But Matteo, I have been wondering now for a while about stabilizers / sway-bars for crawlers, for those relaxing moments when not off road. Watching your J45 drive over rocks and difficult terrain I cannot help noticing how the body sways left and right quite generously, it is a tall vehicle with high body and portals. But in real life this would not be acceptable. On Jeep YJ I've seen that the sway-bar can be disabled when going off road, to allow for greater suspension travel, however it is simply enabled when going on road again. Almost none of the crawler RC models have sway-bars installed. Have you tried it? Would you install sway bars front and rear, to accommodate a more intermediate driving, combining gravel roads with occasional rougher ground?
On the RC models sway bars not used in this category of cars. I think with a good adjusted damper setup this is not necessary. Real cars are much heavier and so the physics are much different. The stock dampers on this model were too soft, that's why I changed them. The new ones installed in this video are much better and as you can see it works much better now: ua-cam.com/video/TGRMx_FyQOU/v-deo.html
Hello Matteo! What KV motor size would your recommend for this MST CFX-W J45C? I’m looking at the Castle Creations CopperHead 10 crawler combo but they have multiple options 1900KV, 2280, 2850 and 3800kv. I’m not sure what to get. Any advice? Thank you
Very nice video I like the information on the portals too and like the rock beast tires they look great size on the fj45 do you know the height of the tires off hand thank you much
Thanks so much for telling Me the height of the tires About the size i like They look more scale when They that size and tread is Great too Thanks again
Hi Mateo love this truck unfortunately is impossible to find them in the US so I will built a trx4 Instead Integy bumper it is a great look but please please pleae adjust an add locite in every single screw specially the ones holding the bulbar and the sides of the winch It is a pain in the neck trying to put and hold them after you loose one of them in the trail

Hey Mateo awesome videos! I have a question about the black accent marks on the body. @0:41 Around the doors and the hood. Did you paint those from the inside or the outside? Did you use paint or a marker? Thank you
Thanks! I use self adhesive film, cut in fine lines. Here in this video you can see how i dit it: ua-cam.com/video/mJkqAo6jMkw/v-deo.html It starts at 8:30
Most of my rims in hand failed to fit the portal axle of CFX-W, the GMADE rims is a good choice, otherwise I have to use non-beadlock plastic rims...Perhaps those 2.2 rims is also a choice? if the 2.2 tyres not too big...
Davvero interessante..i tuoi video sono motivo d d'ispirazione e stimolo per apprendere cose nuove ,questo monster truck è una buona base per customizzare ma dove posso acquistarlo?
I think it is an interaction with the drive train (maybe the planetary gear) and the controller. The FOC control method causes jerky movements over obstacles. I don't have that with the classic controller from the Castle. It is smoother overall. On other vehicles the Xerun Axe works better.
Matteo's RC Movies Maby those jerky movements on onstacles can be much less if you turn on the RPM trothle matching in the app. I have that on in my MsT and it works all fine. Crawls like a best
Hi Matteo, great and good advise video upgrade of J45C and may I know that where to buy the front bumper mount and I try to search even look for scx10 as well but that's different with yours. Anyway thank you for your sharing😄🙏
An awesome rig that you have built there, Matteo. What I would really love to see is an in-depth review regarding longevity and performance of your absima sherpa down the line. That would be pretty awesome!
It will be very capable on the trails now Matteo!!!waiting for video.... !
Yes, it is! 👍😊
Very nice truck, and great advice on buying wheels for portal axles!
Thanks! Glad it was helpful! 👍😊
Looking forward to a new running video to see how are the upgrades are working out.
It will come, but I need a little more time...
Nice upgrades you have chosen for the vehicle :) There is something good to replicate.
Thanks! Glad it was helpfull! 👍😊
This truck looks tremendous - well done, Matteo!
Thanks so much! 🙏😊😊
Looks great Matteo should perform much better now, looking forward to seeing a running video.
Thanks David! Yes, it performs good! A video coming, but I need a bit of time... 👍😊
The beat lofts at you put on this particular vehicle they remind me of the Tamiya grasshopper three-piece plastic rims.
Yes, the old tamiya plastic rims were beadlocks, 30 years ago...
Nice video my friend. I like the suggestion on the wheels for the portal.

Hola Matteo
Do you know if the Integy mount @1:11 will fit the MST CFX Jimny J4 chassis? Thanks
No, this will not fit.
Hi Matteo, great review 👍... Mamba better than xerun?? 😳
I wanne know why to. I find the Axe combo slightly better bc of easy settings and good performance
Looks like we don't have the same definition of the word "upgrades"... I really prefer the AXE, too...

Yes, for the castle, we need to connect it to the PC, but so we can adjust more parameters as in the Xerun Axe.

Hobbywing hat R2 Versionen der Motoren und ESCs herausgebracht, die mit "low cogging" beworben werden. Eventuell macht das einen Unterschied.

There are ways to rid your rig 9f the detrimental camber that is oddly built into the mst. No camber on a crawler!
