  • Passion vs Aggression, how to minimize frustration when you practice guitar. Guitar Beginner Advice
    Back in february I had the huge honor to interview @soilwork at Schlachthof Wiesbaden! Sylvain and Simon - their two guitar players - are giving you advice on how to start on guitar, what to do when you struggle with progress and much more! Also Sylvain teaches me a Soilwork riff!
    Massive thanks to @NuclearBlastRecords for making this happen!

    OMG! Even though Pät from Silent Villge Creative Productions did finalize the cut, it took me 7h to do the finalization of the audio/video. Todays was indeed intense! Thank you so much to Leo from Nuclear Blast and to Sylvain and Simon for making this happen! I had a blast!

    Well, a video on Thursday? Super.
    Interesting interview. The two seem to be super nice, chilled guys. The best advice from the video, in my opinion, was to focus on your strengths and work on your weaknesses.

    That was SO COOL!! You must have had a blast! You asked great questions and Simon and Sylvain seem such nice guys. Some really good advice came out of this for the beginners among us. It is good to hear from such established musicians that passion, practise, feeling and good hearing still are the most important when it comes to making progress on guitar. I hope this video will be a motivation for guitar players that feel they are a bit stuck on developing their skills.

    A natural-born interviewer interviewers natural-born interviewees. You create such down-to-earth interviews and your guitar-based questions return insightful answers. As a lifelong learnerAsking bands about their learning and composition process fascinates me, but is rarely the main focus of interviews I've heard. The editing in the in-person LTR section was especially funny. It's really hard to play or learn "easy" riffs or melodies when other people are in the room, even more so when the people in the room are the band memebrs themselves. I even struggle trying guitars out in a shop. On the topic of learning, my lengthy motto is: "Frequent practice is the key to success. Adamance and stubborness are the key to perseverance when practice is monotonous or unbearable." P.S. I love red guitars too, and they're hard to find.

      @@frech_wie_Oskar I've just seen your post.
      I have a red Ibanez RG Genesis and I briefly had the red and flat black GIO, but I had to return the latter due to pickup problems. Nobody else has had problems with the GIO, so that was bad luck on my part!
      I've recently sold a red and black PRS SE (the sandblasted ash model) and an old black and red B C Rich Warlock.
      I've been looking at Schecter's and ESP's red guitars, including the ESP Arrow and Schecter Omen, as a replacement for the two guitars I've sold.
      I've been on and off for a long time, so I'd call myself an "advancing beginner" :D

    • @sarahkaroline1550
      @sarahkaroline1550 Рік тому +1

      @@frech_wie_Oskar I think GIOs feel, sound and look great , and they have the perfect neck dimensions for me. My beginner guitar was a 90s Squire that sounded, felt and looked terrible.
      I love pointy guitars even though BC Rich and V-shape guitars aren't ergonomic when I play them - they want to jab my collar bone or fall down :D
      I favour black or red guitars, but some other colours are okay too - playability should outweigh colour choice, I think. A perfectly green guitar, for example, would need a repaint in my opinion!

    great job of interviewing these guys Jassy. I love hearing all the sides to different bands, players etc. I worked in a music store years ago and any embarassment I had went out the window after having to demo any guitars anyone wanted to see/hear. It was hard as can be at first but I kept going and now it's not bad at all to play in front of anyone now. Thanks Jassy for all your insights into this music world. I have been playing for over 16 years now,been in bands and am in one now that I love I wasn't a pinky player but had to get over that lol.
