Fantastic video Jassy, Alex and Rolf, that was an awesome insight which had a lot of useful information in there. Have a great rest of the weekend 😀🤘🎵🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This was really insightful. Of course preparation before entering the studio is important to save time and money. It was good to see the use of multiple tracks to improve the stereo image and the use of re-amping (which is quite new to me) and what a difference that makes. Even from the camera you could hear how attention was made to make every instrument heard. My only problem with modern recording is that every thing is filled to the max and the number of tracks is huge compared to the past. The worst part for me is the over compressed sound where everything is like a wall of sound and there is no definition. Considering the technology available now, there is really no excuse for a badly mixed album, but you need the right people who understand how the various sounds interplay.
That was very cool. I always love seeing the technical side of things. I have no experience with studio recording whatsoever, but it's fascinating to me. It's awesome that they're using natural room reverb and an old-school analogue mixer. I guess software can't quite replace everything. :) . A ton of good info here. I think a lot of people have no idea what to expect the first time they record. This was really fun. I'd love more of this kind of thing. Sounds like a great song too. Proper thrash metal! \m/
That was a fun tour of an actual studio. That was a massive mixer board!!! I can't imagine how long it takes to learn to use that effectively and just to remember every little thing on there. sheee. Rock on Jassy!!
UA-cam recommended some sound engineering videos to me last summer and i ended up spending hours watching another 20. I haven't been into a studio and I'm not about to enter one, but learning about the process of recording music fascinates me, particularly the history of how sound recording has changed since it first came about. I, too, was surprised to see some physical amplifiers and the inline-mixing board (if this is what it's called, ?) because the YT videos looked more like a flightdeck than a studio :D // If this becomes part of a series, short or long, I'd be really interested in it. // I also liked the song we heard at the end!
Hi Jassy, I am writing to inform you that your music was epically great and your friends are just as incredible as you are. Hope to hear from you and rock on for the next level :) 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Devoting a lot of time to my hobby, music, I spend enough time in the studio and I can say, it's really true, it takes a huge amount of time to create a crystal clear sound mix. Alex and Rolf clearly showed this wonderful work, only respect for them. 16.43 very clear sound. You have done a magnificent job; such a format of programs is insanely fascinating and will always find a great positive response from the viewer. Thank you 🎸🎸🎸
thank YOU for your appreciation on our work. producing an modern but still natural sound with a lot of analogue equipment is really challenging but satisfying the same time when it works out 🤘🔥🤘
@@WARDRESS_METAL Thanks for the answer🤘🏻 Even an ordinary analog mixer has the right to live in a modern studio. It is quite easy to integrate it into the studio environment with proper switching with the audio interface. After all, the whole thrill of using analog equipment is to overcome all sorts of limits and limitations 🎸🎸🎸
Awww, really cool ☺️👍 I like stuff like that, it is always interesting to dive deeper into the process and know all these small details and learn something new 🤓 Thank you ☺️👏🙌✨
Hey JJ...Nice to see you in this familiar place, and cool to see one of my Band - CD's in your Video too! 😅 I've had a lot of cool and creative hours in this place too. Greetings to Rolf, the "Lord Of the (Mixing-) Board! ;-)
Really great video Jassy!! I like this format A LOT! For people wanting to get their stuff recorded for the first time there are some really good points of advice given in this video! The number one tip of course is the obvious "know your parts" one, because studio time is a big investment money wise. For guitarists entering the studio I'd say: Always put on some fresh strings and if you use actives replace your battery. And ASK QUESTIONS when you're not an experienced recording musician. I learned so much about recording techniques, mic placement, different speaker/mic characteristics and so on just by asking questions and being interested in the subject. And 9 out of 10 engineers will get a sparkle in their eyes just because someone is willing to learn something about their expertise🙂. And above all, don't forget to HAVE FUN. Although recording can be very frustrating sometimes, it is also a very fun thing to do😇. I'm now off to try the Michael Schenker wah trick😜🤘.
@@WARDRESS_METAL Of course I did🤘🔥! I will suck up every bit of knowledge I can get when it comes to recording/mixing since it has interested me for a very long time! I even thought about getting a bachelors degree in music production about 10 years ago, but was talked off it by some people from inside the business that told me there was almost no chance to make a living from it (sadly). So I became a chemist instead😅. In my spare time I do have the opportunity to be active in recording a bit, since a friend of mine owns a small studio where he records smaller bands and asks me for checking out/tweaking/re-amp some recordings together from which I learn a lot.
@@diede2308 thank you so much! great you like our music 🤘🔥 we could have done more such „deep dive videos/parts“ beside the track „Berserk“ - the one we‘ve chosen for this video. almost all songs on our album have similar production „tricks“ like the „Michael Schenker wah“ 😅✌️ have fun & again big thx for your pretty nice feedback!
I'm looking forward to record my drums in autum this year at empire studios. I guess it will change my life a little bit. Thanks for your studio tour JJ.
Ok will do sorry for being a pain i still love the songs that you trying new songs its interesting the way you give so many songs a go rock on J J keep it up
Rehearse the shit out of your music, go in knowing the songs inside and out. When my band went into the studio in '97, we we NOT prepared and you can hear it on the demo.
Yup, I was just going to say the same thing..Practice like crazy. I play guitar 10-12 hours a night....most nights . Lots of recording. Recording makes you a lot better as well.
ok JJ, this is Aaron Goodwin,.... I have a request. will you please buy me the Ibanez btb 806ms Bass!!???? 😅 jk..... no but REALLY 😭.. j... k..... 😢😢 I miss your 😈 face... your beautiful face

Also thank you so much to Rolf and Alex for this amazing meetup!
Always nice to see the production step of Studio Recordings 🤘👍

I always love to see behind the scenes video's. As a techie I love to know about the process of recording, used equipment etc. So great video!
If Michael Schenker plays it, it is fine by me!
It's very interesting so see how profesional recording and a studio works🎸
